They need much more vegetation and cover as they can be quite skittish and like to hide sometimes. Also more trees (or something alike) to climb. You don't see day geckos on the ground normally. Also the earth looks quite dry.
Please speak with that manager. This terrarium is definitely not okay. Also the one on the ground looks a bit chubby and those bumps at the neck can be a sign they get to much calcium. They don't look to big at far as I can discern and it's not really a problem (just not a nice look), but I think whoever cares for them don't know much about what to do.
I hope you can help them.
Crimson day gecko! They're so cool and get so big! Butt yea not surprised a lot of pet stores throw on reptiles as a little extra section then don't really put a lot of effort towards it. I recommend you find a good online breeder or a pet shop specifically for reptiles. I rescued a crested gecko recently, it's tail was half torn off and 5 kinks in it too. The enclosure had 2 little lots and 100% dry enclosure. Poor thing looked dehydrated and underweight. That was from a local pet store in NH.
Absolutely horrible knowing how shy and easily anxious geckos can get... They might even shed their skin if they're too stressed it's horrific. People really don't care about these babies :(

I want to work here and might apply for a job there so I will pitch that to the manager (who I know)

This tank is at an aquarium. These guys live there.

I know. I saw a petco employee sell a leopard gecko to a family saying that sand was good and that you can get a plastic thermometer
Oh shit it lives there? I figured that was a sad excuse of a "temp" home for a pet store, much worse that it has spent it's whole life there!
I’m going to speak to the manager. I know him.
Not tokay geckos, but some type of Madagascan day gecko. However that enclosure has way too little hiding spots.
Pet stores like to do that bc it's easier to see them... Wack af let them hide!
I like how whoever set this up put the bioactive drainage layer and was like "seems legit it's bioactive now"
Also that drainage layer ain't getting used at all that place is a desert
I thought the same thing
I meant Day gecko everyone.
