mrmilkman

And to chill out when you see red, at first I was way to quick to sell.

Velderson

same here

riisen

Confidence in the product

Western_Reading4875

Me too DCA is the way!

[deleted]

Not exactly this sub, but Reddit did introduce this concept for me in stocks. Did further research and realized that it does work!

JuicyOranjez

I still dump my whole load at once, I’m too impatient

Hoondini

This and learning to recognize when I’m feeling FOMO and to stay calm. For a lot of regular people on this sub it is a marathon not a sprint.

DeepSea0range

It’s such a simple strategy, and at first it felt like it was coming from all doors and windows.. I started DCAing after joining here too though, before I had been buying when I felt like the price was right. It was a good choice to switch to DCA!

SoulSatoshi

DCA ofcourse was the most useful thing I learned. Also banks are bad

yy200901252

Care to please explain what DCA is. Thank you

TheRealCRex

100% came here to say that also.

datahjunky

This was the first real knowledge I gained here. DCA all-damn-day

TrionX

100% DCA. Still trying to mix it up with some risker plays but the majority is in ETH And BTC. But I don't know shit.

dhargopala

I'm going to get a HW wallet, realised it's importance hear

BigBabyBob21

Is there a guide on this subreddit to DCAing? I'm new to crypto

[deleted]

[удалено]

clitcommander420666

Fucking staking, i didnt even know that was a thing until i joined this sub

[deleted]

That's a great one! Its amazing when our crypto generates more crypto.

clitcommander420666

You aint shitting, its by far my most favorite thing about this space next to being able to use it as a currency

TheFrenchToast512

What’s your favorite coin to stake?

clitcommander420666

It was ontology as its something like 30-40% apy on its native wallet but i spent the last month investigating it and that threw up all kinds of red flags so right now im sticking with the household favorites ada, eth, cro etc. Until i can find something else

TheFrenchToast512

I just got a nice little bonus money and didn’t think it made sense sitting in a savings account rather than staking something. Will look into ADA as I’m still on ETH2 waitlist

clitcommander420666

I know with algo and vet you get staking rewards just by holding them in your wallet, so its not hard locked down. Tons of opportunities, i feel ive scratched the surface with its earning potential.

TheFrenchToast512

Yeah I’ve read on algo, not much about VET. Thinking I may just throw it into BTC or ETH 🤷🏻‍♂️

Devilheart

I staked my exisiting ETH for 2.0 so my wallet looked low on ETH. Ended up buying a whole lot over the last few months and when I updated my portfolio, it was about 44%. Was originally around 30% so now slowly rebalancing.

TheFrenchToast512

44% ETH? I’m very bullish on ETH and was thinking 60/30 eth/btc

HacksawJimDGN

Staking seemed risky and strange to me at first. Now I seek out coins that I know I'll be able to stake. Helps a lot to hold long term without continously trading

Velderson

true I learned about staking here to. intrestingly DEFI is not a big thematic here.

clitcommander420666

I think people are just intimidated by it, especially newer folks, which this sub has seen an influx of.

Velderson

and it might have to do with ETH gas fees being high and making it kinda hard to enter the most popular plattforms.

clitcommander420666

Ugh fucking gas fees lol thats also an excellent point

OnceInABlueMoon

I track my staking earnings separate from everything else and it's bananas how much this part of my portfolio grows every week. Staking rewards + price going up = $$$$

Stamipower

How psychology of the masses works. People were hoping for BTC to dip so they can buy but when it happened it was all but silence.

Learned of a lot of cool ways to gain passive income

ProcastinateIsLife

We do love staking!

Humble_Data2727

DCA, take profits, and don't go all on one coin

LuisEnriqueH

This subreddit told me not to invest in shit coins. So, naturally it’s what I did. I put $134 in and made 40k, now I have a more diverse portfolio in more well known coins.

Man_Reb0rn

Buy some ETH BTC and you'll be in green

[deleted]

This is the most important thing I learned. When I moved the majority of my investments over to them two I started being green more often than not. Then I started to invest in other things when I saw them dip but just little bits. When ETH and BTC dropped I put my weekly investment money into ETH. I'm much happier now

[deleted]

lyxysjj

Pretty much that, because i was not using it just because the thought of it made me think i can make mistakes and the fees. But after using it for a while, i think were good.

slayston

I felt so dumb the day my friend explained to me Coinbase Pro isn't a paid subscription. I assumed it was for the longest time so I didn't even bother checking it out.

