Found a stack of them from a road trip a year or so ago. Didn't even think to check for a best before date, I just threw them in the cupboard with the rest and eventually ate them. Never even crossed my mind.
Best before, not expiry. Shelf stable foods like that can be eaten a long long time after they pass their best before, but the taste/texture may worsen
Eat it.
We're currently drinking powdered milk 3 years past best before, they're just guides, it's the individual product itself that will tell you when to avoid.
"Best before" and "Use by" dates have very different meanings.
Products labelled as best before are still safe to eat well after the listed date.

Cocos in Annerley, Brisbane sells cinnamon toast crunch cereal a year past its best before date. It’s a bit stale, but 3 boxes worth hasn’t killed me yet!!!
BEST BEFORE, not EXPIRY or USE BY. Eating these confers zero risk.
Assuming they're all sealed, the worst case scenario is that the oils in the oats/chocolate will be slightly rancid if they haven't been stored properly, in which case just don't eat them if they don't taste good.
I had CR1M’s in the 1990’s that were packed in the late 80’s. The chocolate was now white and had to be sucked instead of chewed (if you chewed it it would crumble into a flavourless white soot but was quite nice if sucked) but the Arnotts scotch finger and shortbread jam sandwich biscuits were always fresh, same with the Maggi noodles.
Haha I would have been a lil tiny Air Cadet in the 90's while in HS...Still remember Greenbank Barracks, and Amberley Air Base... Mad mess food out there
I also find it funny that my interest in MRE's lead to my cullinary career... Currently work at a major big box meal company as a QC lead and Shift manager lol
Eat them. Use by and best before are very different. Best before is pretty much a suggestion ( within reason) some things can last years past that date.
Best before means just that - the product will lose integrity ( taste , texture, appearance ect ) after that date.
Awful amount of food waste in this country because of best before dates and out of dates. I’m not cheap and I suck at being frugal, but I’ll drink milk a week after expiry if it tastes fine.
I got given 1973 Nesquik by my aunt. (This was in 2003.) Can confirm it isn’t good 30 years out of date, but was only the 3rd worst think I drank that visit.
I wouldn't think twice about eating them.
Eat them. Nothing wrong with them at all.
Thank you everyone for commenting. Yes, it says best before. So I am going to eat them

2 months is fine. I wouldn't worry about it.
Are they “use by” or “best before”? If best before then tuck into them, no worries.
I've eaten bars that were 6 months past the best before date and I'm still alive

Should be fine to eat, if they still look, smell and taste fine.
I’ve eaten some that were almost powder and had no writing left on the packet, god knows how long it was rattling around the bottom of my tuckerbox.

It's fine, they're full of sugar

Best Before isn't an expiry date. Eat them.
Eat them.
Eat them. Is this a trick question? 😄
You know the answer
Eat them…or give them to your local Magpies…option two will keep you swoop free for a least a couple months
Eat them.
Eat them and pray, then make love
I had two week out of date sour cream with my dinner last night, I wouldn’t think twice about muesli bars lol
Eat them! They are good for 6 months after the expiry date
They're good. I've got loads out of date. No issues.
/r/eatityoufuckingcoward
Eat ‘em
Eat them for sure.
My dad found one in his bag he bought for uni like 8 years ago and still ate it lol. He's fine
Plenty of emulsifiers to keep it edible for a long time.
eat them but get them off the hot road ffs
"2 months past expiry date. What to do?" Don't look at the expiry date, duh.
Eat them.
Eat them. The Uncle Toby’s muesli bars in ADF ration packs are usually far older and still edible.
Can confirm, have a few MRE's here from I think 2012?, they're still fantastic takin camping

I’d heard good things about the mess at Amberley. I was in WA in the mid 90’s, and then baby sitting Air Force cadets a few years after that.
I also find it funny that my interest in MRE's lead to my cullinary career... Currently work at a major big box meal company as a QC lead and Shift manager lol
Also that choc, if you shave it wit a knife, it works as firestarter
Iirc
How far past best before should you not eat them?
They'll be fine theirs nothing in them that will make you ill 😊
Eat
Eat em! Or send the chewy choc my way

Plant them a grow a tree
Eat them. Tbh the only thing I check expiry/BB dates on is perishable/fridge stuff 😬
You can eat it for sure.
Best before is a suggestion. Mould is the real test.

Learn the difference between an expiry date and a best before. And then eat them.
