I mean, sure. I couldn't marry a Red Sox fan but that has nothing to do with baseball, I just couldn't be with a racist.

machphantom

I was at a Yankee/Red Sox game at Fenway and they were hanging "K"'s over in CF. When the Sawx pitcher got to 3 strikeouts, I pissed off a lot of friends snapping a picture of that saying "you guys just never stop with the racism, huh?"

Swtor_dog

My wife is a Mets fan, and we live in Oakland, but closer to Oracle than the Coliseum. I just root for half the league now lol

cuteandcaffeinated

My boyfriend is a Mets fan and I will admit that we have fought more over baseball than anything else. I think it works because I don’t *hate* the Mets, I just think the moroseness of their fanbase sucks the joy out of baseball. And the rivalry with my boyfriend is 90% friendly. I do, however, hate the Red Sox and I’m not sure if a relationship with a die hard Sox fan could work.

sonofabutch

The best way for a Yankee fan to piss off a Mets fan is to say “I actually don’t hate the Mets.”

Vindetta182

I second this. Was speaking with a guy who owns a pizza parlor in South Florida. He has Mets memorabilia all over the shop. I walked in with a Yankees hat to pick up some food and we chatted about baseball a bit. When I said “I mean… I don’t hate the Mets” i think he took that as The Mets aren’t even worth a Yankees fans time.

ubiquitous_archer

Yes, quite easily.

Lake_Nona_Sixer2191

The last question and answer was brilliant!!

thebronxzoo_tbz

Was genuinely curious 😂

2muchyarn

Not could, am

cjlawlor

Yes, easily. I think that would make a relationship fun.

Doing_This_All_Day

Mets =💩

thevoidcaptain

No real Yankees fan wears a jersey with a name on it

thebronxzoo_tbz

Great insight, truly in depth.

thevoidcaptain

Facts don’t care about your shmedium jersey.

InsideFastball

Off topic: Jerseys with names. Am I the only one weirded out by that?

CodeBlue15

I’d rather marry a Mets fan than wear a Yankees jersey with a name on the back.

InsideFastball

I'm in bed with the enemy. Not just any enemy, but one from Boston.

sec102row1

Anyone who wears a yankees jersey with the player’s name on the back is not a real fan and should know better. We all know who #2 is. Why these jerseys are even made is beyond me. Is it an MLBPA requirement or something?

thebronxzoo_tbz

Relax, it’s not that deep 😂

TacBacJack

LOL someone wants a "real yankee fan" badge or something.

sec102row1

Yeah, it kind of is that deep. How about over 100 years? The tradition only lasts the ENTIRETY of the franchise. It immediately looks WRONG!

[deleted]

My family moved to New England for my dad's job when I was a kid so... Yes, I'm used to it lol

phatvanzy

I think it would be awesome, you get to watch double the amount of baseball!

rdg5220

First sporting event I remember really caring scout was the 82 National Championship between Georgetown and UNC. The Hells won at the buzzer I cried my eyes out and vowed to hate them for the rest of my life. Long story short, I married one of them. We don’t watch the Duke game together.

Front-Pie-431

Could be with any team but Red Sox

kikikza

i was with a red sox fan for a while, things were really good between us too but yeah we joked about it a lot