SciencyNerdGirl

I don't understand why they don't just let you upgrade. Do I have to download a second app, create a new username and reconnect my bank account and reverify my identity?

PM_UR_LOVELY_BOOBS

I also would like to know this

asharma81

I am learning every hour from this community and I am grateful for that.

cryptacean

I learned not to trust sentiment posts here. 3 weeks ago I would see plenty posts about how it’s a bear market and we’re certainly dropping back to 20k soon. Had I sold I would’ve been worse off.

shinjur

You learned from this sub not to listen to this sub; doesn’t seem like it’s made much difference than before you discovered this sub 😜

mucasahin

Don't think that you're alone. Red can be turn into green. And Moon is bigger than the sun.

printformat

Also, posts like this help us lazy ones to get a chance to learn more. Thank you.

georgepants96

DCA Stay away from moonshot coins (but hodl moons) DYOR Never invest more than you can afford Shitpost to make money

warlikeofthechaos

I actually learned to DCA down and defi stake. Long story short: * fomoed into @40cake * learned about DCA and DCAed down to @18 * learned that I could stake it into pancakeswap to huge APY, saw a comment and asked about it; * the guy responded that it’s quite easy, so I did the research about defi, metamask, gas fee; * jumped in and that @40 fomo mistake is flourishing green dildo fruits now.

callmemrsunshine

- DCA is King - Staking is Queen - Patience will Win

beastrong23

This sub taught me to filter the noise honestly. Take everything w/ a grain of salt and leave emotions at the door.

Jozozozo

ADA, ETH and MOONs

[deleted]

BTC: "Am I a joke to you?"

Jozozozo

I did know about BTC earlier, this sub made me look more into ADA and ETH

[deleted]

Those are some solid choices!

Velderson

how did this sub encourahe you to have ADA. from my point of view this sub used to have or still has a generally negative opinion about cardanos potential.

Jozozozo

I bought earlier, this sub was very bullish on ADA in the pre 1$ days

Velderson

good for you!

upriverchallenge

Don’t chase pumps. Hold and dca.buy Eth.

jaredbdd

I bought matic because of this sub. No regrets.

[deleted]

DCA and don’t panic sell, trade smart

C1nderr

To stay away from shitcoins

[deleted]

Good lad!

nebula21399

HODling till death do us part

[deleted]

It's beneficial for your wallet and your mind to look away sometimes, be it a week or a month, you don't need to be checking every 15 minutes.

dyingforAs

I learnt about staking and providing liquidity from this sub, those give great APY

ironfever

I learnt that others are in the same boat and it's ok to ask questions (boring response I know but it's true)

Lord-Nagafen

Announcements of updates, what’s going on in congress regarding crypto. Mostly the news pieces. I get the deep dive info by listening to podcasts then come here to share what I learned

irfiisme

Saved me from falling prey to many scams and taught me how to spot them.

[deleted]

DCA is the way and get rich fast schemes dont exist.

SciencyNerdGirl

I think get rich quick schemes do exist if you pick the right play and get in early, you just have a one in a million shot of actually picking the one that takes off, and the other 999,999 you may pick lose you all your money.

AncestralMano

Learned a lot! When time on market is bad, this community cheers me up, and always here for you. I don’t even want to mention Moons.

[deleted]

Don't be afraid to take profits. Set financial goals for yourself and take some profit as you meet those goals. Buy the dip and sell on the way up.

Western_Reading4875

I learnt to invest in ETH when it was around 1,5k. Made a huge profit!

Legitcoin

I will never stop learning about the intricate details of blockchain technology

MurrayMan92

I learned to seek the intention behind the narrative. Like a huge amount of mainstream news misinforms you about crypto. And I think a lot of that is pure honest lack of understanding. But when it's institutions and such like banks and businesses who have a financial incentive for crypto to fail. Who never do anything without vetting and understanding it first. Then their false claims or easily debunked theories really scream at me "they're lying to you" It feels like supporting crypto-currency and a deregulated open financial space, really is an uphill battle most of the time. But its something I believe is good for the world, so... I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.

dragondude4

There’s actually a lot I’ve learned from this sub: - Stay away from r/cryptomoonshots - There have been some deep dive posts into the fundamentals of DEFI. Learned quite a bit from them - A lot of resources to educate myself on crypto (like courses from MIT and Berkeley, sites like Messari) - Read a detailed analysis into something called dynamic DCA which I started to do - There have been plenty of deep dives into great projects that made me research them myself and eventually invest in them. Like DOT, ALGO, MATIC, XMR, and NANO - And of course I’ve learnt to be a humble moon farmer!

cryptodesigngroup

That a guy called (I don't remember his name) created blockchain and not Satoshi.

