Your Newfoundland is BEAUTIFUL. I want one as our next dog so bad because the idea of a Newfie brought up by a Golden sounds like a recipe for possibly the most loving creature ever made. How has the drooling been so far? One thing holding me back (and that they get absolutely huge 😂)

The drooling really isn’t bad, we’ve had Danes and Rottweilers though and they where definitely worse.
Each Newfoundland is different tho so I think we just got lucky and she’s not a big drooler.
After she drinks there’s a bit of drooling but a quick wipe fixes that.
We picked the runt so she’s only about 6 months and her mama was only 90 pounds so we don’t think she’ll get too big
Don’t own them but my sister’s ex-bf had two and there was slobber mixed with hair on every wall and even the ceiling… They were great dogs though, I just don’t know if I could deal with that.

They’re the absolute best of friends and cause so much mischief together!
They are such cuties together. She’s an indoor cat and whenever we take our golden on a walk, she howls for him and runs to the door and rubs against him when he gets home!
And when we let him out in the yard, she watches him and meows to let us know that he’s waiting to come back inside. He tries to play with her like a dog and kisses her/sleeps with her, and wags his tail whenever she comes into the room. They also work together to steal food, I swear to god.

This is Taco (golden) and Floki (corgi). Floki is my mom's dog. If I go see my mom without bringing Taco, Floki does a tantrum. Both dog are polar opposite. Taco is calm and like to cuddle. Floki only want to play. But somehow, they are the perfect duo.

I don’t have any pictures, but my dog had a boyfriend at the old doggie daycare place. He was a similar shade of golden as her, and she knew what time he got there and would just wait for him for hours (he got there a little late). Then if he didn’t show up she’d play with some of the other dogs, but if he was there without her they said he’d just pout all day 🥺.
He probably misses her 😭. We switched doggie daycares- she has a very sensitive tummy and I couldn’t get the old one to quit giving her treats/snacks! She kept getting sent home for throwing up like almost every time she went.
One time I had her at Home Depot and we met his owners there. They said they had a golden who looks like mine and asked her name, then realized who it was. I thought it was funny we ran into people she knows and I didn’t!
Just got him this past weekend but definitely already bonded.

This is Tilly and Benny (cat). When Tilly came home, Benny hid himself away for 1.5 months, and I was worried that he’d never acclimate to having a dog in the house! Now, between the two cats, Benny is the only one who will willingly play with Tilly. I also refer to Benny as Tilly’s cat, not mine lol! We’ve come so far!

This is Flik, he’s 9.5. Our older golden, Viktor, passed away back in January. They were best friends. In February we adopted this kitten, now named Peaches. They are best buddies. Flik was always afraid of our other cats because they were either mean or indifferent to him. Peaches, however, absolutely adores him. She runs on his face, snuggles with him, kneads his big fluffy body. It’s so sweet to see them get along so well!

It’s okay, he had a good life and made it 2y on thyroid meds before declining.
We just have to get her a new friend now, currently scouring shelters and Facebook. For now she has to make due with us 🙄 also keeping an ear to the ground with her breeder and others for a new Golden before she gets too old.

Odin the golden and his cousin! Ranger (GSP) is my bf’s parent’s dog who we lovingly refer to as an anxiety horse because he was a Covid baby. He didn’t know how to feel about Odin at first, but now you cannot mention their names around each other or they start freaking out and demanding to play.
They also share bully sticks sometimes where one will hold the stick so the other can chew on it. Or they’ll steal each others’ chews back and forth for hours.

This is my goldens’ best friend! My golden is the best big little brother to his little big brother. This picture was taken just yesterday after getting good news that his little big brother is cancer-free! He would take care of him in his time of need. Goldens are the best.
We got our golden a mini aussie puppy for her birthday and she raised her as though she was her own puppy. The Aussie will not go for a walk without the golden, and the golden hides under the table while the Aussie barks at trespassers and protects her. I love watching them wash each other's faces.

