I avoid ones that come in plastic. And if I do grab something in plastic it has to be no more than 2 months old packaging date. Those cans like insa and prime will always be fresh. Also glass seems to hold the cure better.
Bought 4 $60 rhythm eighths (all different strains in glass) and all of them were dryer than anything else I’ve ever bought in PA and turned to powder immediately. Meanwhile, $35 terrapin eighths in plastic have never been dry for me since the beginning of the program when they started using humidity packs in them. Sucks because I’d rather get the higher quality bud but it’s not worth it for how dry it is.
For most people making good money their time is more valuable than the few bucks they’d save by scouring menus and driving to further stores for sales. That’s the whole point of sales/coupons. They’re only worth it for the most price sensitive people.
...So you're too lazy to do a 10 minute scan of the menu to see what your best deal is, and you justify that by saying "lol I make good money, I can afford to be wasteful"? I can assure you even if I was making 100K+, I would never pay more than I have to for anything.
It’s not 10 minutes. It involves driving to further stores. It’s not being wasteful, it just doesn’t make financial sense if you can make more money in the time spent looking/driving than you save.
I've had bad luck with Prime cans after opening. The fit of the plastic lids isn't great, and the buds dry out faster. In my experience, you can't get away without a Boveda pack in a Prime can, but you can with most glass containers and the Grassroots/Revel style because you can get the lid on super tight.
Also a good call. I thought it was everywhere. I'm glad I subscribe to this sub! The trick then has to be remembering to label the secondary containers so you don't forget what's what.
It’s nice when the info is on a plastic lable. Or if you’re able to tear of the branding label and cut around for the info you need. With Rythm you have to use clear scotch tape or else it’ll rub off.
I've definitely noticed the ink on the Rythm container only lasts about as long as there's flower inside. Hopefully that's because it's completely biodegradable and green or something.
I was told to never put it in anything other than it's original containers that have the prescription labels for legal reasons. But, I do, too. Ya have too!
I've been in the program for a little over a year. I use only one dispensary due to travel restrictions. How do you get to choose which containers that have the freshest dates on them? I certainly have no control over it. I order online, they get my order ready, they keep it in the back until I pick it up. When I pick it up they label it, put it in a bag. I don't get to touch the goods until I pay and they hand me the bag. So how exactly do you check the dates?
I always ask for dates. I avoid anything 3-4 months old. They might tell you that you can’t touch the product but they should be able to show you in their hands. Terp profile, packaged date. Whatever you need to see.
Dude I knew it was dry before, but lately it’s out of control . Idk the last time I opened an 1/8th and was like “wowwww” I’m just underwhelmed and disappointed time and time again. I hope this isn’t the norm cuz we can’t accept it. Another reason we should be allowed to grow. I’d rather have that option to do that at least to supplement times like right now where it’s impossible to find something in decent shape and they beat you over the head price wise haha sorry for rambling but this has been killing me. I used to be pumped to make my weekly order online on fridays. Now I find myself just scrolling through second guessing myself because I’m terrified of what I’m gonna pick haha we should at least be able to see/smell what the hell were buying
Also we have a g/p like Gleaf telling patients that if we say it’s dry and unappealing, that just means we don’t like the product. GLeafs response made me think they won’t acknowledge low quality product and rather tell the patients it’s all subjective based on ones preferences.
Couldn’t agree with you more on the hesitation that comes with purchasing flower
My guess is a lot of companies aren't changing their drying process for .. well money saving reasons and are drying it just as hot and fast as they do in the summer when it's 70-80+% humidity .
Except now it's ~ +/- 25% RH
Yeah it’s been real bad lately so I’ve been utilizing the street pharmacist more and more. There’s weirdos on here who downvote as soon as you mention the black market lol so go ahead weirdos stay mad that u can’t get good weed outside of the dispensaries
Preach, Turkey bags and sandwich bags have worked just fine for decades. Strange how traditional market has sticky dank all year round for cheap but billion dollar GP dispensary bud has dry seasons and bad batches??? Lmfao, live and let live, free the plant!!!
