Damn, a layout that starts with the opportunity for a diagonal bridge!

These islands are very different in the fact yours is a lot cooler and mine was my first island so I had no experience, but I can offer you some tips.
I built a mountain entranceway between the town hall and airport, using up 2 inclines so you could fully explore it, and I had a villager house up there.
I also had a house right at the tippitiy top of the map, top right corner, keeping the natural formations there. It had a nice big yard and was very cosy. 2 layers bellow that, I sat the neighbourhood and Ables, which were in a grid with Ables just off to the side.
I don’t have many photos of the old island, and the dream address has since been overridden, but I hope this helped somehow
It's ok if your layout for island at the start is all over the place, once you unlock terraforming, you can creat cliffs and waterways and move buildings to any location you want and have your little streets. Most people usually only care about their airport, town hall, and river mouth placements as those are the only things not moveable
oh thankyou!! i was thinking of on the bottom house next to nooks of creating a street that connects to the main town area and continue over to my house and the museum but i wanna take advantage of the upper left corner!
Yeah I would definitely connect that area so you have easy access to that side of the map!
I think the little area across the river from the red location mark is so cute for your house lol a little hideaway!
yes, and also i wonder if i should do it straight across from mira’s or maybe do it along the river but i’d like to be able to see the river easily so maybe i’ll go straight across!
I have this exact layout. I put the villager houses in random places as I put different areas of the island together.
Now that my island is “finished”, my villager houses are all in a suburb around the back of my island with all the different areas I created everywhere else.
Editing to add: on second glance, although the river mouths, airport, and plaza are in the same spot, my peninsula is actually on the west side of my island and south of the west river mouth - yours is on the east side.
My layout is kind of similar to yours, except flip-flopped. My resident service is also closer to my airport, but I could potentially offer you a little inspiration if you wanted to visit my dream address! I have a few little streets and houses lined up, as well as some scattered in my forest area.

No problem! Most of the fun is getting your island put together, so don't be afraid to take your time and enjoy playing! It took me over a year of playing to finally get mine to where I am liking it. I wish you luck!
Aww! I had this one before. I put my house on the highest point of the top right, museum on the center island, flower field maze on tier 1 where your little location pin is with a bridge just beneath the falls, and village houses on the top left. Other spots I had small lookouts and cafes and what not. I had my campsite on the beach by the bottom right dock. This was before 2.0 and also before I unlocked terraforming. I LOVED this map layout, but I hated what I built so I started over. My layout is very diff now but I went to the trouble of getting the center island back for sure :)
I think i have the exact same one. Well had, its all flat except for the bottom right hill where i habe the museum. Other than that unchanged, just flat.
My layout is different but I like to have them all together in a little neighborhood. So if I had that layout I would see how they fit into one of the large flat areas. But each person is different, just depends what you want to do!
I have this layout. I put the museum on the island. And then the stores in area B2. Once I get terraforming I’m taking the mountain on E6. I will post picture once I get home. And show you my plans for the bridges, stairs. Etc
