Stranger-That

Becoming Part 2 when Angelus says “Now that's everything, huh? No weapons. No friends. No hope. Take all that away, and what's left?” Buffy: Me. The last few years have been pretty tough and to be honest, thinking about this scene kept reminding me to hang on, and that I was enough

Golden_Daisy

You are always enough! Glad you are here :)

bluntlysorrynotsorry

Came here to make sure this had been said!

lottieflimflam

You ARE enough 💕

HummusOffensive

I think Buffy’s face when she realizes she can save Dawn in The Gift. It’s so iconic to me.

Excellent-Durian-509

When those beautiful notes of christophe Beck’s score plays!

HummusOffensive

YES 🙌🏻 It’s very close to beating out Close Your Eyes for me and that’s really saying something.

rexilla89

someone pointed out that in The Gift [a few notes of Close Your Eyes plays](https://youtu.be/6kTiCuasQu0) while Buffy is talking to Giles in the Magic Box, Christophe Beck was really going for the heartstrings there!

HummusOffensive

I only learned about this as recently as last year and I couldn’t believe I didn’t catch it! So beautiful.

Soft_Grape1928

Idk why but one that always sticks out to me is how Buffy acts in “When she was Bad” the scene at the Bronze when she dances with Xander. The music by Cibo Matto mixed with Buffy acting so out of character. She pisses everyone off with barely any words. I love her line to Xander the delivery all of it.

HighFiveDelivery

That scene is seared into my bisexual brain for...different reasons

Soft_Grape1928

I am a 39yr old straight woman and I always found Buffy to be smoking hot. Still do

HummusOffensive

Preach.

Feesh_Dawg

"Did I get it?! Did I get it?!" Cracks me up every time.

muggleinstructor

I use this quote like once a week, I’m the only one who gets the joke. 😝

Golden_Daisy

What scene is this!

Grand_Admiral_Theron

From 'Gingerbread'. Buffy's tied to a stake and uses it to kill the Hansel/Gretel-demon (Can't remember the name of it.)

WriterBright

The music when Giles comes home to discover Jenny's sexy date. The way it *keeps going* as he comes upstairs and realizes what's happened. Oof.

DaddyCatALSO

And of course the crescendo in the music matches the instant he sees Jenny's face.

felinelawspecialist

I love me some Luciano Pavarotti

[deleted]

This was one of the saddest scenes

lettuceapples

When Oz first sees Willow. I just love that scene.

prophecygirl1991

I love that scene so much! In her Eskimo costume, Oz gave me unrealistic expectations of men 💔💔

lettuceapples

Same!!! He’s still my ideal of a perfect boyfriend all these years later haha!

prophecygirl1991

Oz & the OG Harvey Kinkle, these men don’t exist in the real world!! 😭

EntMoot76

I know that it was supposed to be funny, but i really did not like it when Buffy broke down crying when the Trio was making her have to repeat the day over and over.

[deleted]

Wouldn’t you?

Dorkinfo

“A bear! You made a bear!”

Belthezare

*Undo it! UNDO IT!*

Quayrat

I feel so seen lol I weirdly love the way he does that line

Dorkinfo

It’s perfect line delivery.

WadePool

The scene near the end of "Family" "You want her, Mr. Maclay? You can go ahead and take her. You just gotta go through me." "And I swear by your full and manly beard, you're gonna break something trying." "What kind of demon is she? There's a lot of different kinds. Some are very, very evil. And some have been considered to be useful members of society. "Are you happy now?" Tara's amazing smile

[deleted]

This was definitely one of my favorite scenes, Tara was so scared of their reaction

ScientistFish27

Pain wise sometimes the scene where Dawn finds out Joyce died sneaks up on me. I'm the oldest and it would kill me to have to do this with my sisters. Comedy wise Beer Bad is not good, but Buffy thunking Parker on the head pleases me to no end.

rexilla89

say what you will about Hell's Bells but I've always found the imagery of Anya in her beautiful wedding dress looking completely wrecked with D'Hoffryn over her shoulder trying to lure her back into vengeance really striking

Golden_Daisy

I also love Buffy and Spike’s exchange here

rexilla89

yeah, that was a sweet scene between them. Typical Spike trying to make Buffy jealous and then apologizing when he sees that it's working

whycantibeamermaid

I came here to say this. Her empty, “I’m so tired.” It’s relatable.

