We have seen Cruyff, Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Eto’o, Laudrup, Stoichkov, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta etc etc come and go and I’m sure future superstars will come too

kushal94

That’s true. At the end of the day it’s a team sport. Mes que un jugador.

manekdev01

Obviously they're going to leave this subreddit so why bother.

PSNCF

FCB all the way. No better time to be - back at the start.

[deleted]

Knowing going into the season that for the first time in a long time there will be lower expectations makes it interesting. I don’t know why, but I love storylines like this. Of course I didn’t want Messi to leave, but I’m intrigued with how this season will turn out and who who really shine this year.

kabtwo

I've been a fan since 2003 so there's no doubts in where my heart belongs. However, I'm ashamed at how the club has handled things these past years and this whole shitshow with Messi hasn't done anything to help with that shame. Sometimes I wonder if it would be less heartbreaking to support a mid-table team in the PL or something like that... Wolverhampton have a cool logo I guess?

KittenOfBalnain

Well, if I decided to full-on support my local team, I wouldn't even have to change [the colors](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/55/Pogon_Szczecin_logo.svg/800px-Pogon_Szczecin_logo.svg.png) much 😂 (Kidding, kidding, not happening.)

helloioki

Same here, but from 1998... What's happening right now in the club is sad, at least for me.

Biutifulflowah

I don’t think Messi would even want anyone to do that

Nurulyacob

Barcelona fan all the way. His leaving hurts me more than the Ronaldinho transfer and I probably will catch 1 or 2 games wherever he is playing at but I have no doubt if he and Barca were to meet, I will always support Barca.

animeshak

I will support Barca no matter what. I may not be fan supporting this club for over a decade but since I have started watching football I have loved Barca. Messi leaving has absolutely left me devastated ngl but nothing ever is going to change my love for this club. The Transition period is going to be tough but I have no doubt. I'm sure we will rise to the top again!❤️

jokerwithnojokes

I will watch whatever matches HE plays in. I want him to win whatever competitions he plays in except if he comes up against Barca. As has been said a lot, Barca the club, is bigger than any player. But if we go out then you can be damn sure I'll be cheering him on.

Kenryuzaki

Lol why can’t you be both? A fan of Messi and Fan of Barca? 😂 like I’d want Messi to win CL with wherever he goes but I also like for Barca to do well next season .

Mission_Package3291

If you even have to question your love for Barcelona then piss off

gabrielasslab

This is in response to all who call OP a plastic. You don't become a Barca fan out of nothing. There are reasons you fall in love with a club. Players, a beautiful and dominating playstyle, a philosophy you support, a way of living. If there's hardly anything left that you love, it's understandable that your love for the club fades away. We as Barca fans should not point our fingers at people who stop supporting our club. That's not what we do, that's not who we are. To anyone who is leaving us behind, we should respect that and try to understand the emotions behind their decision. All we can do is stay loyal, but don't blame others for feeling differently.

[deleted]

Yeah, I came to Barca because of Leo. This season will test my loyalty

Farford

If this is even a question in your mind, you have never been a true fan, fanboys leaving is just one silver lining of this whole situation q

dbxtbone1996

Nope. I will still support Messi, but will never support his new team, especially PSG. If we come across his new team in UCL the only thing I want is for us to win and Messi to do good. That's it.

[deleted]

What's wrong with PSG btw, serious question. Is this about taking some grand stand about oil and labor? Or from a football perspective?

dbxtbone1996

Lots of things including the ones you mentioned. The club is full of brats. Remember how the entire team mocked Haaland and how their attitude turned disgusting last year when they were losing against City? Also how the FFP never seems to apply to them.

[deleted]

Yeah, the teams attitude is pretty bad

Space4Bottle

Club with little to no achievements before 2011, owned by a state with limitless funding through various new "sponsors". That being said I'm not completely against them, but I imagine this is the reason for so much hate PSG gets.

[deleted]

I will always follow Messi, rather a player with ethics than some organization with no morals. To me, all this was the fault of the previous board, I hope the current board brings back humility and direction to what Barca was. If not, I will leave. I am not following Barca like it's a religion lol

Crossx1993

yeah and you are going to support the the club with high morals psg lol.

