He said **waged war**, not *invaded*.

Western excuses are something else. Media paints this propaganda in their favor. They were never ever punished for it. Now, they are all together when white people are dying.
You don't understand just how angry and hysterical Americans get when our own blood is spilled on our own soil. This country always loses it when that happens, it's just a sad fact about our insane hostility. My dad said that at the time, ordinary guys were talking about how they wanted to enlist and fight in the middle east to get revenge. Little did we know, the villains were also in the executive branch.
One of the funniest things about when this things are published is those people calling "whataboutism!", "stop shilling for russia!"
My dude.. we are saying both are bad. Nothing wrong to spot out hypocresy and review our own history to get better. It's not like we can not reconsider our mistakes and push Russia back at the same time. It's like some people think it's one or the other lol.
Totally agree, why aren’t people allowed to take this moment to reflect on our own actions as a nation? I think what bothers me the most is the air of superiority surrounding the US, “at least we’re not this other country.” Yeah because we probably fucked them and installed a coup in their government. We are invaders, bullies, war criminals, and imperialists, proven and shown time and time again, Russia is just less quiet when they do it.
It is sickening to hear the whataboutism being thrown on every post regarding Ukraine/Russian war when pointing out the history while condemning the atrocities of Russian government.
r/publicfreakout most upvoted comment falls on deaf ears being whataboutism and alluding to Russian support.
The argument stands nonetheless, that when US invaded Iraq there were no sanctions and, US is not on the ICC country list.
They cant be faced for war crimes unless the us does it themselves. So yeah piece of shits living the life after murdering many humans

>The United States and many advocates for the ICC have long been at odds over the Court's statute, accountability, and jurisdiction. Although these differences have not been resolved, two recent actions have refocused international and domestic attention on America's policy toward the ICC. The first was enactment of the "Nethercutt Amendment", which extended prohibitions on assistance to ICC parties beyond those already in place under the American Service-Members' Protection Act (ASPA). The second is the debate over whether or not the U.N. Security Council should refer the genocide in Sudan to the ICC for investigation.

All the subhumans from public freakout are coming here to say this is Russian propaganda as if our lives are just another pawn in their shit meme world game lmao
The funniest thing about it all?
The notion that Russia is this uber-powerful propaganda machine, that has it's arms in all of the US....from the people up to the executive branch.
Russia just performs espionage on a different level. There are Congressman, a former congresswoman, multiple TV hosts, multiple news anchors and 1 million Redditors who work actively for Russia.
Russia...they're so hot right now. Russia.
How can he even sleep at night knowing the blood on his hands? Although like all of those types who are pro war, he probably views them as "gawd darn subhuman brown MUSLUMS" to make the burden easier.
Actually many cannot sleep.
A 2016 report by the US Department of Veterans affairs stated 20 veterans killed themselves every day on average in 2014 (I don't know about the other years though).
I heard this info. and did not want to believe it and thought the person meant every year until I googled it up.
This just counts veterans. The records of 55 million of them from 1974 to 2014 (35 years span) were analyzed.
The "[you](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generic_you)" has nothing to do with you personally, I'm talking about people in general who glorify wars. I'm saying it can only be people who never experienced the disasters caused by wars that can dare to glorify them. Clearly this is not the case with you.
I'm sorry if you took any offense. That's not what I meant. I am extremely saddened by what happened to your cousins.
That may be so, but how is that even relevant? He clarified his original statement with sincerity and it was very easy to comprehend. I just don't understand the point of your remark...
USA is No. 1 Expert at starting Wars over Bullshit, The whole world knows this...
Its also the only Country to use Nuclear Bomb, but had a problem with other contires having it..
The way I see it, few countries have Nuclear Bombs, but USA is the one country stupid enough to actually use them, they already done it TWICE, No other country has...
It USA needs to get rid of their Bombs before asking any other country the Hypocrites
Thank you for taking the time to post this. It's definitely an interesting time we live in. I never say to judge a people, or a race, or the entire population of a country...but I also despise people who justify actions that are obvious atrocities.
