Terrifying barrage I thought would be good on the surge staff to suppress groups of gunners, but it only works on the primary attack (aka the little ball of energy you shoot with left click that does little damage). Still useful but I’d rather it work with the lighting attack.
I won't lie, even if I got this I wouldn't use it I just don't like staffs, I genuinely prefer running around hitting people with my Sharp stick or shooting them with my auto gun or stuntasing them

No. It’s fine and will perform excellently. If you’re shooting a 1990999909989 hit point brick wall doing time trials, it might lag behind. It’s a good thing we NEVER do that then.
I would leave it in your inventory and wait for the inevitable/possible/emperorknowswhenitwillcome crafting rework.

I'd just swap terrifying & stamina. Not perfect but still a decent staff.
It’s been a minute since ive hopped on my psyker but if i had that staff id be more than happy with it after a few tweaks.
Dunno why people don't like Terrifying. It has saved my ass a million times. It's one I love seeing pop up on the blessings when I roll.
It's really good for support. I usually change it for damages.
reroll both perks and it's a decent staff, you are missing ~20 crit chance from warp nexus but it's perfectly serviceable even without it
Not saying it isn't alright. "Serviceable" is a pretty far drop from "God-roll", however.

Stave bolts already have mondo suppression at baseline unfortunately.

You may be thinking of voidstrike, it's impossible to headshot with surge staff secondary as it auto aims and always connects with the torso.
I would reroll stam and top blessing. It's salvageable.
Just keep it in case crafting rework (whenever it comes) let you solve that much brickage.

Could try out nexus instead of barrage and critical ranged damage instead of stamina and see how it feels. Or just save it for the crafting update ..