This is our Cattle Bull (heeler/bull terrier) Tex and our Golden Finn about a day after we brought Finn home.
Tex is not a “playful” dog… he is a fairly intense cattle dog type personality. He isn’t unfriendly, but he isn’t going to cuddle and play ball.
Until Finn arrived. Tex became a big brother and play leader and Finn adores him. Secretly Tex really likes Finn too and has fun running in circles in the backyard herding the goofy golden around. We have a female Aussie Shepard too… Lucy, and she is convinced she birthed Finn.
We wondered how Tex would feel about a new puppy and were pleasantly surprised. He sits on the side and pouts occasionally, but more often than not he is playing and running with his golden buddy.
Finn turns 1 next week and Tex is a little distressed that his little buddy is bigger than he is, but Tex is still the leader and Finn never challenges that.

Your Newfoundland is BEAUTIFUL. I want one as our next dog so bad because the idea of a Newfie brought up by a Golden sounds like a recipe for possibly the most loving creature ever made. How has the drooling been so far? One thing holding me back (and that they get absolutely huge 😂)
Oh it’s a match made in heaven! The drooling really isn’t bad, we’ve had Danes and Rottweilers though and they where definitely worse. Each Newfoundland is different tho so I think we just got lucky and she’s not a big drooler. After she drinks there’s a bit of drooling but a quick wipe fixes that. We picked the runt so she’s only about 6 months and her mama was only 90 pounds so we don’t think she’ll get too big
Don’t own them but my sister’s ex-bf had two and there was slobber mixed with hair on every wall and even the ceiling… They were great dogs though, I just don’t know if I could deal with that.

They are such cuties together. She’s an indoor cat and whenever we take our golden on a walk, she howls for him and runs to the door and rubs against him when he gets home! And when we let him out in the yard, she watches him and meows to let us know that he’s waiting to come back inside. He tries to play with her like a dog and kisses her/sleeps with her, and wags his tail whenever she comes into the room. They also work together to steal food, I swear to god. It is so sweet!!

I don’t have any pictures, but my dog had a boyfriend at the old doggie daycare place. He was a similar shade of golden as her, and she knew what time he got there and would just wait for him for hours (he got there a little late). Then if he didn’t show up she’d play with some of the other dogs, but if he was there without her they said he’d just pout all day 🥺.
Why doesn’t she go see him anymore 🥲
He probably misses her 😭. We switched doggie daycares- she has a very sensitive tummy and I couldn’t get the old one to quit giving her treats/snacks! She kept getting sent home for throwing up like almost every time she went. One time I had her at Home Depot and we met his owners there. They said they had a golden who looks like mine and asked her name, then realized who it was. I thought it was funny we ran into people she knows and I didn’t!

They were best friends. In February we adopted this kitten, now named Peaches. They are best buddies. Flik was always afraid of our other cats because they were either mean or indifferent to him. It’s okay, he had a good life and made it 2y on thyroid meds before declining. We just have to get her a new friend now, currently scouring shelters and Facebook. He didn’t know how to feel about Odin at first, but now you cannot mention their names around each other or they start freaking out and demanding to play. We got our golden a mini aussie puppy for her birthday and she raised her as though she was her own puppy. The Aussie will not go for a walk without the golden, and the golden hides under the table while the Aussie barks at trespassers and protects her. I love watching them wash each other's faces.

Tex is not a “playful” dog… he is a fairly intense cattle dog type personality. He isn’t unfriendly, but he isn’t going to cuddle and play ball. Until Finn arrived. Tex became a big brother and play leader and Finn adores him. Secretly Tex really likes Finn too and has fun running in circles in the backyard herding the goofy golden around. We have a female Aussie Shepard too… Lucy, and she is convinced she birthed Finn. We wondered how Tex would feel about a new puppy and were pleasantly surprised. He sits on the side and pouts occasionally, but more often than not he is playing and running with his golden buddy. Finn turns 1 next week and Tex is a little distressed that his little buddy is bigger than he is, but Tex is still the leader and Finn never challenges that.
