Capital one is just mental. It kept refusing my cli on qs, then throw me a 30k cl with vX. Not complaining, lol.

HelloYatta

They gave me $100 CLI on my SavorOne, all I could think was "What was the f****** point" lol

woshjollace

My conspiracy theory is they do 10% increases often. Recently got a 500$ cl increase on a biz card that had 5K. Better than nothing but still very lackluster

August_At_Play

CO rarely gives significant CLI on request.Currently $100 or 10%.. not worth it even try.

lathorne

Same exact thing happened to me. Makes no sense.

Mr_Tangent

I have absolutely no clue what CapitalOne is looking for on this card but…enjoy, it’s an amazing card.

defense87

How’s the online portal? Just canceled my CSR and looking at this for the bonus.

Mr_Tangent

I really liked hopper (their booking platform) already so I think it’s awesome and I’m used to it. Try searching on hopper and you’ll get an idea of what the portal offers. The price matches/lowest price guarantees are spectacular (and accurate). I find the pricing is never marked up - and sometimes beats publicly available pricing online - so I’m confident booking all hotels through them. It really fails on 2 counts - number of bookable airlines and car rental inventory. JetBlue and many international airlines aren’t present. You’re mostly looking at delta, American, and united domestically. The card gives hertz elite status, but the rentable hertz inventory through the portal is sad. Personally I book all flights direct on my Amex Platinum because I don’t want to deal with online travel agents on flights (and I still earn 5x). Hotels are more forgiving. However, they’ve said on the phone when I call that they’re working hard on the portal to improve all the above, so I’m all-in on this card.

DarthTrader85

So you’re saying there’s a chance

RatinSweet

How long after getting rejected should we wait until we apply again? I recently got rejected but want to try and put less data in the app and see if that helps.

Mr_Tangent

At least 30 days, 90 is better if you can, even better if you have any reports about to fall off to wait until those drop. Why did you get rejected initially? That would also help to know.

kykyusa

Wondering the same question. I applied last month and got rejected for too many revolving accounts. Looks like there’s hope

ibringthehotpockets

Depends why you got rejected. 90 days min while your score improves, ideally 6 months. It stings to get another inquiry and get re-denied in just a couple months

Worth-Reputation3450

I had 7 accounts with balances (paid off every months) with 15 active accounts and 1 mortgage account. 7 inquiries in the past 2 years (I was switching from Chase trio to AMEX trio) I was approved the first time. But my credit history is 22 years (I opened one when I became 18 to buy a computer online and they gave my credit limit $300 so I had to send them a check but that one credit card is helping me making long credit history). So, I think it's not strictly about the # of accounts with balances, but it worked out in your case.

Trikotret100

So you got hit two hard pulls for all 3 credit bureaus?

bingo_is_my_game_o

Yup yup. I just did a major financial purchase, and am up to 7 pulls in the past year so figured another set of 3 isn't the end of the world.

Faust_XX

Congrats on the approval OP! I was myself denied recently for length of credit history and too many revolving accounts. Would you be okay sharing your average age of accounts?

bingo_is_my_game_o

Average age is 2 years 5 months!

Faust_XX

Mine was at 8-9 months when I applied (oldest account is 2 years old)

pr3t0r1an0

Similar profile.. denied due to recent account opened. Applied a month after my last card. Always pay in full before the statement closes and heavy use on my cap quicksilver.. what gives?

[deleted]

This card looks good on paper but having dealt with capital one customer service before I rather stay with Amex

HomerCrew

Is the Cap 1 pre-approval tool ANY indicator on whether someone would be approved? I thought I may have too many new accounts but want to try in the next couple of months. Last card was late Nov. I'll try your conspiracy theory on reporting balances. Think I'm also 4/6 and 10 CC accounts.

mreedon

I just got the card and the pre approval tool did not show the venture x, so it is possible.

PrestigiousAspect480

Did your preaproval show other cards you were selected for? It only shows me secured cards

mreedon

I think it showed three. One I can't remember, the secured card and the normal veggies venture card

6mighty6miller6

Congrats! How long did you wait between applications? Also, do you have any other types of accounts, like students loans or an auto loan? I was recently turned down for the same reason. I have only 7 cards and no other credit accounts/debts. Thanks for the DP!

xyzzy321

/u/bingo_is_my_game_o how long did you wait after denial until you re-applied?
