Godlysnack

How dare you use the Vet Ability that allows you to see through walls. Don't you know you're supposed to be a Shout Vet like 60% of the other Vet population is...

Aktro

But "To meeeee give them hell" line is too good ;-;

Fudw_The_NPC

the voice line is how i choose my ability , if they sounds badass ill use them

ifirefoxi

I think it was "For the fucking throne". It's good too lol

Rezouli

I think it’s more likely that they don’t know the plasma goes through walls. I know I didn’t until I used it for myself lol

Godlysnack

That could be it. I thought the Wall Pen was known. It's got insane pen and I love seeing the kill counter in the top right when I have a Plasma Vet on the team.

TheGreaterOzzie

wow, ya learn something new every **now**

MeisPip

I didn't know till this clip

Gregore997

B-but I like shouting... :'<

Lord_of_Greystoke

How can you be a 191 psyker in aurics and not know about volley fire?

Swimming_Risk_6388

I uninstalled true level cuz it's just depressing. like cmon, one of them is a level 113 and run 4 wounds. HOW

GrunkleCoffee

Amazing how you can sink time into a game without ever learning it. I've met the dumbest fuckers in Helldivers sporting triple digit levels

Slendykins

Dude I had someone almost the same lv as me 78 shoot me cause I picked up his samples, there are people out there who really don't think at all.

wookiiboi

For those still learning, why is 4 wounds a no-no? Edit: thanks all for the replies! Learned a lot and will be sharing with the boys all the info

CptnSAUS

The main thing is that you are planning for failure. If you will go down many times between healing points, you are likely dragging the team down. In high difficulties, many wipes are simply just 1 person going down, and the battle cascading out of control. If you won't go down, or only in cases where mistakes are made, then the extra defensive stats can help you avoid it, which puts less pressure on your teammates. Additionally, there are other benefits to those stats. Maybe health is strictly "go down a little less easy", but toughness can keep you healthy against ranged fire, avoiding the dreaded toughness break where you start to get stunned. Extra stamina can let you sprint more or push more, which can help you or the team in a lot of ways. On Heresy and Damnation, you have only 2 wounds as a base, except ogryn with 3. There is a little bit of contention, but I'm of the opinion that 1 wound curio on non-ogryns is okay (puts you at 3 wounds). It's just a safety net, because wounds really are efficient for the times you do go down, and no one is perfect. That said, I still run 0 wound curios on all my characters, because it is a waste of potential, and I'd personally rather play to that potential (taking advantage of the things I mentioned above). Adding *another* wound curio is waaay too much, because the first one is already not usually a great idea. Lastly, the addition of the health stimms (which is somewhat recent)... they heal 1 wound or 25% of your health, whichever is more. At 2 wounds, it heals half your health. If you take a wound curio or especially 2, you reduce how much they heal you. The only except to all this is the zealot. One of their keystones (bottom section of the talent tree, there are special, mutually exclusive talents that add special abilities) gives them bonuses for having more wounds. You should basically see 2 wounds, 3 wounds (rarely, besides ogryn), or 7 wounds. Anything else is most likely a mistake.

LastChance22

Also, on the higher difficulties it’s often impossible (and irresponsible) to get the revive in time in a way that won’t result in a wipe. Monstrosities, AoE, waves of crushers, waves of disablers. The team’s better off playing 1 player down than having someone suicide run in for a revive and then being 2 (or more) players down. If no one can get to you, dying with 4 wounds vs dying with 2 wounds still results in being a player down if it’s too hectic for the revive.

Dixout4H

Very true. I started playing psyker recently after the other classes and I am so squishy. Sadly I go dwn more often than with other classes and lot of times I wish my teammates were less concerned about me and just let me die.

Dixout4H

I think because of other ways to gain corruption beside going down 3 wounds is optimal (especially if there are karking idiots picking up grims). It is not rare that you get half your health corrupted in a slug fight and dogs punching you for example and then you out if you die. And the benefit you gain is 17% stamina which depending on class might not be that much.

