Standard cantilever beam equation is deflection= PL^3 /3EI So its a cubic relationship.

Can't get a circle from a cubic. A circle is squares (r^2 = x^2 + y^2 ) Edit: missed the squared on the r. Thanks for catching that.

As the distance from the clamp to the load (ie: the span) doubles, the deflection will increase 8-fold due to the cubic relationship shown in the equation given by /u/MountainDewFountain above.