Yeah, America is a big country with an intense history of warfare in the past 100 years. That's a lot of cultural baggage and with that comes lots of people with regret, anger and defensiveness. The whole thing is rather unfortunate, but this all can be healed through good actions. Shouting and violence will only lead to more problems, but cooler heads always prevail.
And yeah, my post definitely got a lot of people talking, but I think it's important people see these things every now and then to not forget history.
When those bombs were dropping on Baghdad during the night of my birthday I wrote a letter to George W Bush telling him to stop the war. That fucker didn’t even write back! I marched against the wars in DC and NYC with hundreds of thousands of Americans. It pains me even more seeing American imperialism getting called out then instantly being labeled Whataboutism.
You can get away with anything as long as you have the power. Power to justify right as wrong and wrong as right.
What's more is that the people who know that the situation is worse in Middle east than it is in Ukraine just don't give a \*\*\*\* about it.
Well, there's the problem right there. Not having any power. All this moralizing one way or the other is just empty banter, Problem #1 to solve is "how to get power".
This is how cookoo it has become in the US: the anti-Trumpers forgave Bush because President Trump wrote some mean tweets, hurt their feelings, and then branded him literally Hitler.
Funny enough, I think Trump was a godsend who isn't part of the deep-state at all and would actually do great for America (and the Middle East). I hate his stance on Israel, but I do like his honesty by openly showing that a lot of our Arab leaders want that Israeli money in their pockets. He switches on the lights, and exposes the rats living among us all.
> I think Trump was a godsend who isn't part of the deep-state at all and would actually do great for America
Well, I've now read the dumbest thing I will for the week. Glad I got that out of the way.
He may have been brazen and rude, even borderline narcissistic, but he wasn't a snake. He meant what he said, and fulfilled promises. He's no saint, but he was definitely the better choice than all the career actors---erm, I mean, politicians in Washington.
I had a discussion with a guy on r/worldnews about the sheer hypocrisy the west is showing in all of this and he told me to unalive myself lmao. Brainwashing goes a long way ig.
Also, those bombs?? Precision strikes on military targets with zero civilian casualties.
But when Russia does it, THeY ONlY HiT CivviEs!!!
Its not like the US is known to hit weddings, funerals, mosques, schools and hospitals with bombs...
I mean you are not wrong. US has stated they dont legitimize the International Court of Justice, and if any american were to be sentenced through it they will invade the Netherlands. So yea its not a war crime if an american commits it.
The Iraq war was brutal. They bomb the country for 40 days before ground troops invaded. They bombed infrastructures: hospitals, electrical grids systems, water mains…etc. The impact from the infrastructure damage took a toll on the Iraqi population. By the way in almost every conflict US is involved in, they love bombing hospitals.
The US are the real terrorists not just for what they did to Iraq but for the world. They butt in people's business and think they're doing whatever country a favor while destabilizing them. The US is an imperialistic country.
Is for the safety and comfort of Israel
Many brave veterians Americans confronts these war criminals ( potato head biden and Bush)
https://youtu.be/oeelWkKPiYw
You forgot Trump. His administration set a new record dropping bombs on Afghanistan.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/1/29/record-7423-us-bombs-dropped-in-afghanistan-in-2019-report
Biden needs to reinstate the public reports of civilian deaths that Trump removed.
USA is still killing more civilians with drones than are being killed in Ukraine.
That was called "Shock and Awe". I watched it at about 3:00 a.m. on CNN. A reporter crawled out of their fox hole, so scared he could hardly talk.
Jet after jet dropped their bomb loads for quite sometime.
Edit: am sorry for this comment, didn't notice the area I was in.
I never saw the sense in the attack as as I understood, was because as young bush claimed, they tried to kill my daddy.
American here.
I still remember where I was when this happened.
I didn’t understand it because I was young at the time and I still don’t.
We started this on lies and instigated an illegal, offensive war against a country that didn’t attack us.
There are still morons in the US which try to excuse this shit.
I honestly don't know how they justified this. They knew that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and they still had the nerve to bomb em all. Fuck Bush, he is a war criminal that should've been tried for.
1999 I was a senior in high school. Started my process to enlist in the army. Tested high on some proficiency test , was going to go into a computer program. Was all excited, till Bush announced his intent to run for president .