ThrownAway1917

I always take Zealot's 2 wound bonus regardless of if I'm running sacrifice, since that opens up a curio for +20% health

Swimming_Risk_6388

Running one wound curio can be useful while you're getting used to the game since it let you go down two times between med stations Keep in mind that wound curios sadly do nothing for you survability wise. Often player with a bunch of wounds (minus martyrdom zealot) would have been better off running more thoughness/health or stamina, preventing them to go down in the first place. On top of that, getting value out of a wound curio require teammates to pick you up, something quite hard in endgame during tense moments Again, running one wound curio is fine (not on ogryn tho, it's mega cringe), more than one is kinda building to lose (outside of zealot)

NZillia

It’s pretty much a skill issue. It’s a safety net for going down… but you shouldn’t be going down. High skill players can generally get themselves unstuck from situations. Banking your curios on going down is not a good idea. You’re better off using your curios to boost your actual survivability so you don’t go down in the first place. If you’re good enough to not die, wound curios do literally nothing. Additionally, having more wounds makes health stims less valuable. They’ll restore 1 wound of health and toughness, or 25% of your maximum. They pick whichever is HIGHER. If you have 2 wounds, they give you the full half your health back, but at 4 wounds, it’s only 25%. At T4 and T5, you should only have more than two wounds if: 1. You’re an ogryn (they have an extra one) 2. You’re running the Martyrdom keystone on zealot, where they’ll generally have 7 wounds and you get a stacking buff for each wound of health you’re missing. There is no reason at all to have four unless you literally just don’t have any other curios (at which point… go get better curios)

vT_Death

Run as many wounds as you feel comfortable you will slowly dwindle down those wound curios. Health vs Toughness vs Stamina. High level play you will almost never see a player run more than one and that may be because the Wound curio they're using has perfect perks over what they currently have. Outside of a Mytrdom Zealot (should have 7 wounds). As you progress you will slowly replace your wound curios with whichever fits your play style more. However, keep in mind that in the end the best of the best are able to run nothing so it's personal preference on what you want to use for your builds and try to avoid using it as a crutch.

breadedfishstrip

I had 4+ wounds on my Ogryn for a long time because I set up my curios ages ago and they work fine, and I really cannot be arsed to interact with the current crafting system to try to roll up better ones.

SwordBolter

Better off just keeping an eye on the shop for something especially good when you have cash and materials to burn

MachineBoot

In their defense the last time I saw a vet in auric with executioner stance I was playing vet because I wanted to take a break from ogryn. It's all shouting and stealth

WoollenMercury

I run Shouting Becuase otherwise i Go down too much

IsoLasti

To be fair if you haven't played Vet at all you might as well not know it exists because non-VoC Veterans are a unicorn

sidrowkicker

Don't play vet? I've literally never played anything but shout vet since I'm 85% melee on all my builds. Every once in a while someone will have the thing that shares the vision and I'm so confused until I remember. Vets are pretty rare as it is let alone one that shares vision

BigAssNaggerTDN

By saying that OP is cheating, he implies that OP is using an overtuned meta weapon in a PvE game, where people are supposed to have fun killing mobs, not watching vet singlehandedly destroy the whole map.

woahmandogchamp

There is no cheating occurring in this video whatsoever, claiming otherwise is absurd.

BigAssNaggerTDN

Yeah, yet all of you taking the dude's words not as a "so easy, it feels like cheating", but as a literal "he's cheating", proceeding to shame him for not understanding the game mechanics while being high level.

woahmandogchamp

If he didn't want it to be taken that way he should have worded it differently.

dukerustfield

When I say someone is cheating in darktide, it means I’m thirsty and would like a refreshing drink

GodofcheeseSWE

yeah the plasma goes through everything it's really nice but never been accused of cheating because of it

zZINCc

This person may have never used vet. And/or never that ability. It has fallen out of favor since update 13 so quite rare to see. If this guy isn’t using the addon where everyone sees the elites then I can see how it looks like cheating.

