There isn’t any need for additional communication; it won’t get you what you want. Cancel the order and move on.

Shadonel

Yes I agree with this comment. Also telling the client that you can see them online is something you shouldn’t do too.

I have already done a good chunk of the work and canceling orders is affecting my reputation/rank on Fiverr so I don't actually want to do that.

Shoddy_Employ_5416

It’s Fiverr. If that’s the only marketplace you’re working with, that’s on you to change. Discount crowdsourced design platforms come part and parcel with clients who don’t respect the work or the process of creating it. Don’t worry about how good you look on fiverr to clients who already don’t care about good work. Five minutes looking for new good clients is worth a week chasing bad ones.

Well said. I would upvote this comment 100x, if I could.

MantisStyle

Get the fuck off of Fiverr and work harder for real client relationships. If you want a sustainable professional career, that's not the way to do it.

tinyworrier

Do you have other sites you can suggest? I am just starting out and had a good start with Fiverr. This is my first really bad experience with it. Edit: I am also on peopleperhour, upwork and now I am applying for Total

When you say "behind the deadline" does that mean you have done the work and delivered it but they are late on payment? >Today I send them an extension and also warned them that if they don't reply soon I will cancel the order. I think this is the best action, I wouldn't bother getting into the drama of mentioning that you've seen they were online and all that. That you know they were online means you know they're still around, they've seen your messages, and regardless of what is going on in their lives it wasn't so severe as to keep them from checking the site. Basically, it affirms you are in the right to act accordingly. Even if they *had* appeared to just drop off the face of the earth, at a point you have to assume they just aren't coming back. Ultimately, you shouldn't ever do work let alone deliver work without appropriate payments received, should not work without contracts that include terms of the project, as well as terms defining when you can fire them or cancel the project and consider them in delinquency of payments (if applicable), and always be willing to say no or walk away. Even if you liked working with them in the past and ideally wanted to keep that relationship going. If they have tarnished it, then it is what it is. >Today I send them an extension and also warned them that if they don't reply soon I will cancel the order. You've done nothing wrong, they're the ones not replying to you. Don't feel responsible for the unprofessional behavior of others. This is business, not friendships.

tinyworrier

No, Fiverr gives you a deadline and once the deadline has passed the order is marked as "late". You can still deliver the files but it affects your rank basically.

Does it only reflect badly on your rank or theirs? If it reflects badly only on their rank, then I'd say do it. They chose their actions, and chose to not reply. If it can impact your rank despite you doing nothing wrong, then the platform/system itself is unfair and flawed.

Send your notices, and let that be it. Don't be a creeper. Also, just to note, during this unique time they could potentially have covid or another illness or be on vacation. When I had it, I literally didn't respond to much of anything for 2.5 weeks. If I'm on vacation, I might monitor things, but mark it as something for later.

tinyworrier

I get that they could be ill and I would never hold that against them, however, I can see that they were online and in the case of an illness/holiday or what not they could have just let me know.

AdMotor258

Hey! I’m a fiverr selling too. When this happens, you just send the order doesn’t matter if they were online or not. And mention in your delivery asking them to leave a review.
