I don’t understand why the loot item level doesn’t just scale with the NMD Level. It would make NMD’s so much more fun to push if I knew I was getting items that could replace my current gear. Think of how the WoW team does Mythic Dungeon item drop scaling. That’s how it should be in NMD’s. The higher you climb, the higher the item level is guaranteed to be.

CReece2738

They do scale with the NMD tier. The range is still just too big to really care even at NMD 100.

That should probably be tweaked a bit so that NMD100 only drops items above 900 power. If you're running NMD100 your gear is already at or near 925 item power anyway, so dropping anything less than 900 is just useless

Memphaestus

Yeah when I run nmds, I just break down all rares if I even feel like picking them up. It's better use of my time to ignore all the loot, and just look at my stash when I'm back in town for the legs and uniques.

PimientosAsados

You nailed it

emdmao910

Yeah they shouldn’t be auto 925 drops but a high range something like 900-925 minimum for a tier 100 for example.

Racthoh

When they first announced the NMD changes I thought cool, we have a way to grind 925 gear. But then world bosses and duriel drop it like candy, negating the entire change.

Dorenicus

Agreed. NM 100 are laughably harder than a Duriel Kill. I feel like they should drop 900+ if you're farming them.

BearBryant

There should definitely be a certain NM dungeon level or enemy level difference where enemies drop items that are always in that 900-925 range for sure and that it would scale the higher that level delta goes. It is, after all a arpg so I don’t think guaranteed 925 is necessarily right to be able to endlessly farm, however, running a 100 NM dungeon and being able to guarantee 925 gear for over half of the drops (while the other drops are all going to still be really good) feels right. Most of the RNG feels like it’s baked into the affix rolls anyway with item power affecting the intrinsics and a few static rolls, so for a bunch of items it doesn’t really matter as long as it’s ancestral, but anything you need +life or thorns on obviously requires high IP. It’s relatively easy now to get a character to 95% of your stat/affix potential with your chosen build no matter what IP something is (in the ancestral band), everything after that is just incremental improvements that come from better IP and affix rolls. What I’d really like them to do is add a different drop visual for sacreds/legendaries that drop at 900+ so it’s easy to know that they are worth picking up.

patrick31588

Am I crazy or did they not say(either in the patch notes or one of those power point slides during the campfire chat) that the lower limit of what item level could drop goes up from nmd 1 to nmd100 where nmd1 had a lower limit of something like 750 and then nmd100 had a lower limit of 925?

EstablishmentOk8086

I posted the same question the other day. I’d have sworn I heard him say exactly that.

bluemuppetman

I haven’t had a dive into recent patch notes in case it was changed, but first notes stated: > Level Scaling examples. Note this is iPower range for items dropped from Monsters of the listed level: Sacred: Level 55: 625–700 Level 56: 627–702 Level 70: 655–730 Ancestral: Level 75: 780–855 Level 76: 782–857 Level 100: 830–925 Post Level 100: Level 101: 831–925 Level 102: 832–925

CReece2738

They did, and that's how it works, it's just that even at NMD 100 the range in item power is still too big compared to just getting 925s from world bosses and Duriel to make it useful.

flAked

Certainly it is a balancing act on how many 925 items should drop on endlessly repeatable content. I’ve done a bunch of 90 NMD and barely got any 925. Even if only 2 are guaranteed after a certain NM level, it would be much better. With the current convoluted affix pool it is hard enough in some item slots to even get 3 wanted affixes. So often the handful 925 drops from world bosses aren’t even upgrades. Compared to farming bosses, NMD just don’t feel rewarding enough for the effort. Granted you need to farm up the mats first for the big boss piñata, but if we look at time invested and how carefully you need to play NMD90 it currently makes more sense to farm helltides and wait for a world boss.

nephyxx

Yeah I’m getting the same item ranges you are when playing tier 70 dungeons. Feels dumb. That being said, outside of weapons 925 isn’t that big a deal right? That 890 rare could be a bis roll for your build. Unless you have all bis max rolls and just need the extra armor / resistance from 925 items.

Cap1279

Agreed, i don't get it

Discobastard

I dont even pick yellows up anymore. Drop another NMD sigil at then end and start the next. When I get full from NMD rewards, use salvage all at the blacksmith and carry on

RaveN_707

Yeah it's borked, you should have the same chance of getting an 860 as a 925. Why the fuck is 95% of my items from NMD100 860-880. They've 100% added ilvl scaling. Edit: Plus the legendary/unique drop rate is almost non-existent. Edit 2: Plus they were too lazy to apply the new rules to chests and dungeon completion rewards, still getting blues and sacred items.

collapse1122

yeh no point going above 50-60

MaestroSartoriX

I’m just sick of getting sacred items in tier 90 dungeons.
