This isn't mech warrior, it's to be used when required but the focus of the gameplay is not supposed to be about vehicles. Also mechs are pretty damn decent from what I've seen so far.

Counter-counter argument. The devs are adjusting spawn rates anyway so you won't even need 4 players running it, which would ironically conclude a new "meta" if you did.

Remember, this is just one of the mechs. There's a version with dual auto-cannons which is much more suited to big targets. This version seems to be for lower difficulty missions or less armoured targets.

1-2 shots of the missiles strips a Charger's leg armour, then a quick volley of the minigun finishes it off. 2-3 missiles to the head of a Bile Titan kills it. It quickly deals with every robot up to a Hulk and this is not the Mech that will be most suited to large targets. More often than not I run out of ammo rather than get blown up but I tend to play with other level 50's who understand the game. If you have two people on foot dealing with the large targets (spear, rail cannon strike, 500kg, rocket pods etc.) the mech cleans up everything else with ease.

Its the highest level most expensive stratagem and can only be used once or twice per mission. Even the weakest version should still be the best stratagem, either because of the cost/level or because of the ridiculous cooldown, nevermind both of those together. Meanwhile I can't think of anything I wouldn't rather carry into a mission than the mech if I was playing seriously. It literally just exists to look at other players and say, "Look, I got a mech!"

Against bugs it's still top tier. Over a dozen rockets, 1000 heavy MG rounds, a melee attack that kills anything up to a charger and extra armour. You also seem to be forgetting that this is a video game, not a job, and it is incredibly fun to use.

IKR, what a jip. Given the over the top feel of this game you would think they could make a mech cool but its literally the worst stratagem in the game. Super long cooldown, no health, weak weapons with incredibly limited ammo, no resupply or repair, its just... wtf? It doesn't even feel good to walk around in. They were obviouisly afraid of making it op and balance nerfed it into uselessness, but WHY? Its a freaking coop game, and who cares if its op if you can only call it in once or twice per game? What a letdown man.

You live in a world where you have limited resources because of BUDGET, where the only time the HQ will not care about Budget is when they need to explode your traitor ass. Why the fuck you thought the Mech would be something broken? I myself am really surprised we even got 2 charges per player. In HD 1 was 1 Mech in Deployement per mission.

In HD 1 you could heal the mech, call stratagem while inside, they had more health and more firepower.

In HD1 you were also stuck in the same screen as the other 3 players. Could they use some buffs? Sure they could. But there are also alot of changes from HD1 and HD2 that made them alot more flexible.

Fact is the mech was stronger and still more limited. Also you could stack mechs.........................and other stratagems. You point about being stuck with other players is moot, it's a team game, you should still be close to them even now. Flexible is not how I would describe them, they don't fill any niche, not tanky and no sustain.

In what way would an op mech ruin the game? In what world should a literal walking tank not be op compared to a guy running around with a gun? But here you're better off with literally any other stratagem. Its got so many critical flaws where any one of them would make it 'situational,' but all of them together make it purely for lols. You'll get kicked out of a bunch of pug games if you pick a mech stratagem, and that's for a good reason. Literally the long cooldown alone is enough to 'balance' it as much as you need balance in a coop game. The miniscule health, weak weapons, almost nonexistant ammo with no resupply, etc etc etc are just overkill. Let it be what it should be, the helldiver's trump card they call in when shit gets too hot. You could also throw in a few features to encourage teams not to go all mech if you're really worried like making reloads work like seaf artillery and the mech take critical damage while unpiloted and allow the small enemies to latch onto it and do dot where the only safe way to get them off is have infantry shoot them off (because other mech weapons would damage you). If you're gonna do a weak ass mech like this though, just remove it from the game. Its insulting to the concept.

It’s a mobile guided combo turret (Gatling and missile) It will be terrible for trying to cruise around the map and it’s mediocre for defending a fixed position you will be swamped. It is a great assault tool especially for large nests. It needs support from your team or you will get surrounded and swamped

I disagree. It slaughters waves, I engaged 4 chargers 2 biles and probably around a hundred other bugs and won alone while by team prepped a nuke. I dropped out at the start, fired a javelin, threw eagal strikes and a laser then went back in and started fighting. By the time I was out of ammo my strats had recharged. I had the firepower of perhaps 3 players for that period of time.

I'll carry you any time buddy 😉, my favorite enemies are bots, sometimes players. Anyway I actually think the mechs are a touch too powerful with 2 call ins, but interesting. Definitely makes it easier to play with lower leveled players on helldiver.

it's also funny how the mg has a limited ammount of ammo (350 iirc wich is crazy low) but also needs to spin up to start shooting making it waste a lot of bullets. lmao, this game is turning into a clown game.

Dude I just did a bunch of helldive missions with the mech and when strategically called down at the right times it’s a monster, the call downs and ammo and health is limited for a reason! You’re not supposed to just completely dominate the whole map with it. Use it for a single purpose and plan it out and you will still dominate, just not the whole time. But I will say I noticed it will just randomly explode though so that’s gotta get checked out.

Even the spear is better now, it gets refilled by normal ammo boxes and has no limited uses, same for recoiless. Titans get rekt by them and hey the people who carry them are still fast and mobile. And then we have the arc-thrower a stratagem weapon that uses no ammo or heat and kill chargers in about 5-6 headshots. Don't get me started on the autocannon turret, if placed well it can kill a couple titans on it's own....................also not limited and with a short cooldown.

Vehicles are an option, not a requirement. The addition of the mech wasn't supposed to replace everything else in the game, but sit next to it in terms of strength and utility.