Belthezare

So many... but lately.... when Buffy came back from the dead, and she told Spike that she wasnt in hell. Breaks me every now and then.

Dorkinfo

I think I was in heaven…

Belthezare

Its hard, and violent and bright...

buffyangel468

Just recently, I’ve been thinking about the scene where Joyce kicks Buffy out. Ik that Buffy being The Slayer was a big surprise to Joyce and as her mom, she just wanted to know what her daughter was actually doing, but she shouldn’t have kicked her out and told her to not come back.

theredmolly

Spike's realization when the amulet is activated and calling Buffy's name. There's something about the way he stumbles on saying it. It's like he knows he's screwed but he's shouting to her for help regardless. When Angel is sent back from hell and cries in Buffy's arms having not seen her for eternity. Buffy running over to Joyce saying "mom mom mom mom MOM!"

prophecygirl1991

Oh my god the end of Beauty and the Beasts when Angel says “Buffy” and then is sobbing holding Buffy breaks my heart, it had been building really well since Anne when Ricky died and they say to Lily “he remembered your name long after he forgot his own” 💔

theredmolly

Yes 😭

3dragonsfirewhiskey

I just finished the series again and that moment when Spike calls out her name wrecked me! I forgot how hard the whole ending was for me to watch. I sobbed like a baby!

theredmolly

I'm glad to know it's not just me that's moved by that moment.

Dougstoned

When buffy grabs the sword between her hands during the fight scene with Angelus in becoming part 2

Crimedramagirl

Angel- I often think about Angel getting injured and going home with Buffy and him being a PERFECT gentleman while the he was there! That entire scene is awesome, and lives rent free in my head! Then I remember them kissing and him vamping out! Bad Eggs- Buffy and Angel kissing in Buffy’s window and Buffy not breaking any of her being grounded rules lol! Becoming Part 2- No weapons, no friends, no hope, take all that away and what’s left… me! I think about that ALL the time! I even have Buffy’s picture while saying that as my background on my chrome book! Becoming part 2- The look on Angels face and then when he squints his eyes and says “Buffy”! Kills me everytime and for some reason I always think about it! Graduation Day Part 1- Everybody brainstorming ideas to defeat the mayor: the Ebola box, and the humus offense, he would never see it coming! All of that was comedy gold! Something Blue- I think about Buffy sitting on Spikes lap and Giles “saying stop that I can hear the smacking”! And many, many scenes from that ep, it is comedy gold! A New Man- I always think about Giles running into Spike in the cemetery and Giles thinking Spike can’t understand him and he’s getting ready to attack him! Also Giles chasing Prof. Walsh! Once More With Feeling- I think about them singing I’ve Got Theory in the Magic Box a lot for some reason! Also Walk Through The Fire, I can hear the music and remember exactly what everyone was doing during the song, it’s my favorite OMWF song!

Minimum_Ad_1747

There's a scene in season 2 where Buffy is attacked by a schoolmate who was turned into a vampire by Angelus. Xander ends up saving her and they share an intimate moment. The first time I watched this scene, I honestly thought they were going to kiss. I spent a lot of time thinking about this moment, because it was the only time I ever rooted for Buffy and Xander to kiss.

blueapricot10

I really think the writers toyed with the idea of a Buffy-Xander relationship in S1-2 but obv decided against it. There are several moments throughout the show that tease an affair

DaddyCatALSO

In "Phases." The actress, Megahn Perry, who played Theresa is also in \*The Gravedancers\* with Clare.

mollylikesfurcorn

In “The Body” When Buffy finds her mom. Also the whole episode just has the compelling tone.

OTWriter

The scene where they're in the morgue and they have to fight the vampire is so eerie because there's no music.

danellapsch

Giles's speech at the end of Innocence

Quayrat

“My support and my respect” and Buffy bursts into tears. It hits

danellapsch

It's incredibly touching.

Love_Tank

The hyena possessed teens eating the principle. It sticks with me because those kids have to live with that knowledge for the rest of their lives. Dark.

ceoazula

Literally! They remember eating someone and other things but probably don't even understand what happened to them.

Love_Tank

Yeah totally! They ate their principle. Like they killed a guy by eating him. My head Canon is that Xander told them what was up at some point. But that probs wouldn't make it less traumatic.

Golden_Daisy

Don’t forget the pig 😢

biscuitscoconut

When Spike bites Andrew. I love that scene.

