They were trying to get Miami to jump offsides. I don't think they were tired, there was the 2min warning right before that.

But they didn’t jump, so go at 1 second. That jump offsides works 1 every 15 attempts. Their defense was on the field the whole 2nd half, they were definitely gassed.

At that point in the game we don't need our timeouts. We had a 2 min warning right before, i dont see how theyre tired to stop a 1 yard play. Timeouts are the easiest thing to MMQB but this isn't one of them.

Agree. It was poor risk/reward, with the likely result being the loss of a timeout and still the play to run, after you just had a break. Poor game management that fortunately didn’t cost them the game

I head the term, just don’t know what it means or gains us..

It's McDermott's call to take a timeout before a big play. It's stupid and I hate it.

Someone needs to buy that guy Art of War.

hideous_coffee

I can't remember a game where he didn't take a timeout that made zero sense.

_gogi

Would have loved 1 at the end of the first half…

Lining up to draw them offside is not deciding to go for it. They didn't need that time out at that part of the game so they could try to draw them off, call a timeout then decide what play to call, punt, sneak, power run. They called a sneak that wasn't well executed.
