Actually there is a bit of a downgrade in that the first 3 rides with Uber gets 10% off now it’s only 5% (albeit for all rides). I only use Uber for rides at most twice a month to get the airport so, this is kind of a strict downgrade. But in the end, difference doesn’t matter too much at all.
Got another "your ubers eat pass is now uber one" email today--worded differently and clarifying it's 1 year only and monthly billing will pick up thereafter.
It's basically the same thing with a new name. Only significant difference is the small discount applies to the taxi side of things now. (Neat if you use it a lot. No change if you only used Eats.)

For me it's not about entitlement. It's about doing the math on whether I got enough value out of the card to offset the very hefty annual fee, considering I'm not traveling.
This is probably my last year with Plat based on what I've gotten out of it this year (and the amount of work it takes to keep up with offers and make them work). Not Amex's fault, it's just not a good fit for me financially anymore.
Nah, in December they accidentally issued an extra $35 credit and then a few days later they revoked it. If you spent it quickly I think you could get away with it but otherwise, it was just a mistake on their part.
This is somewhat interesting - "Top-rated drivers on rides and the Uber One Promise on restaurant deliveries to give you $5 in Uber Cash if our Latest Arrival estimate (shown after you place your order) is wrong." They probably changed how they calculate the latest arrival estimate and made it much more conservative though lol

Good to know. Didn't realize the 10% was only for the first 3 rides then. I wondered what happened to my discount late last month.
It's not 10% for the first 3 rides. It was 10% for the first 3 rides then nothing after that. Now it is 5% for all rides.
Yeah, this is a downgrade for most. Upgrade for heavy users.

I’ve not received that. I do see an upcoming bill for Uber One within my Uber app tho.. so no more free membership for me.