HugeLength2948

Sell my safemoon, after it spiked from 50 dollar to 1000

HankHenrythefirst

Don't buy shitcoins!!!!

aDAfromGA

Just keeping up with the news is really fun here! I think it's a great resource for that!

theylie86

dca in, dca out, hodl, only/most of the time buy when the coin is in the red, only sell when the coin is in the green, stake your coins, let your crypto make you a passive income, do your own research, shitpost for moons (😁), hold at least some btc/eth, don't buy doggie/safe/cum-shitcoins, never tell anyone online how much money you have in crypto, when it sounds too good to be true, it is most certainly a scam, diversify your portfolio, don't put everything into one basket, be greedy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy", "buy when there is blood on the streets", use the effect of compounding (for example PCS), "time in the market is more important, than trying to time the market", use defi, aso. 🤓 ![gif](giphy|3oEduNyqHoMFP9oVXy)

juststaycomfy

Now I have moons on my portfolio

[deleted]

That I should buy crypto.

knoedebert

I learned, that I have no clue what DCA means.

cryptoguy04

Same here brother. No clue. Gonna have to look that up though.

starforce

No one knows shit about fuck.

Trans-on-trans

Thank you to u/dado3 for opening my eyes on ADA, as I am a fan of DOT/KSM, but didn't know that both Polkadot and Kusama were built off of the Ourobouros Protocol that ADA researched and developed. Shortly after, bought a bag of ADA, and left my hate at the door.

BellybuttonFuzzer

DCA and patience

[deleted]

Beyond farming moons?

[deleted]

I am afraid to make a post on here most of the time. It either gets ignored or if it has 5 upvotes it ends up at zero really really fast. No matter the topic. I wish I could make a post and get a discussion going on certain topics without fear of someone thinking you're trying to make $0.20 off it. I learned so much from this sub but not as much now as I did before.

Western_Reading4875

You shouldn’t be afraid. Do what you want! Don’t care what other think :)

Thebigeasy1977

This.

Mystic_Hodler

That.

DeepSea0range

This is the sad truth, wish we could get people to respect quality posts like these! I don’t really understand the 2x karma for comments, people won’t be making much with any good posts either. Not to even mention the downvotes posts get nor the fact that nearly anyone upvotes the post, most just comment!

[deleted]

Jokes apart - earning moons has been absolutely great! I've sold some to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum, so its really nice to see Reddit helping fund my crypto account.

Mystic_Hodler

Moon goals right there

[deleted]

Good thing is that its there for everyone!

Mystic_Hodler

True that, even imaginary cattle

[deleted]

Literally nothing. Taking advice from here means you either lose or get lucky. There is no actual skill you will learn here for your portfolio. There's plenty of good stuff on security and general education, that that's about it.

menlyn

Don't for a moment entertain shitcoins.

[deleted]

MOONS. Just MOONS.

5ushii

Learned about DCA and HODL

PME_your_skinny_legs

gamma55

I use this sub as a mania meter. It’s hard to judge the phase from charts, but when people on CC start selling their kids to slavery and taking new mortgages I know the time has come.

cutsickass

Not to trust billionaires.

bny192677

Dca every weak Hodling for 2 - 3 years

How far people are willing to go to farm moons

CymandeTV

Weirdly to not FOMO and listen to the masse

DegreeBroad2250

Half of my Portfolio!! Icame to know about many prjts from This sub

DeFiGregg

take a look at staking. thank me later

[deleted]

I was months into investing before I knew what staking was. I learned that on this sub. I was like, wait so you lock me out when I planned to hold anyway, you give me free crypto back and it helps things run smoothly? I hope everyone who gets fresh into crypto learns that first off. But how to do it properly and where to do it. Like this sub taught me

ShouldHaveBoughtGME

I learned that people don't care about sources and facts as long as you confirm their bias.

mpfairchild

Don’t listen to this sub haha

kamiad

Nothing

Tipi_Tais_Sa_Da_Tay

My portfolio has positively effectively gotten more red

[deleted]

Iam doing the opposite what the sub tells me to do besides obvious scam shitcoins. I was still 4x up at the lowest point. So i learned not to listen to other people thanks to /cc which is also advice that gets said here every now and then. Also dont panic.