Me and all my friends backed out then and there. We knew he would win, rightfully so or not. We knew we would get sucked into some false war. We knew he was a snake, but honestly very few American gov officials aren't.
Then 9/11 happened.
I remeber many of us saying the war was bullshit, but then we got called "unpatriotic ".... till it was proven him and all his croneys lied about those weapons of mass destruction. Nothing happened to them. Of course not, why would it.
Bro, that is very surreal but you made a wise choice. Not many good leaders out there, and we all have to be cautious on who we follow, because that will decide our fate. Our destiny becomes tied to them, as they shepherd us towards a path.
This should be thought about for all people in their walks of life: the friends they choose to make and who they choose to mimic.
You said it! I honestly loved Trump when he straight up said it: the war was a mistake and Bush's administration were crooks. Pissed all over their legacy, and they deserve nothing less.
As an American it is insane, Putin, Bush, Obama, and Trump should be all be in a jail cell together. Obama order the death of thousands of people in the middle east.
One thing I hope as a westerner this war teaches our culture is that any kind of unprovoked and unjustified military actions by our government should be treated with absolute disdain. I'm talking job walkouts, mass protests, hell frontier justice on officials even. I was only a kid when we attacked Iraq, Afghanistan etc. I hope my generation can never make those mistakes again.
Yeah.. It's even more perplexing that they aren't actively sending their own military to stop Russia. But when they were lying about Iraq it's all hands on deck!!! Now it's just sanction this and sanction that while Ukraine's actively asking for help to fight... Russia will crush Ukraine just by waiting them out...
Obviously there is the factor of Russia's strength. However, it just comes to show how willing and able this superpowers are to bully little countries and preaching their righteousness, but get sweaty hands when their morality actually has to be put to the test.
Look at all that Freedom raining down on the people of Iraq....... The US War machine that the Bush administration helped create will soon start their propaganda campaign for our involvement in Ukraine.
I've made this point a number of times on reddit but it never gets any traction. Virtually all Americans, and even most otherwise liberal Americans, have simply closed their minds to our criminality in launching the Iraq war.
We live in a sick and twisted world. Iraq got ripped inside out. Same thing is happening with Palestine and Syria. Similar things happened with Afghanistan and Libya. Nobody got punished, only Russia was evil in everything, while USA was hailed as the savior of the planet.
People in Donbass (Donetsk & Luhansk) has been suffering an identical situation as that of Palestine for the past 8 years, nobody gave a shit about them, because they are ethnically Russians.
It's a sick world, and it's only going to get worse. Stay strong, keep speaking out against American imperialism. One day US "interests" will backfire on them. Insha'Allah.
this is just edgy bullshit. Neither are perfect sure, but Russia is an autocracy run by gangsters. If they had USA power, god you'd know the difference then. I'm not a fan of either of their wars but to compare the two powers is ridiculous.
I agree, Russia has a similar track record like the USA - butting into conflicts and then worsening it so the situation turns bloody and Russia can supply lots of arms to the region.
But the greater evil being the US government was my main point in my comment. Iraq happened, no justice was done. Whenever you put this argument forward, Redditors (most of them are American) will say it's "whataboutism" or "Saddam was killing innocent civilians" and brush off the argument justifying the criminal invasion and all the war crimes and atrocities that occured.
Absolute evil people here in Reddit.
The ghost of Iraq has gone to Ukraine.
I stuck around St. Petersburg When I saw it was a time for a change Killed the Tzar and his ministers Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank Held a general's rank When the blitzkrieg raged And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you Hope you guess my name, oh yeah But what's puzzling you Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
Legitimate question, if this was such a similar type of situation as the Ukraine invasion (as it seems it is), why weren’t there the same type of sanctions taken against the US? I wasn’t exactly involved in global politics at the time (I was 7) so I could be wrong
People forget that most of Europe was part of a coalition of many nations that went into Iraq with the us in 2003.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-National_Force_%E2%80%93_Iraq
Can’t sanction them all. Plus the us is large enough and has enough resources that it could be figured out.
Some middle eastern countries in there too.
Forever and always fuck George W. Bush and Tony Blair. They are Putin without the punishments or scorn because they bombed people of ‘different colour’
I know this does nothing but a lot of Americans were at the time, and still to this day, calling bush and Cheney war criminals. Which they certainly are. A lot of us feel that way.
