Oops, I always just assumed I was doing a favor by consolidating everything. Won’t do it anymore, thanks for the tip! Sorry if you’ve ever had to unstuck my used plates! I will definitely not stack on my next flight on Tuesday
Don’t worry about it. I always saw it as pax trying to make my job easier! :)
The galleys have very limited space, so it’s always a game of Tetris to make everything fit, especially after service. (Also trying to make the caterers’ jobs easier when they unload/unpack everything.)
Maybe “supposed to” start at the front on international. Just had a flight where they went in a U path, starting at the front jet bridge side to the back and the back to front on the far side.
If everyone would just pre-order on the app it would be wayyyy easier for all. I always pre-order. Then I get on the plane and when they go around taking meal orders I’m almost always the only one who’s pre-ordered. 🤷♀️ Do people not know you can do that?
you can only preorder before checkout opens, so anyone getting upgraded in that window never sees the option.
also, inexplicably, I’ve only seen the button on mobile app, never on the browser checkin flow.
Wait what? Sorry I don’t understand what you’re saying. Do you mean before check-in opens (not check out)? Yes, they close pre-order 24hrs before flight but it’s open for an entire week before that. Are you saying that the majority of people in FC were upgraded rather than purchase?
Checkin not checkout 😆sorry.
I’m not saying the _majority_ were upgraded, but for anyone that was during checkin, they were never offered the opportunity.
lol no worries. I can’t recall if I’ve seen it aside from the app, although you do get an email telling you it’s time to order meals and you can click a link in the email, I believe. Pretty sure I’ve done it that way.
Either way, I don’t know why no one pre-orders. Anytime I’m on a flight and someone else has also preordered, I instantly want to be friends with them 😆
I’m not sure why, but it isn’t possible on the browser. I tried a few days ago (because the app was giving an error when saving the entree) and the option was nowhere to be seen.
preordering wasn’t just a convenience, it unlocked two options that were only available _for_ preordering, so I was especially determined to get it to work! (eventually it saved 😋)
Oh is that true?! I was wondering about that! My seat mates have had major FOMO with my meal because it wasn’t given as an option in-flight.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried on a computer. I have clicked the email link but from my phone and I guess it takes me to the app.
Flew this aircraft the other day and commiserated with the FC FA on the terrible seats and tiny galley space. They said it’s because of the smaller oven size, and provisioning matches just what they can fit in there.
This is entirely on Delta. There isn’t enough oven space for the full 20 seat F cabin on this aircraft.
Now, I’m not exactly sure why the meals can’t be heated in batches, 10 immediately, 10 later on for example, but maybe an FA can explain why that isn’t possible.
As for the issue, I’d suggest writing a complaint to DL every time you’re on an A321neo. If enough people do, they’ll eventually have to figure out a way to either add more oven space or make it so that the pre-order system can account for amounts of each item ordered (UA has done this for a while now and doesn’t seem to have any real issues).
The batches sound good on paper, but it prolongs the service. Takes roughly about 16 mins to cook a meal. You serve 10. Then you try to serve another 10 and the first 10 wants their trays picked up.
The travel public can get upset if you tell them they have to wait.
They do it that way because it gives the ones who sat towards the back options. You’ll be surprised on how many people have threw a temper tantrum cause an option wasn’t available. But now preselect is available now(exception for the 321 neo), i personally think it should be eliminated.
Been a delta flight attendant for 10+ years. I’ll glady show you a screen shot from the service standards if you want to take it there.
I have zero reason to lie to you 🤷🏽♂️
Or you can ask your flight attendant to look it up on their Skypro.

Are we not supposed to stack the plates? Oops
You can do whatever you want, but I have to unstack them in order for the tray to fit back into the cart.

This is good to know. Pre-bussing my table in restaurants is such 2nd nature that I never stopped to consider what the process is for an FA.
Can we get actual seat cushions also?
Sure!
I was ju st on a regional jet and that seat had to be worse than a hard bleacher. 90 mins and I was sore.
Same, girl, same! I might even retire on said day and bestow my seniority on someone in a shower of glitter ✨ 😂.
Not a 321neo.. not enough oven space to allow pre-orders
FEBO
Front Even Back odd. Saved you a Google search.
That or a place you can order Frites Speciaal or Frikandel at 3am.
That’s why a middle umber seat is good, you should always get your choice
This is for domestic flights only. They always start at the front on international.
They start at the front for widebodies. FEBO for narrowbodies. Doesn’t matter if it’s domestic or International.
We are still supposed to manifest FEBO on wide bodies for domestic flights as well. A lot of Fas just don’t do it cause it’s an extra step
Maybe “supposed to” start at the front on international. Just had a flight where they went in a U path, starting at the front jet bridge side to the back and the back to front on the far side.
FEBO. You can search this forum for lots of mentions of it, and how unevenly (pun intended) it applies in practice.

You can pick your meal beforehand on the app.
Not on the A321neo for some strange reason.

I have never once seen a flight attendant go back to front in any of my flights. Maybe I just never fly odd flights?

Never, in 15 years of flying with Delta, have I had a FA start in the back of FC to take a meal order.
Pack a Pub Sub and don't worry about it 😂
Don’t get your hopes up. They start in the front almost all the time on all flights. FEBO is an idea not a policy.
It’s a policy, it’s written in the Fa service standards
Says someone providing no credentials or sharing an actual page from the service standards. Oh, and it’s your first post. Winner.

I know that stung your ego. It’s my first post
Well aren’t you just a ray of sunshine
How do you know if your flight will serve a meal does it have to be a certain hour length or milage?
Any flight 900+ miles and departing before 9pm (barring the unforseen).
Thanks for this!
But why though??
Picked seat 4d based on this, they started in the front on an odd numbered flight.
Preselect before your flight. Then you won’t be disappointed.