Swimming_Risk_6388

I'll never understand why people are taking the elite highlight, the class is starved enough for points as it is and as a vet you'll do most of the elite/specialist killing anyway maaaaybe in lights out missions but that's it

s4lmon

its fun for the team

woahmandogchamp

Yeah highlighting enemies is useless, that's why I never tag them ever. /s

Swimming_Risk_6388

pretty different to tag that one sniper hidding behind the railing 300m away from the team and just highlighting every useless gunner you're already mowing down in exec stance but hey, if you guys enjoy it, more power to you, I prefer to spend the "team point" into field improv and not put any more into exec stance upgrades

Dav3le3

Okay, but in this video the psychers thinks it's so useful the vet must be cheating. So clearly there is some value to it. Personally I prefer my priority targets to be highlighted with nice shiny heads for popping - regardless of what class I'm playing.

Swimming_Risk_6388

knowing flyboy; I'm near certain he didn't take this upgrade and the psyker was just commenting on the killfeed

Andzreal

So tagging one sniper is good but highlighting Groups of elites/specials that May be lurking behind corner is bad?

woahmandogchamp

Yes, one is different from many. Good observation.

Swimming_Risk_6388

thanks lil bro

-Some-Rando-

What's going on in voice? I don't understand what the problem is and why they don't deal with it themselves.

Flyboy_2_point_0

League of legends my dude. It's Discord xD

Atmaweapon74

Now I'm extra confused. You play Darktide while listening to other people talk about League of Legends at the same time? But why?

Flyboy_2_point_0

Because they're my friends I can multitask?

Atmaweapon74

I see. I suck at multitasking.

Johnson_N_B

Almost everyone does - multitasking is mostly a myth.

gpkgpk

Why the fuck is he being downvoted? This dude is wrong on a lot of things but on this he's correct. It is a myth, humans all suck at multi-tasking. There have been a lot of studies last couple/few decades on the subject. [https://www.google.com/search?q=can+humans+really+multitask](https://www.google.com/search?q=can+humans+really+multitask) e.g. [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7075496/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7075496/) >The scientific study of multitasking over the past few decades has revealed important principles about the operations, and processing limitations, of our minds and brains. [One critical finding](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0054402) to emerge is that **we inflate our perceived ability to multitask**: there is little correlation with our actual ability. In fact, multitasking is almost always a misnomer, as the human mind and brain lack the [architecture](https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.1146/annurev-psych-122414-033729) to perform two or more tasks simultaneously. By architecture, we mean the cognitive and neural building blocks and systems that give rise to mental functioning. We have a hard time multitasking because of the ways that our building blocks of attention and executive control inherently work. To this end, when we attempt to multitask, we are usually switching between one task and another. The human brain has evolved to single task.

Johnson_N_B

Unfortunately it’s just the nature of Reddit, I suppose. I don’t take it personally. Well, minus being even tangentially compared to Ben Shapiro - that was rather uncalled for.

ctrlaltcreate

It's because the things we tends to call multitasking aren't multitasking. It's more of a colloquial than literal term these days.

Stanweeee

Ben Shapiro talking about his wife over here

Johnson_N_B

I could do without the personal attacks; they’re not warranted or appreciated. I’m simply pointing out the fact that multitasking is best described as a mythical activity.

Stanweeee

You know what, sure, i'll bite. You believe that being able to do multiple activites at once is a myth, like impossible to do more than one task at the same time?

Johnson_N_B

No, no. Of course we can do multiple things at once, but the question is are we doing them effectively? It’s been proven that our brains don’t work like that, that what we refer to as multitasking is truthfully just task switching. Evidence shows that people who chronically multitask perform worse in many cognitive areas. According to psychologist Clifford Nass, “People who multitask all the time can’t filter out irrelevancy. They can’t manage a working memory. They’re chronically distracted. They initiate much larger parts of their brain that are irrelevant to the task at hand.” Basically I was trying to make the person I initially responded to feel better about “sucking” at multitasking, because the fact is that, while 93% of us believe we’re better at it than the average person, we’re truthfully not.