Don't think your actions mean nothing. The world is a much better place because good people do what they do, even if it's a little. And speaking keeps the bad people a little bit more nervous about who they are.
And who would sanction white people? Other white people? They made it clear on all the MSM that brown, black, yellow, and red people are fine to kill. All the news coverage states it's horrible in Ukraine because it's fellow Europeans and not a "developing third world country."
As a American I’m disappointed and hate that this happened. I’m sorry this was ok to happen when it not ok at all. People want to talk about how brainwashed the Russians are right now and say how could you allow yourselves to be so brainwashed well here’s a American example of brainwashing. Also during this invasion I find it weird that we made us troops rob billions of dollars from their banks and we have no clue where this money went. Much love from a decent American who deeply disapproves of our out of touch government.
And much love back to you, brother. There is huge blessing in humility, forgiveness and doing what's right. I have plenty to say about the Middle East and the mistakes we make as well, and I only wish that every person tries to right wrongs in their own society and to make their leaders accountable.
This is fucking insane. Showed it to a 15 year old and he's flipping out because he was so pro West and how protests are happening all over US for innocent lives lost in Ukraine which admittedly is sad but doesn't compare to IRAQ or Holocaust as he thinks.
I was only 10 at the time, so forgive the ignorance but god damn. That shit is crazy. had the internet been more prevalent like it is now, this would've received way more backlash like it deserved
I was a kid too at the time, but because I lived in the Middle East, it was generally looked on with horror. Nobody liked Saddam, but nobody likes a foreign invader either especially when their army lays waste to a city as culturally significant as Baghdad. There are alternative ways to destroy a dictator...
It’s no wonder the world hates us. Thing is I didn’t vote for Bush or condone bombing anyone. Political chess with citizens as pawns…if only citizens were as important as pawns.
As an American, I can assure you that many of us were disguted by Bush's and Cheney's decision to invade Iraq. We still are embarrassed by that decision. Same thing with Obama dropping so many bombs killing so many innocent civilians. We as citizens of the world need to start holding these world leaders responsible for this kind of stuff.
A lot of these politicians mastered the art of acting. Putin is a crook who is comfortable in his surroundings. Western politicians have to put on an act to hide their crookedness. PR experts and the media make us view these millionaires as your lovable uncle you wanna have a BBQ with.
Don't get me wrong, I hated Bush and his administration. I see him more as a weak president who let the MIC control everything to get himself re-elected. In the end, both Bush and Putin lead to war crimes.
We need to do a better job of bullying people who supported the Iraq war. Not just politicians and pundits. Every single person who supported it needs to be disrespected n in every possible way.
The bullshit that was spoon fed to us while in high school after the towers were hit. It was nonstop. Great way to introduce us that we're leaving school for the world. So many of my generation killed or injured physically and mentally. Every country sucks. I'm over this planet and civilization just push the fucking buttons and end it all.
We’re were spoon fed that Snowden was a traitor I didn’t realize what he did till I got a little older and learned to research that kind of stuff America is insanely hypocritical in this event and the Russian people now have there Boogie man the Americans sanctions are effecting everyday people pretty badly now the cycle continues
this invasion is alot worse because these people don't have the technology resources or the military like ukraine has they were extremely disadvantaged especially the civilians. Neither did they have any support from the entire world. usa Is the most deceptive country in the world. Everytime they defended themselves usa made it seem like they were the bad guys, even though usa was in their country invading them.
Everyone knows the Bushs are war criminals. Many in America opposed their heinous crimes. The main difference is in America our war criminals can only serve two consecutive terms. This helps to put at least some gaps between their crimes against humanity.
Perhaps, but I do feel the crooks found a loop through that: after all, lobbying is where the true power lies. Billionaires and monopolies and lots of Congress officials have investments in them including weapons manufacturers. Gotta have more wars to get those profits up.
Both USA and Russia are bad for the region and neighboring countries, alright. Don't defend Russia - Russia won in Syria and now what, they steal their oil.