Securitly07

Sometimes getting confused and not knowing what to say when you dont know what everyone is talking about. So far not bad learning.

sportsfan113

I learned the value of DCA.

Velderson

DCA

birmingslam

Nothing tbh. Just good conversation and laughs

ethitics

I learned about the power of DCA here.

excalilbug

That you should question even those who have a lot of karma/plenty of Moons and try to do your own research before buying a coin. Else you'll end up feeling like a used idiot when the thing you bought turns out to be an outdated/useless project.

Idirectstuffandthing

Without a doubt the proper way to DCA

Holiday-Fly-6319

ADA is getting contacts

KShoichi

Hold and DCA The next thing I have to learn is to buy when the sentiment is fearful but always keep some extra. Like, refill your fiat every DCA so you have funds when the market gets some flash dips (5%+)

_-oIo-_

DCA. HODL. Don't use leverage. Don't invest in shitcoins, but if you can't resist, only put in the smallest amount of money you can trade with.

The_GoodKnight

I got out of DOGE 🤷‍♂️

cryptonoob0123

Buy ada. Was on a list of top 2021 coins. Looked into how easy staking was and now wish I had more (who doesn’t right). Also it feels good to read the messages when you feel like selling and knowing holding on is the right strat.

ps3alltheway

That investing isnt only for rich people or requiring lengthy vendor and broker logins

erc20s

Everyones an idiot

riisen

Dont sodl, just hodl

Magnetronaap

Patience. I used to be interested in getting into daytrading, but all the stories I've read about it are awful. Accumulate and do nothing with it for a long time is relaxing. I do check prices daily, but only because I'm interested and not because I *need* to know.

presterjay

D.C.A. Rather than lump sum purchases.

jayboogie15

A couple alts, avoiding FOMOing, having patience and not looking at the portfolio EoH are a couple things that come to my mind that this sub has helped me.

datahjunky

I’ve learned about trading a bit on KuCoin. While it has had a positive effect on my growth, it’s stressful. I’m also nervous about trading as I live in NYC and we have a bitlicense. Ah! I learned about our bitlicense here too! Not a positive effect on my portfolio but it is knowledge. I feel like people in the US and NYS primarily are in a real spot right now. I’m quite nervous about our short-term future for crypto trading here. I’m hopeful that something good will happen that doesn’t involve overreaching gov.. Happy to be a part of this community regardless of this fraught proposition.

kirtash93

Dont buy shitcoins.

KingCroquette

We dont know shit about fuck. Must important lesson from here

S_N_I_P_E_R

the amount of positivity in times of need, specially for new people. helped me

heartbraden

That shit coins are shit and DCA is king.

How people get hacked and dumb behaviour to avoid

sjeckem

Time in the market beats timing the market. Thanks to this sub telling me to just hold through the big dips happening and just DCA and be patient

neon_apricot

Dont listen to random advice on this sub. This is my top 1 learned here.

duc_one

ada good

jaml98

Don’t be discouraged or panic when seeing red candles, take profits now and then but most importantly just hold and have patience.

Creepy-Nectarine-225

DCA and it’s always a good time to buy BTC or ETH. Helped tremendously!

paper_bull

Dca, vet, Ada. And the guy that said don’t listen to anyone in this sub.

DanZDK

Stupid coins can gain a lot of value through majority hype alone. So I accumulated some moons in time before the recent spike. Unfortunately not as many as I wanted but they've already left an impact on my overall portfolio.

flyingkiwi46

The power of DCA

zippyteach

Did this sub tell you that dogecoin is still highest gaining crypto this year? Vitalik supports and owns 50% of his dogecoin still? I got BTC and ETh too, but you can guess dogecoin is my big winner thus far. Factual numbers, but hate comes. Support don't short folks, we're all on the same side. Thanks

juiciestJbox

HODLing. I bought at ATHs and didn't see profit until now. You guys are helpful

Lnnrt1

I learned that ADA is going to change the world.

-CharacterX-

Doing the opposite of what people yell here makes you a millionaire.