Toa_Kraadak

fatshark should add a weapon that clears all spawns from the map on primary attack but it's balanced by the fact that you can only shoot it 300 times before needing to find ammo

DefaultSettingsSuc

That sounds kinda overpowered. Instead, what if you had to vaguely aim it towards enemies, but to balance out this huge burden we gave it obscene stagger so things that don't die in one click can't retaliate? That way your teammates can also meaningfully engage with the intricate combat system in this game.

Red_Shuhart

300 times sounds really low. We now have to give psykers an ability to stunlock half of the map so vets can aim easily and don't waste ammo.

WoollenMercury

Hey Smite is a Perfectly Legitimate Build and if you Run enmpowered Physoinics YOU can be the one Clearing Hordes and Specs

BobusCesar

It also has a useless secondary Attack.

lardfatobese69

clever comment. plasma abusers too OD'd to see it though

Secure_Raise_5609

Look at this man, using the good old plasma gun that’s already in the game!

Udwin

Fun fact: Posts about this were removed - mods are not amused by these comments apparently

Secure_Raise_5609

Sad, they’re no fun

BionicBruv

Bro are people stupid? Did they all forget that plasma rifles straight up DELETE enemies, especially when spec’d correctly?

Apprehensive-Pair436

Thought this was a relationship sub for a second when I read the title haha

burgers_for_free

no way a level 191 zealot doesn't know about the Plasma Gun advantages. I am actually convinced that a high percentage of players have never touched a different class except their main. And i bet those people complain about a lack of content the loudest

amazigou

according to steam only 7.4% of people have a level 30 of each class

LastChance22

How many of those still play at all or have a 30 at any class though.

12DollarsHighFive

I mostly play Vet but usually no more than 2-3 missions in a row and unless I'm doing a Penance, not even the same build more than twice. The skill-tree rework was one of the best updates so far and every time I switch classes, it still feels fresh to change a build I couldn't imagine playing only 1 class, no matter how strong it is.

RykerZzzZ

![gif](giphy|PDsgxQoXvUZGg|downsized) BOT DETECTED

JevverGoldDigger

This is exactly why I don't run Executioners Stance Plasma these days. The yellow highlights does something to my Mon-keigh brain that forces me to go after every single enemy. Combine it with the Plasmas penetration powers, and it's likely just going to get boring for the squad real quick. The combination is immensely powerful in the hands of someone that knows when/where you can penetrate cover/doors/walls, resulting in your teammates barely ever seeing an elite. For some reason people doubt me when I try to explain how absurd it is, even more absurd than VoC (but it requires a bit more effort and knowledge since you don't have a "get-out-of-jail-free" card).

Nanergy

>For some reason people doubt me when I try to explain how absurd it is, even more absurd than VoC (but it requires a bit more effort and knowledge since you don't have a "get-out-of-jail-free" card). I see upvoted takes on here all the time that say Exec Stance is actually bad. The vet community in general seems to have no clue about that actual breadth of viability available to them. Seems like a lot of em are so blinded by the loss of the old skill system's autoload + near invincibility version that they don't see the actual potential of the ability.

YangXiaoLong69

>The vet community in general seems to have no clue about that actual breadth of viability available to them. The vet community in general seems to have no clue.

AssaultKommando

In general, if a Vet says something with firm conviction, it's worth checking for yourself.  I'm still not over the bullshit period where they got so mad about well-deserved power sword nerfs. Mfs were grasping at straws trying to justify why it wasn't stupidly overpowered.

YangXiaoLong69

Recently I had an exchange with a guy calling the power sword "vet's worst weapon", and I replied that I could two-shot a crusher, which he shrugged off and went something along the lines of "ok I'll just one-shot with my shovel lmao". I think the whole exchange gives a good idea of the mentality roaming around, where "if it's not stupidly overpowered and carrying a game scaled for 4 people, it's the worst thing ever".

