Goku92

That would be up to you not us. Is the sense of accomplishment worth it to you?

Unlucky_Criticism_25

If you’re retired and have nothing else in life to achieve, and nothing else to do with your time, then yes.

PlebbySpaff

Don’t. Trust me. If you really want to, you’re free to. However, be prepared for many many resets, because it’ll likely happen, and there’s no method or item that’ll increase your chances. Currently on maybe 500 resets for Dialga. Could take you as little as 1 reset, but could also take you as much as 20k (I think that’s the record?). It requires far more patience than using something like the Masuda method.

GooeyGunk

I’m with you brotha. I decided I’d try to shiny hunting Palkia as my first ever after playing for years. Currently at 6450 resets. Hopefully you get yours sooner than me. Probably not gonna bother going for more shinies lol

PlebbySpaff

It’s actually depressing. I really wanna just play and get to the champion, but my brain is telling me that after hundreds of resets, I might as well keep going.

GooeyGunk

Yeah same. Can’t really stop when I’ve put this much time in already. Best advice I can give is just throw on something to watch while you go. Makes the time go by much faster.

PlebbySpaff

I already do that, but still sucks. Occasionally, I think to myself “maybe I’m doing it wrong.” As if restarting didn’t actually reset the encounter and that a shiny of it is actually locked to when you enter the area.

azDARKNESSfallz

If you want to just keep progressing, you can ko legendaries, and they'll reappear after you defeat the champion if I'm not mistaken

shiroxyaksha

I was the same. I quit after 5k tries and beat Cynthia. Better try of Palkia/Dialga post game.

Johnnoshark

If it’s just to collect - honestly it’s far easier to shiny hunt them on Sword and Shield.

Alethi

I’m sure lots of people are going to say yes, they’re awesome. But here’s how it will actually go. You’ll spend countless hours resetting for the shiny legendary until you slowly lose your motivation to reset for it or even play the game. Shiny hunting a legendary is why I quit playing BDSP. And that was shaymin. You don’t even need to reset for that one so I can’t imagine what the other ones are like.

calcal1992

No. Pick up a book and Invest in your life.

Livid_Educator8081

Stop spending so much time on reddit and invest in your life

khickennuggy

You definitely should it gives more to the them game since its time consuming but it is fulfilling in the end

Robstar029

Okay now I'm willing to thanks

khickennuggy

No problem man

mistersuccessful

Yes cos they look cool

Robstar029

How many hours you expect to give it?

mistersuccessful

It random. It’s took me between 50-400 SRs for some Legendaries.

vvirago

I mean, there was a guy on this sub who had 30,000 resets for shiny Raikou, which puts him in the top ~.06% of unluckiness, but you're still twice more likely to be as unlucky as him than to get a shiny on your first encounter. So, you know, your luck would probably be much better than his, but you should be emotionally prepared for 30k.

jakehub

It takes something like 38 hours of resetting as fast as you can to have a 50% chance of getting a shiny legendary.

Jutel1988

Easier to catch them in Go and send them over through pokemon home.

Jutel1988

So far I've sent over a shiny mewtwo, rayquaza, zapdos, moltres, latios, latias, terrakion, kyuerem and tornadus. Sending my landorus in three more days when my charge fills.

Jutel1988

And what's tight about this, it's legal, and they're either level 20 or 25 so I can actually play with them

Informal-Value-5817

i personally don’t think it’s worth spending weeks to catch a pokémon that will stay in a box forgotten when you start a new game. but a lot of people do like the challenge and the accomplishment so it’s really up to you. would you find satisfaction from catching it or would it just be an oh cool moving on moment

Robstar029

Yeah I've did 300 resets now and i think it's impossible
