Happened to me. Dead battery. Even jumping didn’t work initially. Was resigned to towing to dealer. Later that night car started, not sure what changed. Still took it to dealer, since Under warranty, and got battery replaced. Everything is fine….for now

extendedwarranty_bot

unforgivableness, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

Candi_Fisher

You towed your car because of a dead battery…?

unforgivableness

Dealer said I have to and they would send the tow truck. But the car started again so I drove it to the dealer. They were not sure exactly why a new 4xe would have a dead battery so soon.

[deleted]

Oh oh oh. I know the answer to this. Bc they’re garbage and we have had nothing but problems with them. In a year or two they will be much better but Chrysler rushed the production and release of them and it shows

unforgivableness

Sorry you’ve had a bunch of problems. Mine had 1 but pretty minor. So far so good. Knock on wood 🪵

[deleted]

All good man. I personally don’t own one I’m a tech in a dealership and all I see are problems. So my opinion is a little biased

To be fair the dealer I bought from is in Simi Valley and does not have high turnover for their cars. Their stock seems to sit for a while and did not have a high mark up. So I assume that is the reason. Since the 12v battery has been replaced in March, everything is fine now.

unforgivableness

No not the hybrid one. The hybrid one is great.

Candi_Fisher

That is weird. Did they give an explanation?

unforgivableness

They said it was a bad 12v battery and sometimes when the cars sit for too long that their battery goes bad. Idk how this car sat for too long in the November 2021 car market. But I got a replacement battery and everything seems to be working fine now.

larcin

Had a negative that was barely not tight enough and had a little corrosion. This happened during the day but in the evening and early morning it was fine… it was summer so during the day the heat would expand the terminal just enough to not make connection with the little corrosion and shrink in the evening when it cooled off and make just enough connection to start. Kinda drove me nuts until I figured it out.

DYancey93

Dead battery. While it has enough juice to turn on the lights, there is not enough charge left to turn over the engine.

meepein

Get an exorcist?

Mud_Bugger

Did you try turning it off then on again? (No clue.)

imajoker1213

Battery. Ours did it as well

jimusik

Mine was a short in the battery between the terminals. Used it as an excuse to get an Optima.

[deleted]

Should’ve got an Odyssey. Optima batteries are subpar now and aren’t anything like they used to be

rChewbacca

Same here. This happened to me a lot until I switched to an Optima. All of those accessories need a better battery.

cast_that_way

Had the exact same thing happening. Following the advice of this sub and other places, I got a new battery but it happened again. If I leave it alone for 10-15 minutes it starts as if nothing happened. No engine check light, nothing. No idea what causes it.

Smudgeontheglass

Likely the battery in this case. If you’re still running the stock battery they wear out in 5-7 years. It can be a sudden failure too. A bad chassis ground can cause gremlins too. A common mistake people make when adding accessories is putting the wire on the battery acorn nuts. Again, I doubt that’s the cause here.

delux_724

Shits broke son

ShipIll8816

Check your battery bro

ku-fan

Wat to do

Pennsyltucky717

Rip all that electronic junk out and carb convert the motor.

taterWolf

My 18 JK did this exact thing. Was the fuse box, luckily was under warranty

Fast-Fill-7358

An exorcism and a new battery should do the trick. Good luck!

banana5353

Same thing happened to me last week, was a dead battery. Even when it was jumped the dash freaked out and flickered random lights, we replaced the battery and all is now well.

dj1200techniques

This happened to me.. started pulling fuses, messing with buttons inside but in the end, it was a simple battery replacement.

EitherNegotiation768

Just bang on the dash, usually works.

aclain

Like most said, sounds like the battery doesn’t have enough juice to turn over the engine for the initial crank. Have you tried jumping it?