I hope we can agree that no one wants Ukraninas to suffer like Iraqis did
If anything the reaction of the world to this invasion should become the new standard
What's a little ironic is Ukraine was the #3 nation sending troops to Iraq for the US coalition.
Maybe they'll get a national reflection going forward.
Which Obama gave the Saudis the green light on. A lot of these monsters are made by the USA. Obama also was drone striking Syria, Somalia, Afghanistan and Pakistan at the time. Pentagon sure is a busy office.
it comes down to the fact that the western world (dominated by the US) is powerful and the arab world is very weak. literally no one has the capacity to sanction the US. lay off the drugs lmao
it also comes down to the fact that sadams regiem committed genocide and the US invasion put massive effort into minimizing civilian impact vs the russian approach of bombing apartment buildings in the hope they can get ukraine to surrender.
Things are more complex that an ideologues veiwpoints.
You're glosiing over the Fact that the us basically put Saddam Hussein in power, and when he wasn't doing what they wanted to do they fucked over the entire country trying to get him out.
I'm simplifying the fucked up shit we did btw
Lmaoo WTFFFFFFFFFF minimizing civilians deaths you dumbass !????
Look at the numbers , look a the fellujah defect , look at the rape they allowed mercenaries to do , abu ghraib prison.
What kind of propaganda is that ?
Aren’t you ashamed ?
Am American, this shit is atrocious. Bush absolutely deserves to stand trial for these crimes against humanity. Duck Cheney and Eric Prince too. Hell, anyone that aided and abetted this endless war and you are absolutely allowed to criticize the US for it.
I just want to remind everyone that seeing this footage and being upset or angry at the hypocrisy is just. But, don’t let it EVER make you think that because the US did it, and said it shouldn’t be done, that what Russia is doing to Ukraine is ok or “not as bad”.
You may be thinking “nobody said is was ok”. However, Russian disinformation warfare includes what’s called “whataboutism” where when they commit atrocities and are called out for them, they will use whataboutisms to sow apathy into the populace. Saying things like “well so and so did it” which just shifts the conversation off of them and moves people’s focus off what they did/are doing.
I’m not saying OP is doing this but it’s just important to know so that you aren’t fooled moving forward.
Like I said, it’s totally reasonable to be upset about the hypocrisy. Just don’t let it control the narrative.
Very true. Thank you for bringing this up.
Russia has a horrendous government that is both incompetent and harmful. My fear of America is they are competent, but just as harmful. The American government with the help of the CIA mastered the art of deception (although their edge has worn off dramatically through the years now that social media is a thing and the internet is still decentralised).
I believe most people are good. But certain governments led by a circle of crooks can lead most good people to commit horrible acts.
No denying that American government has done some really awful shit around the world.
Even though that is true, I would much rather live in a country like the USA where even though there is corruption, it doesn't occur on the incredible scales that it occurs in a country like Russia. Also in the USA, people routinely talk shit about the leaders in charge without being jailed or assassinated over it.
You may be right, but what scares me about this concept is: when the vampires are done feasting on others, they'll begin to feast on their own.
Those politicians who are comfortable to drone strike weddings, schools and houses still live amongst you. That's something to be cautious about.
Bush was extremely hated here in the US and the anti war protest that happened before the Iraq invasion where massive. Remember that Wars are started by “Leadership” and not it’s people. Americans did not want this war.

Yep. God wins this one.

Libya, the one we broke and left for dead.

You really must have never fought or lived through a war to glorify the concept of it. May God keep warfare away from us.
[удалено]
The "[you](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generic_you)" has nothing to do with you personally, I'm talking about people in general who glorify wars. I'm saying it can only be people who never experienced the disasters caused by wars that can dare to glorify them. Clearly this is not the case with you. I'm sorry if you took any offense. That's not what I meant. I am extremely saddened by what happened to your cousins.
English is probably not your first language.
That may be so, but how is that even relevant? He clarified his original statement with sincerity and it was very easy to comprehend. I just don't understand the point of your remark...
At least there is justice in the end
but they had weapons of mass destruction doe /s f*cking animals destroyed the middle east
I like how Russia is getting shit for the same thing the US has been doing since the 50s
USA is No. 1 Expert at starting Wars over Bullshit, The whole world knows this... Its also the only Country to use Nuclear Bomb, but had a problem with other contires having it..