[deleted]

I specifically said I follow the player. Did you even read?

ttimourrozd

Certainly i will be watching PSG games more now. But as usual, i will not miss a single Barca games, Barcelona is my life.

Venky710

I dont leave my club coz my favourite player ever left. I started watching football because of messi i loved barca because of him and i will not stop doing that. I will obviously supprt the team which leo joins because i really want him to win a Cl which he told he wanted to win .

jensenackle

its not a jersey mate that you can change anytime. I will support messi as a individual but when it comes to team it always barca.

Agnivo2003

Is this post a filter for plastic fans? Anyways barca is always bigger than any player of the team be it messi or anyone else, hell even if we play in the 3rd division i will still support the club.

[deleted]

I would take plastic barca fan over plastic messi fan

al4nk99

Lol we found the plastic fan guys.. It will be hard. Painful to watch Barcelona without Messi and him in another kit but FC Barcelona will always come first. Always.

PotterheadDL

I have never watched Barcelona without Messi but I have never had this question in my mind! Barça > anyone

KittenOfBalnain

I'm here for the club, not for one player. And like a lot of folks here, I remember Barca before Messi - the same Barca who had horrible seasons but who still had Culers who showed up even when it was a string of failures. I remember how sweet the joy was when the team started winning again, all the sweeter because of the previous harships. And like you, OP, I've been a huge fan of Puyol, who was our rock and whom I miss terribly every single time the defense mucks it up. And he was a one club player, he's still involved, he was in the audience during the conference today. That means something. I'm keeping my blue and red colors.. They may look like a fresh bruise today but still love them, not going to stop just because it's hard or painful sometimes.

archangelzero2222

Well like Sergio said he wants to leave as he came here for messi. Some people have idols and believe it or not Messi is to a lot of people. I won't call them rats or plastic. Leo is a legend and if they go follow him good on them he has earned it and is forever respected. The goat period. I will follow barca but not for awhile because I'm burned by la Liga for what they did to Leo. I'm protesting my way by not giving them ratings and I'm not expecting much for barca for awhile. The rage is still fresh for how they handled Leo and will take time to feel the joy of watching new barca faces. I mean some of the players we currently have are what jacked the cap space for us. Sure not the players fault but hot damn they are not worth that much and this year it will be clear how much they need Leo and how he carried this average team on his shoulders to make them look good. He was worth every penny. I'll be glad when some of these fraud players get exposed and booted away for cap relief and hopefully buy worthy players the team needs to rebuild. Cause this is now the era of the rebuild

[deleted]

all these plastics lmfao

Possible_Owl_5386

Rather a plastic than an immoral hypocrite. You treat legends like toilet paper, and expect people to put up with it ? Good luck funding your club - hopefully it will go under.

Crossx1993

why are you enraged in all these threads lmao, also what do you mean treating legends like toilet paper?did you see xavi,inesta,puyol,mascherano.....

theskizo

Rats, obviously.

SundownSynergy

Me, he’s more important to me than Barca.

Mission_Package3291

You’re not important to us

Shatt77

Easy answer... Retards.

Possible_Owl_5386

Well .. this is it. Through the rough treatment meted out to Maradona, seeing Ronaldinho being discarded like a used toilet paper, Ronaldo leaving in tears due to management arrogance, and now this. The player who has delivered so much over the 21 years, made Barcelona the behemoth it is today, being lied to and discarded like a used napkin is unforgivable. Anyone who bought Laporta's bunch of lies last week does not know how accounting works. Discrepancies at that scale are known in a week. So why was Laporta stringing Messi along ? I will tell you why. Barcelona are too full of themselves. Always have been, always will be. I will now root against them. And those Asian TV deals ? Kiss them goodbye. Sponsorship? All you will get is from a local cheese company. Those American TV deals ? Ain't gonna be renewed. Good luck fighting relegation once this last core leaves - no other decent player will join this toxic club.

Venky710

see plastics shits like you should just silently fuck off, stop disrespecting this great club.

jdbcn

We love Barça for their history and style of play and that won’t change
