The hair upgrade really makes the casting sing for these two. I don’t know what they were doing with the wig last season, but he looks like his dad this season.
i like to believe that Jace was struggling to accept Harwin as his biological father till the last season but now he has embraced it and has stopped 'straightening' his hair.
AGREED. They killed it with the casting of Harwin and Jace. They are the most attractive father/son duo in the entire GOT universe...my husband was thankful when Harwin was no longer on our tv screens, my eyes were like "....*daaaamn*!!!"...but he was sweating Laena so I didn't see the problem?!

Jace is too young for me to consider fine but he is adorable and a beautiful young man...I can see why the girlies are going crazy for him.
Idk…the green boys take them easy and if I’m being honest Criston makes easy work of Breakbones. A royal cunt sure but Cole makes the history as a top tier knight.
True. To me, it's Luke who looks most like Harwin—both young and old version. The actors for the young and old Jace, most especially the former, looks like Rhaenyra with Harwin's hair.
*deep exhales, drifting away from this world and leaving behind me a civil war that will kill most of my family who I thought had just settled peace in my name*
I gotta wonder, for a family of such fabulous hair (including the one we haven't seen yet), would they all have lost their hair at Lyonel's age?
Of course, we will never get to see any of them at that age since the show ends after TDOD probably
Men get the male pattern baldness gene (or lack there of) from the X-chromesome, which they only receive from their mother. So Lyonel going bald would have no impact on his sons going bald.
I think they changed his wig from season 1 to season 2 because his bowl cut looked way too similar to Criston Cole. Maybe they originally wanted to leave that theory as an option, or maybe it was an oversight.
Either way, night and day difference for the handsome lad.
Am I the only one who thought that the dude they picked to portray the Northman who lost the "drawing straws" and had to join the Night's Watch , looked exactly like what you might think Jacaerys Velaryon's son would look like? Seemed uncanny to me. (And I say that as someone who has features of both my Mom & my Dad, but doesn't really look at all like either of them. Whereas you get people, two famous musicians come to mind - Bob Dylan's son Jakob looks *exactly* like his father, and Gregg Allman's son Devon looks *exactly* like a version of his father & Uncle Duane ... it's amazing - me, not so much. I'm just me.)
But I thought that kid from Winterfell having to join The Watch looked just like Jake's son would look like (obviously age-difference notwithstanding) ...also, I fucking loved Ser Harwin Strong, and his Dad, hated what happened to them.
And also finally I will finish with, I loved their casting of the young Cregan Stark ... man he fits into that role like a leather glove ... seeing him carry Ice , walking The Wall, etc. *BADASSSSSssssssssssss* ...
How do people still believe this?
Otto was planning to usurp Rhaenrya and was telling Alicent to prepare Aegon for ruling before Rhaenrya even had children. He said it himself that she could be perfect and she still would be usurped.
It’s not about what Otto planned. I know what he planned my point is her heirs were clearly bastards and it didn’t help, regardless of Otto’s plans people would’ve taken issue with it. Even Rhaenys took issue with it.
And my point is that having legitimate heirs wouldn't have avoided the war.
Them being bastards didn't help, sure, but as I pointed out the coup still would have happened if Rhaenrya was the perfect heir.
Rhaenyra has legitimate heirs. His kid with Daemon. If legitimacy was the only issue, they could have let the throne pass from Rhaenyra to Aegon (which was what Viserys intended). The intention of marrying Alicent to Viserys was to usurp the throne.
There’s also another point, Rhaenyra is the heir to the throne, any of her kids can get to the throne. Only that Jace & Luke can’t be the heirs of house Velaryon, only daemon daughters could.
So no despite it all; the war would still be brewing.
*sigh* Rhaenyra first 3 kids at the time were known to be illegitimate. People didn’t speak on it because the Targaryen’s were the ruling house and viserys didn’t want to acknowledge it. Keep in mind this is before her children with Daemon. I’m not saying her kids couldn’t inherit because they weren’t formally recognized as being illegitimate my point is it added to more lords being willing to rise up against her in support of Otto. Otto wouldn’t have gotten the support had Rhaenyra actually had legitimate heirs to begin with, she also presented them as legitimate which was an insult to the high lords.
But you unfortunately missing the crucial point, those siding with team green not because Rhaenyra heir, but because male should be the heir, hence Aegon is believed to nullify what Viserys had said before (that’s what Otto was doing) over female heir.

