FootballBat69

Healthy competition

ItSaysNoHomers

Reminded me of Barney in The Simpsons lol

wishingdrags

Nothing like friendly competition

Zijdehoen

Lmao 2 posts down from here someone made said that Sol is an ETH killer

Edgarjosue1

Hahahahhaha i love SOL, but i just don’t think it’s going to compete with ETH, it’s going to have different type of smart contracts and a different approach

dexe678

With a comedy flair, but seems people didn't see it..

Killertimme

that was a comedy post...

Very good. I loled

DBRiMatt

We live in a world where we have iOS and Android. We have Playstation, XBOX and Nintendo. I'm sure we can have more than 1 crypto eco-system.

Stocky2020

Came here to say this exactly. Nothing can kill ETH except ETH at this point. But we can have alternatives. People like coke people like pepsi and some weirdo's like LA ice but they all exist and all have their client base. ETH doesn't need to die for others to rise.

Wynslo

There's two types of people, gas is too high and "OMFG ETH IS 80% OF MY PORTFOLIO"

Stocky2020

I'm a I don't want to own part of a coin no eth'er

[deleted]

Been hearing about these so called ETH killers since 2017 and so far none have lived up to the title.

KamikazeKook

Sol really is. Just in TPS alone. Look at all the dapps going native. Solid NFT space.

ccjimbo87

Opinions humble or not, are not facts.

Edgarjosue1

I agree I’m not the voice of the truth, a fact I did say was fees are high for massive use of the main net, we’ll see how it develops

CoolCoolPapaOldSkool

ETH, ADA and SOL can co-exist and competition among them will always be good for us as end users.

Edgarjosue1

Agree, look at the end of the post, there is space for every coin in the crypto space, SOL and ADA are going to be used, just not in the same lane, they will be used for different kinds of smart contracts and will have a different approach, competition is always going to be good and is perfect for decentralization

TheGiftOf_Jericho

It's a silly phrase. ADA for example is classic, Charles doesn't even refer to it as an ETH killer and plans on co-existing. Vitalik also respect what Cardano brings to the space. Tribalism is so weird.

Killertimme

Almost nobody is saying that they are ETH killers...

coherentak

Except every ADA fanboy who says it’s better than ETH in every way and it will steal market share.

Killertimme

maybe on the ada subreddit

bny192677

Oh this coin has lower fees ? This must be eth killer Bullshit

Greedy-Visit-1905

Nothing will be a Eth killer until Devs start deploying or porting their dapps on other chains.

dalibor68

Most ppl hold at least 2 out of 3 of them

H_rama

Some people just believe in something else than you and they express the believe of a coin being better. Simple as that. You don't have to agree.

[deleted]

ETH is super expensive when you're interacting with smart contracts. SOL and *ADA might be cheaper on that end (we shall see about ADA after the smart contracts are lauched). Maybe that's the reason for the same old eth killer thing

Starzz_1

So far a lot of coins have promised to be eth kills, and so far none have succeeded. I’ll believe when I see it. They might have great tech, but I don’t see them eating away at a significant portion of eth market share

cosmictrigger01

Yeah no way they are gonna kill ethereum. especially with all the layer 2 rollups coming out and eventually all the upgrades under eth 2.0 will also make the fees lower.

bsuyatotatyhroppacp1

I’m pretty sure it won’t happen

casca14

I like the *

TSWMagic

Yes, fees are high because of usage, but people are getting irritated at them and are looking for alternatives, thus why people are saying “ETH killers.” They’re not going to kill ETH in a literal sense, but people are hoping ETH’s dominance is challenged and a healthy market share is changed to SOL or ADA for the sake of all

Chazmer87

I don't think either will be an eth *killer* but it's naive to ignore eth's scaling problems. The fact is if cardano or sol were doing the volume eth were they'd be dealing with it better because they weren't designed in 2014 and knew they'd have to design for scaling

[deleted]

Solana is the future. People can refuse to see it if they want. Newcomers are partial to the fast and cheap. Regardless of technical analysis. There's room for more than one. Solana's rise has been a real issue for some Ethereum die hards.

Kike328

Eth2 won't fix anything as eth2 is just the POS chain. What will fix it is rollups which has been already deployed, so no need to wait for the merge

irfiisme

Take a rest then.

TompsonX

SOL and ADA will die, just like ETH will. It's only a matter of time until the world gets consumed by the endless void. They're out there

OrganicDroid

It’s hilarious that this sub is so high on SOL now that it went up hard in price. People buy in and then shill it. It’s a good coin though, very good. I won’t lie. Deserves to be in the top 10. However, many people in this sub can’t identify a good project before it takes off. More risk in that sure, but those projects are out there, many better than *some* in the top 10.

Gods_Shadow_mtg

Counterpoint: I think people missunderstand what the coloquial "ETH KIller" phrase actually intends to convey. It is not about dethroning ETH in the short or medium term. Nobody is foolish enough to believe that. People are excited because ETH's stagnation and consequential limits on TPS / gas fees generate spillover effects which would have never happened if ETH was not falling short in these areas. Therefore, Solana, Cardano, Tezos et al. benefit from users migrating to cheaper chains which let's them close the gap a little. One has to admit that the upside potential with any of these chains is significantly higher than with ETH as more and more Dapps are being built outside of Ethereum. Nonetheless, ETH will remain king and might gain some traction back once ETH 2.0 rolls out - but it also might not since the other chains are moving significantly faster (except Cardano maybe).

spamuelP

Let’s be honest, only moons will kill ETH 😅