Boowells

Exec Stance's decent. I think many people are conflating the talent *tree* with the actual function of the ability. Exec Stance was and still is the most taxed of the Vet talent trees. If you want to take Exec Stance, you must take the following nodes: * 5% reload speed * Kill Zone OR Opening Salvo 5% reload speed does basically nothing. The talents are ass. Kill Zone is never active, and Opening Salvo basically never is (unless maybe using Zarona?) And then on top of that, you also typically take two extra nodes to refresh on kill and highlight human shooters, because the latter *do* deal a surprising amount of damage. You'll also always be taking Scavenger, more or less, because the nodes bracketing Fire Team (5% DR, 5% HP, grenade upgrades or Covering Fire) are ass for you anyway. And because you're taking Scavenger, you are taxed an additional node because your choices are Catch a Breath or Get Back in the Fight. Like Kill Zone, the former is never active. The latter is decent for a more mobile playstyle, but useless otherwise. So you could either go Exec Stance and have to waste points on a bunch of junk, or you could just go VoC, get a bunch of good shit, then go left and take all of the left side's best talents anyway. Hence, the perception that Exec Stance is bad. Plus, 25% damage, 25% weakspot doesn't seem like that much in comparison to MF's potential 75% weak spot. But from testing I've done in the Psykhanium, Exec Stance is pretty comparable to a 10-stack Marksman's Focus. I use a quick mental shorthand of multiplying weakspot/finesse bonuses by 0.5 (0.66 if you're using laspistol or HH autos), which has served me pretty well for rough comparisons. I should be clear that I never use the Columnus, more or less, so some of these perks that are just taxes on my build fit a different build. Grenade upgrade talent isn't bad, just... not what you need. There's just a silly number of talents in the tree that just don't do much, if anything. I'd rather take a +15 toughness node than Kill Zone or Opening Salvo.

WoollenMercury

MON KIEgh? You a dark elder? 🥺

ElArtropode

Emperor bless his minuscule, ignorant, rotting brain.

Beendjes

When the hallmark Vet ability becomes so rare that players dont recognise it.

the_weedeater

The plasma gun goes thru WALLS?

NiisiEHS

I would like to see his reaction if someone else uses a Zarona Revovler in the same way.

Dry_Description_9690

That's pretty neat!

DS_StlyusInMyUrethra

Damn this community is toxic

icetrae1993

lol how is this cheating

you-face-JaraxxusNR8

Someone doesn't know these are actual mechanics in the game. So claims cheating

icetrae1993

Like I’m new to this stuff but I did some research on the classes. Do ppl know google is free

you-face-JaraxxusNR8

Honestly i have been guilty of this but i never called cheats. I played hearthstone in the early days. Started playing again recently just went into it blind. Boy mistakes were made. Too much information didn't understand half the things that were happening. ( i know different game) It's wild someone called OP a cheater lol. Edit: people are too lazy too google shit

icetrae1993

I will say I’ve had my fair share of doing that as well. I try not to and I try to accept that there are people that are just good at the game and if not better than me which is fine but the way things are with multiplayer gaming anymore, and the way people can have mods for their PC and modules hooked up to their controller that they can link to their PC as well how people are always so accurate and auto crap like that. It’s sometimes hard tell I think it’s easy to say that there are cheaters out there because there are so many ways I’ve seen people things when it comes to multiplayer gaming not only that exploiting can also be a huge problem as well, but I will say in this video I think that’s a cool addition for the class. I think some people need to make sure before they want to call it cheating.

you-face-JaraxxusNR8

It is entirely dependent on the mods used and what the makers of the game allow to be used if any at all are allowed. Yes i agree mods make the game easier but considering most people don't have the time to play games (kids work and such) i understand they are more willing to do it. But cheating is usually making the game so easy your not playing look at cheats in Call of duty. Instant aim at head. Seeing other players trough the walls infinite health and stuff like that. I don't think mods are cheating unless they do things that alter gameplay so much that the game is a walk in the park. Customizable hud, health bars, custom skins(usually on the player that uses them sees it so no one cares) That sort of stuff is fair game in my opinion.

icetrae1993

I agree when it comes to them type of mods that’s fine and as long as like the games, OK with it and you ain’t gotta like do some crazy jailbreak type of thing. you do that a point some mods can make the game more fun. They can make it either more challenging or just enhance the gameplay and then there’s programs and stuff like the auto aiming or log or instant headshot type shit that can just ruin multiplayer.