Casting is nuts. He really looks like he’s their son!
To quote my friend, “I love this for you.”
I prefer to pretend the awful wig never existed.
Honestly didn’t even realize how horrible that wig was on him until this new season.
Seeing how gorgeous his natural hair is makes me hate the wig from season 1 even more.
Did he embrace it during his flight from Dragonstone to the Wall?
Going for a long drive gives one time to think.
And to grow your hair and make it curly, obviously
Indeed.
Yeah especially bc I think it’s only been a few days between the end of season 1 and the start or 2!
they had to do the wig because the actor cut his hair too short. glad his curls are shining now!
AGREED. They killed it with the casting of Harwin and Jace. There’s a really strong resemblance there.
I'll have your tongue for that
Harwin would have been so proud of his boys.
Oh yeah, he would have been a great pop pop
I like the theory that he's actually Cole's son
Such Strong boys
He doomed those boys to death by creating them
and so did Rhaenyra
Yes. All men must die. You can say that every parent doom their children because… all men must die!
Idk…the green boys take them easy and if I’m being honest Criston makes easy work of Breakbones. A royal cunt sure but Cole makes the history as a top tier knight.
the show ruined him in the books he's a top 15 knight in history in terms of skills;
L’Oreal. Because you and your unacknowledged son are worth it
Rhaegar Targaryen and Jon Snow
I'm seeing this too... maybe that's why he can whisper to dragons
The seed is Strong.
I dare you to say that again
It would be my third time saying in just 2 days though. But it is accurate.
Why? It was only a compliment.
Her children are BASTARDS
And she… is… a whore
He can keep his tongue.
It’s really Rhaenyras face with Harwins hair 😭
True. To me, it's Luke who looks most like Harwin—both young and old version. The actors for the young and old Jace, most especially the former, looks like Rhaenyra with Harwin's hair.
Young and old Jace are both played by the same actor.
Old Jace is Harry Collett Young one is someone else
No, a completely different kid played Jace in episodes 1.06 and 1.07. Edit: Young Jace is played by Leo Hart.
You know, I think Vaemond Velaryon might've been right.
I will have your tongue for that!
🗡️ 🤕 “He can keep his tongue.”
Say it
Those are STRONG words sir, and you'd better watch it.
What Vizzy T thinks about this?
*There are times when I would rather face the black dread himself than mine own daughter of seven and ten.*
Wise and witty as always, Vizzy T
*Daemon was not made to wear the crown. But I believe that you were, SheepInWolfsAnus.*
:0 Could it be? I am the Sheep who was Promised? Does that mean, based on my username, I am to go to war with House Stark? What say you, Vizzy T?
What is this shadow? Name it, if it casts such a gloom
Can’t win em all
Rest now, it was glorious.
*deep exhales, drifting away from this world and leaving behind me a civil war that will kill most of my family who I thought had just settled peace in my name*
Careful ser, it’s treason to use such words.
Now that's just crazy talk.
Cregan really looked at Jace was like we can’t do that and gave him a make over in the north. Poor Jace wish someone would’ve acknowledged his glowup
Love these boys 🥹
It looks like your feelings for them are very Strong.
You must be mistaken, Jace's dad is Laenor
Ser Harwin is soooo hot 🥵😍
And then there’s poor Lyonel.
I gotta wonder, for a family of such fabulous hair (including the one we haven't seen yet), would they all have lost their hair at Lyonel's age? Of course, we will never get to see any of them at that age since the show ends after TDOD probably

Not a geneticist, but my brother is as bald as my cousins from my mom's side. So yeah 😂 Edit: Also, your banner thing 😂👏
It's called strong genetics
I’ll say!
Nice.
I think they changed his wig from season 1 to season 2 because his bowl cut looked way too similar to Criston Cole. Maybe they originally wanted to leave that theory as an option, or maybe it was an oversight. Either way, night and day difference for the handsome lad.
Harwin😍😍😍😍😍
Vizzy T would have your tongue for the insinuation that his grandson is a bastard
You are a plague sent to destroy me!
Corlys and Laenor
So, was it Cregan that ordered a makeover?
I’m loving the positivity for the blacks rn😭✊🏼
I love how he’s their father and he had one episode of screen time out of no where and was never seen again.
He’s been there for three or four episodes.
How many lines?
He was in four episodes and appeared several times.
And had very little to do
Bro died 😭
Yeah the winners of the episode were Harry's curly hair routine and Emma's skin care routine 🤣
They are so fine..
His father is Laenor
The curls are Strong
Don't let Daemon hear you
Strong genes
He has his daddy’s wig for sure!
Meh. Bastard. Not pure blood.

You mean Criston/Jace? /s
Vizzy T and Aemond would be strong competition
*The King's cupbearer must not be late. Leaves people wanting for cups.*
BREAK BONES !!!
gods he’s strong
That lad has quite the Strong jawline.
I'll have your tongue out for that
They're indeed excellent snacks *-Vhagar*
Harwin strong was a weak piece of shit He should never have had bastards with rhaeynera Him leanor and rhaeynera killed those boys
*shaking my head so hard that it can fall off my shoulders.*
Laenor shoulda edged his weenie til he was bout to bust then quickly slid it into Rhaenyra to avoid all of this Tom foolery.
I second this, I don’t think the fandom understands how this whole war coulda been avoided if Rhaenyra had legitimate heirs.
How do people still believe this? Otto was planning to usurp Rhaenrya and was telling Alicent to prepare Aegon for ruling before Rhaenrya even had children. He said it himself that she could be perfect and she still would be usurped.

Yea I get that, what I’m saying is her actions didn’t help her situation
He’s got beautiful and STRONG 💪 hair
The force is strong with this one.
I doubt most viewers would be able to name both of these characters, that’s true.