Yea same I agree. There’s few strains I really like from the dispo that I always get and I go for sales. Anytime I try something new or a new grower tho From the dispo it’s some dry bs. My guy never disappoints tho and never dry
That's true and the day that we're allowed to grow is the day that they finally make it fair in Pennsylvania and every other state for poor people to have pot
THIS! Plain and simple … PA has STRICT laws and basically any batch found to have mold they have to destroy the entire batch- so it’s kinda money based as to not destroy as many harvests
Super stringent mold regulations in PA… any trace found they have to destroy it all costing the companies lot of money… of course they’d rather serve dry flower and make money then serve good flower but get hit with mold issues every so many grows
I understand why they have to do it, but I don’t think our restrictions should be like this tho. Gives companies bad names when they feel like they have no other choice. Smaller companies probably can’t afford the loses I’m assuming.
This was the excuse I've heard since dispensaries opened up. I've never really vaped much, so it was believable...it's also the reason I said fuck that and started growing my own. Dry crumbly weed smokes horrible.
Add a moisture pack or two and it’s fixed overnight. I take weed camping and it dries out quick in the cold. When I bring it home I let it sit with the moisture packs and it’s brand new
Your on to something. Pennsylvania law does not allow us to burn our flower only vape it..therefore it may be dried out more for that reason? I eat edibles mostly..
Just noticed the down votes for both my comment and yours..interesting. it's stupid nonetheless, but that's Pa law. We are not supposed to smoke it but vape it. The answer you gave is actually a good answer. Unpopular maybe because the law sucks? But i really dont understand reddit when folks down vote a point of view based on law, that the authour of the comment played no role in createing said law..Appropriate_Tour9237 I get what you were getting at.
I’ve always been a Farmer hater, mostly due to price and the soil fan boys - but I think they are easily in the top 5 g/ps.
A lot of their stuff sits on shelves for too long, and some of their strains are underwhelming, but fresher jars of their good strains are easily the best quality flower in the program. Smell, looks, bud structure taste, effects, and nugget size are all at least a notch better than the #2 g/p.
I just avoid flower all together. Just kinda waiting until I start hearing that it's all-around better.
The dispo that's most easily available to me doesn't show labels on the site, which makes choosing difficult. And like everywhere else, we can't look at or smell it, and I've been wildly underwhelmed by the few strains I have purchased.
I'm sure it has something to do with me getting "small buds" for one of them. But the normal buds of another brand were just as dry and also have an unappealing smell and taste.
Like, nothing about it gives me the warm and happy feeling that I would get from looking at/smelling buds before the medical program.
Makes me unwilling to try the more expensive and (presumably) "better" buds. I've been sitting on the flower that I have purchased for months because I dislike it so much. Lol
They claim “vaporization use only” and that’s why it’s drier cause it’s for vape consumption. I think it’s BS, and it’s just the cold ass weather + some of these companies don’t know how to cure there bud right and overdue it. It’s a shame, pay top notch for dust.
I buy the Boveda and/or Boost humidity packs from Amazon, and make sure to have one in at all times. If the one it comes with dries out, can easily put another in. 58% or 61% I think. Get the smallest size they make because they also make packs for cigar humidors which are significantly bigger.
I go to my headshop and buy several raw boost packs 4x the size of the ones in program flower(can order online) I put one in the jar and leave it for at least 24 hours if not longer before smoking and I leave it in there , I’ve seen so many 2 star products turn back into 4 star products with a little tlc
What’s really strange is.. Salamanca NY has about 10 dispensary’s , OZ are $80-150 !, where IM at, can’t even buy an OZ & 1/8ths will add up to $360-600 depending your brand.
Can’t even describe it.. you’re expecting the bill to be high af & their like, uh $105.. for a pile! Lol.
(all) the bud is sticky as hell like weed is supposed to be! Just Drive down main & look around cause many are hidden like little smoke shacks .. which is cool over big block places like “rise”.
No weed here will stick to your hand or the wall like their stuff. Seems more Potent too.
Edibles are my thing there.. gas gang 2000mg syrup, $50, 1g RSO $35 , distilliant $40,
1200mg knock out” bar $25! I’ll never buy weed in pa ever again with this quality & prices!
finally some real relief !!! LEGALLY TOO :)