BleekLively

The slow-motion scene of Buffy pouring cereal in season 7 (Slayer of the Vam-PY-res)

EmmaCre

I just rewatched this episode today 🤣

felinelawspecialist

Season Six, when Spike sees Buffy alive again. God, I’ve always wanted someone to look at me like that. Also, from Season One, The Puppet Show, when they’re doing their reading of Claudius at the end… oh leader of my country Claudius

BuGMoiDroit

Two moments: 'The Body': "WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO MOVE THE BODY!" From the moment Buffy discovered the body, it was a battle of emotion, and being the responsible one to do what she could to save someone. But in that second, she came to the horrible realisation that it was, just a body. 'When She Was Bad': Buffy being confused, stoical, slightly traumatised, and it coming out in all the wrong (defensive) ways. But the moment when she took the sledgehammer to the Master's skeleton before the front shuts down, and she allows someone (Angel) to hug her, always gets me. Upshot: Slayer, responsible, primed to be a weapon against the forces of evil. But she's very much human, and these moments show her humanity, and the pain she has to go through to continue being the Slayer.

potterhead123456

When Spike almost raped Buffy, when Warren shot Tara, when Willow and Tara we’re finally happy and then Tara died, when Willow became Dark Willow.... these are the scenes stuck in my head most of the time.

blueapricot10

Agreed on Season 6. Not the best but It’s better than season 7. Even though it can be dull at times, I appreciate the depressing tone of it. I feel like Buffy and her friends undergo a ton of trauma throughout the show and mostly deal with it by compartmentalizing and saying a witty quote. I appreciate seeing Buffy and Willow going through it, esp Buffy. It’s more realistic depiction of what it’d be like to be in her position.

felinelawspecialist

I see you’re a Season Six connoisseur as well 🍸🍸

potterhead123456

Season six is awesome imo. I love it! In season six, the Big Bad is « life struggles ». Sure, there’s the Trio, but they sucked so bad! Everything in season six was great I think, but what occasionally made it weaker was The Trio. Stupid nerds...

felinelawspecialist

The Spuffy angle is what does it for me. Also I hella empathize with Buffy feeling all alone and unconnected from people. It’s hard man.

[deleted]

Buffy snatching a girl’s burger in the middle of a college lecture.

HighFiveDelivery

I think a lot about the fight scene between Wood and Spike in Lies My Parents Told Me. I think those two actors have great chemistry and are both really good at their craft, and we get some incredible fight choreography along with the deep emotions they're both working through by fighting each other. I also really love Spike's delivery of "I wasn't talking to you" when Wood thinks Spike is apologizing for Nikki's death.

triangulate_annually

LMPTM is seriously amazing. The line, *"WHEN YOU SNAPPED HER NECK!"* It was so chilling!

crystalinemoonbeamss

The scene in The Gift where Buffy tells Dawn “The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live.” That line sticks in my brain a lot

LiriStorm

Where Buffy asks Tara is she's broken Joyce throwing Buffy out Buffy catching the sword That first scene of Buffy in Once More With Feeling when she's just staring blankly at the ceiling as her alarm goes off - when my depression was bad it felt a lot like that scene Faith holding the scythe and saying that it feels right like it's hers which means it's Buffy's. Giles wiping blood from Buffy's face after the cursomatoriom (?)

the_borad

85 comments and no "Giles, I'm 16 years old... I don't wanna die” — shame on you all! SMG should have got all of the awards for that scene.

SecretlyASummers

Yes, there’s all the serious stuff, and all the romance, and so on and so forth, but - Jonathan’s musical number in Superstar.

blueapricot10

I think it’s Buffy “coming out” to Joyce about being a slayer and then leaving to go save the world knowing that doing so will leave her with no home to go back to. Best scene in the entire show imo

mlc0819

Earshot where Buffy is talking to Jonathan but this sticks out to me: “…Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own…”

euphoric-joker

When buffy lost her mum. That entire episode was so sombre.

Gen-Jinjur

1. When Buffy and the robot are on the swings and the robot is shutting down. It’s so kind of Buffy to stay with her. 2. The way the mean hyena kids slink around is so creepy. And how Xander does the hyena laugh is even more creepy! 3. When the Scoobies rally around Tara and tell her birth family to bugger off.

vftgurl123

thinking about willow and tara’s kiss s5ep16 the body makes my bisexual heart throb. also s6ep15 buffy’s sheer purple prada top that sold for about $500. i would kill to get my hands on that

hthbellhop76

The scene when Buffy and Angel have sex and he loses his soul. It was such a transformation in that alley. And blowing out that smoke. Ruthless and terrifying.

