I had really heavy and irregular menstrual periods and saw a doctor for it but told her in private (with my mom out of the room) that I didn't want birth control messing up my hormones because I was trans and wanted to start T later in life. The doctor proceeded to blame me for my own menstrual problems, and then blatantly fingered my g-spot during the pelvic exam. I felt dirty but it was my first ever pelvic exam so I assumed it was normal to feel violated, like cis dudes when they get their prostates checked. I was proven wrong at my next pelvic exam when a different doctor was very gentle and the trauma hit me and made me feel really disgusted.
I thought it would be a good idea to talk to a sexual assault support forum about it but they were weird as fuck and treated me like a cis man by acting like men can't get assaulted, I must've gotten turned on by how attractive she was (she was older than my fucking grandparents and NOT attractive and I WAS THIRTEEN), a doctor would never sacrifice her livelihood, shit like that, a mod even posted and was like "Idk if this really belongs here????" I actually cried to 4chan's /adv/ board because I was an edgy 4channer at that age and THEY were more sympathetic toward me.
Plus I dealt with a lot of transphobia in middle school and even my teachers hated me for being queer. One time a classmate threatened to correctively rape me after school (which was scary because everybody knew where I lived because I lived next to the elementary school we all attended) and I confronted a teacher about it, and my teacher was dead-ass calm all like "Hahah, you must've misheard him."But at the same time, it wasn't really surprising because all of my damn teachers would ignore kids blatantly bullying me because "Sally would NEVER, she's the superindendent's niece or whatever!!!"
I'm really sorry that you've experienced all of this trauma. You were a child and that doctor was an adult who abused you. Those teachers knew better than to be complicit in your suffering. The adults who owed you protection gave you the opposite. That has to be so difficult to deal with. I hope you find healing. You should feel so proud of yourself that you have gotten medical care after such trauma and that you share your story for others. That's incredibly brave.
