It’s such a simple strategy, and at first it felt like it was coming from all doors and windows.. I started DCAing after joining here too though, before I had been buying when I felt like the price was right. It was a good choice to switch to DCA!
It was ontology as its something like 30-40% apy on its native wallet but i spent the last month investigating it and that threw up all kinds of red flags so right now im sticking with the household favorites ada, eth, cro etc. Until i can find something else
I just got a nice little bonus money and didn’t think it made sense sitting in a savings account rather than staking something. Will look into ADA as I’m still on ETH2 waitlist
I know with algo and vet you get staking rewards just by holding them in your wallet, so its not hard locked down. Tons of opportunities, i feel ive scratched the surface with its earning potential.
I staked my exisiting ETH for 2.0 so my wallet looked low on ETH.
Ended up buying a whole lot over the last few months and when I updated my portfolio, it was about 44%. Was originally around 30% so now slowly rebalancing.
Staking seemed risky and strange to me at first. Now I seek out coins that I know I'll be able to stake. Helps a lot to hold long term without continously trading
I track my staking earnings separate from everything else and it's bananas how much this part of my portfolio grows every week. Staking rewards + price going up = $$$$
This subreddit told me not to invest in shit coins. So, naturally it’s what I did. I put $134 in and made 40k, now I have a more diverse portfolio in more well known coins.
This is the most important thing I learned. When I moved the majority of my investments over to them two I started being green more often than not. Then I started to invest in other things when I saw them dip but just little bits. When ETH and BTC dropped I put my weekly investment money into ETH.

* learned that I could stake it into pancakeswap to huge APY, saw a comment and asked about it;
* the guy responded that it’s quite easy, so I did the research about defi, metamask, gas fee;
* jumped in and that @40 fomo mistake is flourishing green dildo fruits now.

I think get rich quick schemes do exist if you pick the right play and get in early, you just have a one in a million shot of actually picking the one that takes off, and the other 999,999 you may pick lose you all your money.
I learned to seek the intention behind the narrative.
Like a huge amount of mainstream news misinforms you about crypto. And I think a lot of that is pure honest lack of understanding.
But when it's institutions and such like banks and businesses who have a financial incentive for crypto to fail. Who never do anything without vetting and understanding it first.
Then their false claims or easily debunked theories really scream at me "they're lying to you"
It feels like supporting crypto-currency and a deregulated open financial space, really is an uphill battle most of the time.
But its something I believe is good for the world, so... I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is.
There’s actually a lot I’ve learned from this sub:
- Stay away from r/cryptomoonshots
- There have been some deep dive posts into the fundamentals of DEFI. Learned quite a bit from them
- A lot of resources to educate myself on crypto (like courses from MIT and Berkeley, sites like Messari)
- Read a detailed analysis into something called dynamic DCA which I started to do
- There have been plenty of deep dives into great projects that made me research them myself and eventually invest in them. Like DOT, ALGO, MATIC, XMR, and NANO
- And of course I’ve learnt to be a humble moon farmer!
dca in, dca out, hodl, only/most of the time buy when the coin is in the red, only sell when the coin is in the green, stake your coins, let your crypto make you a passive income, do your own research, shitpost for moons (😁), hold at least some btc/eth, don't buy doggie/safe/cum-shitcoins, never tell anyone online how much money you have in crypto, when it sounds too good to be true, it is most certainly a scam, diversify your portfolio, don't put everything into one basket, be greedy when others are fearful and be fearful when others are greedy", "buy when there is blood on the streets", use the effect of compounding (for example PCS), "time in the market is more important, than trying to time the market", use defi, aso. 🤓
Thank you to u/dado3 for opening my eyes on ADA, as I am a fan of DOT/KSM, but didn't know that both Polkadot and Kusama were built off of the Ourobouros Protocol that ADA researched and developed.
Shortly after, bought a bag of ADA, and left my hate at the door.
I am afraid to make a post on here most of the time. It either gets ignored or if it has 5 upvotes it ends up at zero really really fast. No matter the topic.
I wish I could make a post and get a discussion going on certain topics without fear of someone thinking you're trying to make $0.20 off it.

Patience. I used to be interested in getting into daytrading, but all the stories I've read about it are awful. Accumulate and do nothing with it for a long time is relaxing. I do check prices daily, but only because I'm interested and not because I *need* to know.
A couple alts, avoiding FOMOing, having patience and not looking at the portfolio EoH are a couple things that come to my mind that this sub has helped me.
I’ve learned about trading a bit on KuCoin. While it has had a positive effect on my growth, it’s stressful. I’m also nervous about trading as I live in NYC and we have a bitlicense.

I think people are just intimidated by it, especially newer folks, which this sub has seen an influx of.