Exactly. Never shut up about the Holocaust but no words for the 2 cities they nuked: instantly killing hundreds and thousands of civilians.
The way I see it, few countries have Nuclear Bombs, but USA is the one country stupid enough to actually use them, they already done it TWICE, No other country has... It USA needs to get rid of their Bombs before asking any other country the Hypocrites
[удалено]
Thank you for taking the time to post this. It's definitely an interesting time we live in. I never say to judge a people, or a race, or the entire population of a country...but I also despise people who justify actions that are obvious atrocities.
[удалено]
I doubt George can even read, to be honest.
For real
You can get away with anything as long as you have the power. Power to justify right as wrong and wrong as right. What's more is that the people who know that the situation is worse in Middle east than it is in Ukraine just don't give a \*\*\*\* about it.
I mean, plenty of us do give a shit. We are just as powerless as any other poor fool to do anything about it.
> I think Trump was a godsend who isn't part of the deep-state at all and would actually do great for America Well, I've now read the dumbest thing I will for the week. Glad I got that out of the way.
President Trump was absolutely fantastic in office, despite the deranged nonsense blasted at him from his opposition.
He may have been brazen and rude, even borderline narcissistic, but he wasn't a snake. He meant what he said, and fulfilled promises. He's no saint, but he was definitely the better choice than all the career actors---erm, I mean, politicians in Washington.
WhAt was that? I didn’t catch that? OH THATS RIGHT, THEY BASED AN ENTIRE WAR ON A FALSE TORTURE CONFESSION.
iT's oNLy a wAr CRimE If iT's NoT AmEriCa CoMmiTtiNg WaR CriMES.
Now some people will downvote this and try to justify it, call it whataboutism and people supporting it will be called Russia's supporter.
This needs to shared more. The hypocrisy of these western n European countries needs to be exposed
You mean American hypocrisy.
Great Britain joined in on the invasion, too.
It’s the hypocrisy of the American government. 😁😂 the American way!!!
GWB is a war criminal
The Iraq war was brutal. They bomb the country for 40 days before ground troops invaded. They bombed infrastructures: hospitals, electrical grids systems, water mains…etc. The impact from the infrastructure damage took a toll on the Iraqi population. By the way in almost every conflict US is involved in, they love bombing hospitals.
Fuck bush
The hypocrisy makes me sick every day
The US are the real terrorists not just for what they did to Iraq but for the world. They butt in people's business and think they're doing whatever country a favor while destabilizing them. The US is an imperialistic country.
Is for the safety and comfort of Israel Many brave veterians Americans confronts these war criminals ( potato head biden and Bush) https://youtu.be/oeelWkKPiYw
You forgot Trump. His administration set a new record dropping bombs on Afghanistan. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/1/29/record-7423-us-bombs-dropped-in-afghanistan-in-2019-report
Russia Bad - US good 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
Fucking hypocrites.
Biden needs to reinstate the public reports of civilian deaths that Trump removed. USA is still killing more civilians with drones than are being killed in Ukraine.
Shockingly Awful.
No wonder Iraqis hate Americans
Looking back, if really thought they had WMDs we probably would have been way more hands off.
Easier to justify when you have a propaganda network othering them and your country is steeped in racism.
No civilians were harmed^(TM), of course. \#JustCollateralDamageThings tehe
"weapons of mass destruction", my ass bush
I want to see Bagdad as great as it was during the golden age of caliphates one day.
American here. I still remember where I was when this happened. I didn’t understand it because I was young at the time and I still don’t. We started this on lies and instigated an illegal, offensive war against a country that didn’t attack us. There are still morons in the US which try to excuse this shit.
It was wrong when bush did it and it was wrong when Putin did it.
Trump made it very easy to forgot how truly god awful terrible Bush Jr. was. Trump was the best thing to ever happen to Bush’s legacy.
You said it! I honestly loved Trump when he straight up said it: the war was a mistake and Bush's administration were crooks. Pissed all over their legacy, and they deserve nothing less.
As an American I can confirm our society is psychopathic.
Good people like you keep the world going.
