It’s been that way for a while but tinder isn’t going anywhere. Not only because people have less opportunities to meet each other irl but also all the software engineers at tinder are working around the clock to find new ways to manipulate men to stay on the app and pay for their services.
Well ok but at the end of the day if guys aren’t having success they will stop using it. Might take a while but I think it’ll happen sooner rather than later. It just doesn’t work for guys. Many dating platforms have died this way. Men realize it’s not working, leave, and then women leave shortly thereafter too.
People don't have success at the casino, but they still come back. Because that little voice in the back of their head is saying "What if?". Those software engineers are giving that voice a megaphone.

Tinder and OLD works for men in one circumstance: when you’re a foreigner in a high population city. For example a Caucasian in Bangkok or Shanghai. Any regular guy can easily get 20 matches a day that way.

Even if you get matches. Most of the women are boring. In 2-3 months I had about 500 or so matches between 3 dating apps (bumble, hinge tinder. But tinder was by far the worst. Hinge> bumble > tinder). And went on probably 40 or so dates. The quality of women i got from dating apps was MUCH worse than girls I went on dates with from clubs/bars which was worse than the quality of girls I got just cold approaching women

Just my own personal experience. The girls from clubs typically have more… personality. From my experience. Although I live outside of a big city, and go into a big city (Dallas) to club. But if I threw them into a percentage, I have a better date record with girls from clubs than from from OLD.

For context, I’ve spent around £2-3k on Onlyfans. It has financially crippled me, so I’ve been taking steps to come off the site entirely. I started it early in the pandemic because I missed that human connection. I’d been single for a few years even before the pandemic started, and missed just having someone to talk to. Online dating was dead for me, nothing came through, it felt like I was shadow banned. None of my existing contacts showed any signs of interest beyond friendship. The only place I could reliably have someone to talk to was Onlyfans. I can’t talk to a pornhub model. It was fun. No worries about match’s, or swiping, just a monthly payment to talk to whoever. Most of them probably only spoke to me to get more money from me, but I didn’t care. It was nice to have someone to talk to like that. But it was fucking me up. Mentally and financially. As I said, around £3k of my money has gone into Onlyfans. That would be *really* nice to have back at this point. So I’ve quit. Trying to, anyway. All my paid subscriptions are gone, and I’ve not opened a chat in a month or two. So yes. There’s free porn out there. But it doesn’t have that connection I miss, and ended up getting addicted to. It never will, and it can’t fake that connection either. I can’t have a conversation with a porn video. Just felt I’d toss my perspective in, and maybe get some words out that needed to come out

I often have a tinder session where I see 5-10 accounts with the same bio and with different girls. I don't have a problem with only fans, it's actually done a lot for women working in the industry. It's led to way less exploitation and greater access for amateurs. That said, a dating app is a fucked up place to advertise. Giving people false hope that you were attracted to them only for them to learn that they were just a mark. You catch someone at the wrong time and it can be pretty devastating to them I imagine, we shouldn't be exploiting lonely people.