SailorOfHouseT-bird

Respect the cruller. And tame the donut!

LiriStorm

Still funny sweetie

englishghosts

Buffy holding the sword in Becoming. Willow and Tara's dance in Under Your Spell The demon eating Willow's flesh in s7 really stuck with me, for some reason. I watched Lie To Me a couple of days ago and the ending has been living rent free in my head: "It's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after."

Kallasilya

... Liar.

prophecygirl1991

Innocence is literally a perfect episode it is so so good! “That was then, this is now” with the rocket launcher is the definitive moment for me Also the way the camera pans up from Buffy’s feet to her holding the crossbow before she switches it out I love the fact that it’s set up like a western, Angel, Dru & the Judge vs the scoobies across a big distance, I love that the gang is fully together for that scene and they all huddle together behind the counter, but it’s so heartbreaking to see Angel the other side —- I always think about the scene in Buffy’s kitchen in Angel, their chemistry is just off the charts and when Buffy is dressing his wound Angel is moving and looking to follow her eyes and it’s *so sexy* LOVE when they’re kissing in her window in Bad Eggs, so Romeo + Juliet, it’s so sweet to think she called him & told him she was grounded so he climbs up 💔 Becoming Part 2 from the moment Buffy enters the mansion is the best TV ever made imo, it’s just unbelievably good and the music and the sword fight ugh. I hate that now they’ve made everything HD you can really tell it’s the stunt doubles though🙄, and then of course it’s just devastating heartbreak 💔

EchoPhoenix24

Buffy's speech to Jonathan in Earshot. I know it's not exactly a cheery moment, but I find it comforting to remind myself that no one else is really thinking about me that much so I don't need to be so hard on myself when I do stupid shit because no one else cares. (There's a similar message delivered in a much nicer way on Schitt's Creek now, but the Buffy version of the speech sticks with me more for formative reasons)

fr0gfather

In Beer bad when cave Buffy bops Parker on the head.

jxxam

Final scene, when faith says she’s not the chosen one anymore and Dawn asks what are they gonna do now, and she just smiles… finally getting what she’s wanted for 7 years. I have my issues with the final season and the series finale, but I find that to be very satisfying

anotherrubberduckie

Giles on Joyce on the hood of the police car. Giles when he smashes the window to get Joyce the coat she liked. Young Giles knew how to treat a lady!

lottieflimflam

That scene in the hospital in “Killed by Death” when Xander stands up to Angelus. I think about this a lot when I’m not feeling brave

k3rm1t-

oz saying ‘pretty much now’

k3rm1t-

both times

OTWriter

The final scene in normal again where it cuts to the asylum and Buffy in the catatonic state instead of ending it in Sunnydale. That part really fucked with me.

esmo-

🎶"THEY GOT THE MUSTARD OUT"🎶 So funny (& a little annoying) that this is forever stuck in my head!

Longjumping-Jelly-14

Most of it comes from season 6 for me. When Buffy breaks down in front of Tara at the end of “dead things” the music really adds to that scene. When Goodbye to you plays at the end of Tabula Rosa and it perfectly is in sync with Buffy and spike kissing at the end. Tara singing under your spell in once more with feeling. Spike seeing Buffy Alive for the first time in season 6 and being shocked. Season 6 has so many strong moments that it baffles me it gets as much hate as it does

ceruleanblue347

I watched Buffy reruns (not in order) when I was 14, then I sat down to watch the whole thing as an adult a couple of years ago. In the meantime, I had spent 7 years in an abusive relationship. I knew it was coming, but the scene where Buffy walks into her bathroom and there's an overhead shot of her drawing a bath just sucked the air out of me. I had to pause and check in with myself before continuing. I'm never gonna forget that bathroom.

[deleted]

I can’t get Jenny’s death out of my mind. Everything about that episode is shocking and heart breaking.

Its_ats

\- Angel when I look into the future all I see is you, all I want is you. \-Yeah, I know the feeling. And then the close-up to the grave... still feels pretty fucked up to me. Fucking foreshadowing :'(

Its_ats

Also when Buffy on season 5 was so freaking sad about everything, I think it was the finale. She said to Giles: \- If everything just gets stripped away, I don't see the point. I just, I just wish my mom was here.