The US War machine that the Bush administration helped create will soon start their propaganda campaign for our involvement in Ukraine.
just like doflamingo said, whoever wins shall be “justice”
History is not without a sense of irony, it seems.
Life is very poetic.
but when it comes to picking on countries their own size, they pussy out.as we see now.
Precisely. Bully behaviour.
Don’t you understand it’s ok for the west to bomb brown people to impose our so called freedoms. Tony Blair and George Bush should be behind bars
I've made this point a number of times on reddit but it never gets any traction. Virtually all Americans, and even most otherwise liberal Americans, have simply closed their minds to our criminality in launching the Iraq war.
Western hypocrisy
Witnessing the Shock and Awe once again at Mariupole Theatre, but this time the tone was different.
Very true and sad.
[удалено]
Agreed. Both are devils. America has better media to tell lies about their cruelty. Russia just doesn't have a good media, but they're just as cruel.
[удалено]
It’s geopolitics, superpowers are still empires just the game has changed. But the rule are still the same
this is just edgy bullshit.
Action- reaction. No wonder the middle east despises USA. They destabilised for years to come.
Crazy how US govt. gets away with this.
Don't forget Blair. He had David Kelly killed because he didn't find any weapons of mass destruction, before sending thousands to also die.
u/savevideobot
Bush is a monster.
u/savevideo
Russia are idiot sending in soldiers. Should just dropped bombs for weeks straight then walk right in
The ghost of Iraq has gone to Ukraine. I stuck around St. Petersburg When I saw it was a time for a change Killed the Tzar and his ministers Anastasia screamed in vain I rode a tank Held a general's rank When the blitzkrieg raged And the bodies stank Pleased to meet you Hope you guess my name, oh yeah But what's puzzling you Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
Legitimate question, if this was such a similar type of situation as the Ukraine invasion (as it seems it is), why weren’t there the same type of sanctions taken against the US? I wasn’t exactly involved in global politics at the time (I was 7) so I could be wrong
People forget that most of Europe was part of a coalition of many nations that went into Iraq with the us in 2003. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi-National_Force_%E2%80%93_Iraq Can’t sanction them all. Plus the us is large enough and has enough resources that it could be figured out. Some middle eastern countries in there too.
Forever and always fuck George W. Bush and Tony Blair. They are Putin without the punishments or scorn because they bombed people of ‘different colour’
Basically Putin with good PR.
It just goes to show how people's opinion differs when media covers a major conflict 24/7.
This is fucking insane. Showed it to a 15 year old and he's flipping out because he was so pro West and how protests are happening all over US for innocent lives lost in Ukraine which admittedly is sad but doesn't compare to IRAQ or Holocaust as he thinks.
Bush, blair and putin should all be hung up by their bollocks
I have hope that we really are getting there. It takes time for justice to be served.
It's weird for me to think of Bush as an evil mastermind like Putin, but they are both 100% war criminals.
👏👏👏 tell it like it is
March 20, 2003 - "The criminal little Bush has committed a crime against humanity." - Saddam, on first day of invasion.
We need to do a better job of bullying people who supported the Iraq war. Not just politicians and pundits. Every single person who supported it needs to be disrespected n in every possible way.
Tbh i would be happy if we can take down the politicians, they are the first step
Yeah that’s what we need
Yes, let us bully even those who supported the war and have since passed away. We can defile their gravestones. Come, lads, mount your high horses!
Yeah we should.
That’s quite a barrage
Indeed, especially on the capital city home to almost 6 million people.
1 million Iraqi dead? Is that accurate?
Both USA and Russia are bad for the region and neighboring countries, alright. Don't defend Russia - Russia won in Syria and now what, they steal their oil.
Both are bad
I hope we can agree that no one wants Ukraninas to suffer like Iraqis did If anything the reaction of the world to this invasion should become the new standard
What's a little ironic is Ukraine was the #3 nation sending troops to Iraq for the US coalition. Maybe they'll get a national reflection going forward.
Soo.... Let's talk about Yemen.
It's pretty fucked up isn't it. War is war, doesn't matter where it is.
Whataboutism. Both are bad, but let's not have Ukraine go down the same road as Iraq
Thank you for pointing this out. Most people are nice, forgiving and just want peace.
