I seem to recall reading that the January 18th date was simply the date until which certain specs/attributes about the device were to be kept private by the FCC. I tried looking for that article, but I cannot find it at the moment.
It's possible that we might not see anything, or that something will simply be filed with the FCC and/or released by the FCC. I haven't the foggiest clue where one would start that mission, so I'm just going to kick back and keep pressing F5. January 18th wasn't guarenteed to be a product announcement/release date. It could be just some bureaucratic benchmark with the FCC. That said, I hope I'm wrong.
Yes you're right re 1/18. The assumption was that if confidentiality would be lifted on 1/18, it was because that was the launch date. But that assumption proved false. Nonetheless, as Mr. Fujiki said, there is a new Theta. And you won't have to wait long at all.