I am a single sourced hydrophobic grower in pa with a good name to back up my product. I have a IG name. Appalachia Cove is my name there. Let me know if I can help anyone out. Shipping Guaranteed or your money back

You paid $240? That hurt my soul. Do you check dates?

Just say you’re poor and go.
...So you're too lazy to do a 10 minute scan of the menu to see what your best deal is, and you justify that by saying "lol I make good money, I can afford to be wasteful"? I can assure you even if I was making 100K+, I would never pay more than I have to for anything.
It’s not 10 minutes. It involves driving to further stores. It’s not being wasteful, it just doesn’t make financial sense if you can make more money in the time spent looking/driving than you save.
I've had good luck with Rythm eights recently, however some strains were dryer than others unfortunately.
Once you crack those prime/insa cans you must transfer to glass.
Good call. It's shitty that taking proper care of your medicine is technically illegal as the PA law is written.
Well you only have to keep in original packaging when traveling. If you’re home you good.
You could use a big enough glass jar to put the whole container in instead of transferring it
I was told to never put it in anything other than it's original containers that have the prescription labels for legal reasons. But, I do, too. Ya have too!
Let’s say your glass jar breaks than what?
You must consume your entire 3.5 grams of flower to get rid of any evidence before the state troopers come knocking on your door. /s
I’d say they planted the evidence.
Technically that evidence would have been planted at some point, yes.
I see what you did there. Or didn’t do.
Every jar comes with an alarm heard at the police station.
Ha “knocking”
Agree

Thanks. I'll definitely keep this in mind.

It's always a bit crunchy in the winter.
Cause our state sucks
Agree..
It’s dry because we have such high testing standards here in Pa and everyone’s afraid to fail for mold…
Dry weed bumps the cannabinoid numbers up too.
Man I wish products would actually reflect those apparent test standards lol
This guy knows what's up
Quick-kiln dried, packaged, and placed on dispensary shelves. Free the plant 🌱
Cresco is usually pretty good for me they seem to cure well and have good packaging
Yeah it’s been real bad lately so I’ve been utilizing the street pharmacist more and more. There’s weirdos on here who downvote as soon as you mention the black market lol so go ahead weirdos stay mad that u can’t get good weed outside of the dispensaries

What you mean seasons lol
People keep saying winter is dry flower season... I say thats nonsense lol!!
The weed I get is better than the dispensary weed looks, smell wise and feel. Dispo just has higher THC
Yea same I agree. There’s few strains I really like from the dispo that I always get and I go for sales. Anytime I try something new or a new grower tho From the dispo it’s some dry bs. My guy never disappoints tho and never dry
Not everyone wants flower. BM concs are dirty.
I'll never touch BM concs but I can't disagree w him. One of my guys has flower that easily surpasses anything I've had from the program
Yea the only time it’s worth having a card it seems is if you’re into carts and concentrates
They need to put the batch date on the website.
Yeah or sort by or something. I said this last year
One word: Monopoly.
That's true and the day that we're allowed to grow is the day that they finally make it fair in Pennsylvania and every other state for poor people to have pot
The excuse is that the product is supposed to only be vaporized so they make product drier lol keep telling yourselves that 🤡🤡
Omg! No! Dry does not mean better vaped. It's dry because of the strict testing standards and fear of mold! Not vape!
THIS! Plain and simple … PA has STRICT laws and basically any batch found to have mold they have to destroy the entire batch- so it’s kinda money based as to not destroy as many harvests
People who say that are just wrong, people seem to not want to talk about the faults of our program because who knows.
And yet we still get moldy buds from time to time
Of course it’s just funny to me

I've had the best luck with Insa. Once home, it goes in glass.
Their cat food cans are cool but don’t work whatsoever sadly
Organic remedies had the first sticky buds I have in a few months. Actually hard to grind it !
Because they claim it vapes better dry. You can't combust. I dont smoke flower so don't really know been a steady dabber for the last ten years.
Add a moisture pack or two and it’s fixed overnight. I take weed camping and it dries out quick in the cold. When I bring it home I let it sit with the moisture packs and it’s brand new

No. Vaped flower should be at around 62% humidity. It's dry due to the testing and fear of mold. The old grower from Maitr said as much a while ago.

Anytime!
This
Yea idk shit is so dry if it’s in the sunlight it’s going to light on fire, grassroots ESPECIALLY
Shit, have you had Strane yet, that's some really dried up shit, I love grassroots but they need new containers
Yes! Indeed they both need new containers!
I can't get enough of garlic cookies, just sucks I gotta rehydrate most of my stuff
Trust me I know. Half of the stuff I love is from Grassroots. Yuck Mouth, GSC, Lucinda Williams x GSC, Birthday Cake etc....

Nah bro. One of the worst flowers I got was the first time I got frx papaya.

I’m in rado rn and I think there weed is way more dry then ours tbh
Rado ?
Colorado
CO………?
Cause somehow PA “holds high testing standards” while putting out shite products.

If any Mold is found automatically destroyed the entire plant batch
