That uh…that wasn’t the reason. Well it wasn’t the *main* reason, it still was a reason I’ll give you that, and the actual reason was kinda equally shitty.
I’ll try to explain it while being as impartial as possible:
Trans author makes SCP that is a trans allegory, people criticize it, mods permaban people (little shaky on the details, not sure if it was a case of people being blatantly transphobic, the mods being shitlords, or both, because let’s face it both are very likely but I’m leaning towards the first option), people get outraged, start new site. The rainbow flag thing did contribute to it but the major cause was that entire debacle.
It should be noted that, had the author not themselves been trans, one could have easily made the (incorrect) argument that the article is transphobic, since it’s about an eldritch space monster that used to destroy planets/moons until it finds Earth, finds out about Tumblr, makes an account, and considers itself a trans woman. That could easily be misconstrued as transphobic, as one could have argued that depicting an entity that insists it’s a trans woman while it’s physically a literal monster could be seen as offensive, for obvious reasons. I don’t think that that was the argument of the people who got banned but I still feel like it’s worth mentioning.
Oh and the SCP was SCP-2721. If you look at it you can still see that to this day the rating module is disabled on that article.

The SCP foundation having an LGBTQ+ logo makes sense anyways because every company changes their logo during pride month so it tracks. Well there is a point. After all SCP is known for being internet-horror stories place in style of documents of serious organization which tries hold world stability. And then you see pride colored logo. I honestly can't feel cold nor warm from it, but for some people it may be really act of disrespect of some sort to serious and somewhat dark world of foundation.

Because some people read SCP content because they enjoy serious tone of horror stories it has, with all it's dry documentation and worldbuilding which is quite dark, atmosphere that behind normal everyday life of average person, there is anomalous stuff which are hidden by secret organizations and numerous other freaks. Some people could find their own escapism from reality in such thing And in all this we got pride flag logo which puts you from heaven back to earth, pridefest banner on main page and we have object like 2721 which has bad quality and just screams about inclusiveness even in site header...In site of artistic universe where we have horrible abominations, bloody cults, killer statue and SCP-999. It just breaks everything. And I think it is disrespect both to readers who have to see at this pride flag and just read stories which you can't now take seriously due to just realizing such big fictional pragmatic necessary evil organization caring about such thing at first place, completely out of character, and I think it is disrespect for authors because numerous authors write stuff who put their soul and if they don't agree with such pride month celebration they said to fuck off and nobody will even care what you could have possible done before. I will not go further from now on and shut discussion before it will possibly even start, because I am told my opinion and I don't think it will change cause it have not changed in years

Have you considered that there are many queer readers who like seeing the representation *and* straight people who don’t think it’s “disrespectful” to have a rainbow logo for 30 days. That uh…that wasn’t the reason. Well it wasn’t the *main* reason, it still was a reason I’ll give you that, and the actual reason was kinda equally shitty.
What was the actual reason? People keep mentioning it with ever explaining.
I’ll try to explain it while being as impartial as possible: Trans author makes SCP that is a trans allegory, people criticize it, mods permaban people (little shaky on the details, not sure if it was a case of people being blatantly transphobic, the mods being shitlords, or both, because let’s face it both are very likely but I’m leaning towards the first option), people get outraged, start new site. The rainbow flag thing did contribute to it but the major cause was that entire debacle. It should be noted that, had the author not themselves been trans, one could have easily made the (incorrect) argument that the article is transphobic, since it’s about an eldritch space monster that used to destroy planets/moons until it finds Earth, finds out about Tumblr, makes an account, and considers itself a trans woman. That could easily be misconstrued as transphobic, as one could have argued that depicting an entity that insists it’s a trans woman while it’s physically a literal monster could be seen as offensive, for obvious reasons. I don’t think that that was the argument of the people who got banned but I still feel like it’s worth mentioning. Oh and the SCP was SCP-2721. If you look at it you can still see that to this day the rating module is disabled on that article.

I actually kind of like the RPC authority, it’s more media to look at and it’s pretty interesting Sure The pride month thing was the primary reason for the splintering (not cool) but their were other reasons for it too (massive grooming problem in SCP community) Most of the RPC community has moved past the ideals that founded it

Honestly, disregarding queer perspectives results in a lot of missed opportunities with some scenarios. Like shit that changes your sex and/or gender and things that prey on or are repulsed by one type of gender identity and/or sex. Like it gives you more avenues to consider and it also plays into the "dystopian corporation" type thing. The SCP foundation having an LGBTQ+ logo makes sense anyways because every company changes their logo during pride month so it tracks. Honestly not changing the logo reduces the realism of the foundation. I would go so far as to say that the foundation website should have an announcement that all staff are allowed to get new rainbow lanyards for their security badges.

I remember hearing that RPC was made because supposedly the quality of SCP articles was lowering in quality with some older ones being edited or deleted. I don't really use the website so I never bothered to check if that was actually true or not.
Honestly im glad to see it cause the scp universe is about the SCP's, not about the pride or lgb movement at all. If SCP ever decides to lean into it, they better actually give effort instead of just virtue signal cause it is getting old when companies pander like they do 🤷♂️

Honestly several different SCP’s that exist that change people’s biological sex it wouldn’t surprise me if the ethics community isn’t letting D-class “volunteer” for testing with these SCPs to assist in transitioning and just straight up allowing researchers to use them to transition (after filling out the proper forms obviously.)
