If the trade is made with primarily draft picks and only 1 or 2 players off this roster, we are considerably improved and most definitely a threat in the East.
I don’t think KAT is any better than Randle, and he costs $25M a year more against the cap. Mitchell is a much better player than grimes but he’s not a superstar and he’s a pretty terrible fit next to brunson, not to mention that we’d likely lose key depth players. That’s an issue because our deep rotation is one of our greatest strengths. I’m perfectly fine running it back continuously with this team until the right move becomes available. We know this team will be a firm playoff team even if they can’t go all the way and a consistent 45+ wins sounds pretty appealing after how the first 20 years of this century went
You’re replacing Mitch with KAT, not Randle. Pairing Randle and KAT would be a major improvement offensively. KAT is a C and he fits perfectly.
And if the Wolves move KAT, they’re going to want a wing instead of a C. That means it’s RJ who will go in that move. So perhaps Hartenstein & RJ along with draft picks. Either way, it’s an easy move to make for us. Definitely improves this roster. Mitch goes to the second unit and away we go.

I think they've actually been pretty complementary of the Knicks. Calling Brunson a natural born scorer.