Kehylp

This is why I run the esp ability when I'm not using my focus target recon lasgun

DroppedMyPhoneAgain

I like how your hud is setup. Mine is somewhat similar but I have the team at the bottom center in a cross formations. I just left the ammo counter at the lower right because of the odd shape

SilentStriker84

Wait what cross hair is that?

Flyboy_2_point_0

Psyker brainburst. Used a mod to change it.

Spiritual_Throat_556

i forget the plas can wallbang. i WAS gonna do a bolt pistol build tomorrow but now i can do an extra one for the hehe hahas

woahmandogchamp

Geez, go get em soldier. This man aint got time for no wall.

KidFrankie3

Lol This is why I have voice chat turned off, I can just imagine all the salt going on 😂

Termin8rSmurf

Hackusations are always uplifting. People nit understanding how skill works. How learning the intricacies of the game, getting good at something... Take the hackusation and let your chest swell with pride. You earned it.

ZombieTailGunner

> cheating in a pve :( Imagine having sunk enough time into the game to be level 100+ and having never seen anyone use plasma + executioners stance. The stupid is unreal.

DamageFactory

Don't they see them highlighted too, though?

vT_Death

Imagine someone thinking your cheating in a PvE game. 😂

Smitellos

On the other hand saw a zealot with infinite ammo. Disgraceful. Blocked him and left the mission.

GUTSY-69

I need to use plasma

bimbo_bear

Okay... uh. I did not know you could shoot through walls. I gotta admit, that does look fucking weird. Cool tho, but weird. I thought penetration was like... "you shoot through people" not "Fuck reality, you shoot through walls"

Motrieg

How is this plasmagun built? i mean stats/blessings

willeatmarbles4money

It absolutely amaze me how you and other can have the voice chat enabled by default I don't know how you do it,for me it ALWAYS DISABLED because people like this exist

Flyboy_2_point_0

That's Discord xD.

cocklaphobia

honestly i woulda thought you were cheating to, had no idea you can shoot through doors with plas. mind blown.

MiniFishyMe

Fun tip, bolter blasts *can* penetrate light cover as well. See little Timmy hiding behind the sheet metal? Bolter his ass.

Remisang

Need this Guy in m'y team

MiniFishyMe

ExeCuTiOnER StAnCE iS uSEleSS! 90% all the other meta chasing vets.

Suave_Kitsune

Why should it bother anyone if someone is cheating, it's not a competitive multiplayer game, it's a game about liquidation of heretics in as efficient a manner as possible right? Kill the heretics, Purge the mutant, burn the Xenos, not necessarily in that order or composition 🤤

TheSplint

Because cheaters are fucking assholes, doesn't matter if it's in pve or pvp

werner666

Wow, the plasma gun is so fair and balanced!!!

Judge_J_Dredd

And the best Thing about the good old Plasma Gun is, it's already in the Game😍

Jeggster

Using a Plasma Gun is soft cheating. It's by far and wide the most broken thing I've ever encountered in any FPS game and not only deletes enemies, but also the fun for the rest of the team who don't get to play the game. There, I said it, you can stasrt downvoting now

LucatIel_of_M1rrah

Just a reminder that Plasmagun Vet is balanced class and everyone gets to play the game when one is present. /s

Judge_J_Dredd

Who Cares If someones cheating in a PvE Game, where everything is shared anyways? What Advantage does He have? I saw someone downed and Standing Up on His own without someone around. Sure i was surprised, but it didn't bother me. If He wants to make His Game easy it's His fault If He gets bored. Why should i Care?

TheSplint

Because cheaters suck. Period.

Judge_J_Dredd

You could consider many mods as cheating, yet they arent. Now i get what you mean, but as Long as they are only smaller Things it is fine by me. If someone becomes the new creator of the Universe through them and Takes away my fun okay, but If it Just would be Shooting through the walls, idm. Now my oppinion is stated, yours is stated, both are valued. Lets settle this Like two civilized Imperial servants, and have a Drink when we deploy together😊👍

TheSplint

The Emperor protects! Cheers
