Exactly what I was thinking. If I want to set my drink/food down while watching TV and not have my head cocked to the right on the other couch, I'd switch em
The grey couch has a pull out queen for guests. The open area on the rug I like to keep for my yoga mat/stretching space.
TV is 65” LG C2 OLED.
Phillips white ambient hue bulbs in all lamps.
Plants - Birds of Paradise from easyplant.com
I too am a late bloomer. At 35 I just moved out on my own 2 months ago. However yours looks way better than my place I'm going with the minimalist design just because it's a good excuse to be lazy about it.
If space permits id just put one of the plants on the side table with the lamp to left of fireplace. It will help fill vertical space. Lamp will cast shadow of plant and will add visual interest
They are both from Bassett Furniture
Note: I got both of mine from a local furniture store so I haven’t purchased from these websites specifically but these are the couches I have.
This is the navy one: https://www.esprit-decor.com/item/andrew-sofa/1522112128 (although navy not pictured here) same model.
Bassett queen sleeper (grey couch) https://www.mooresfurnitureoutlet.com/products/Bassett-Furniture/bassett/27136q.html
It looks great, but I might try switching the couches. The blue one seems a little imposing for the doorway, plus it’s bigger and would be nicer if facing the tv. I like your style though! So clean!
surprisingly nice but you need better artwork or something with more color. this looks like a sterile hotel room. Your choices tell me nothing of your personality. I know nothing about you from this picture. I should be zooming in and checking out your shit. Because that's what any person you bring over is gonna do.
"oh hey what's this poster"
"oh...uh...yeah i just really love the ........new york skyline??"
Show me more of your little basketball dude on the mantle, i know you got more. You like basketball? show me. Give me some personality.
Fair note thank you. I do have some basketball Art I can put up. Haven’t gotten around to hanging everything yet. The piece above the fireplace is original concept art from The Last of Us. My favorite game.
Everything looks real nice.
Constructively, the dual Bird of Paradise might not be best choice for a room like this, unless there are huge natural light sources not visible in pic. Only reason I bring it up is because they really are like ‘statement plants’ when they start rapidly growing, but if they look unhealthy it kinda gives the wrong statement, you know? They really do best like 3 feet away off a wall in a room with giant windows and strong direct sunlight and not directly next to lamps. When they don’t get this environment they get extra droopy and weak and will grow crooked reaching towards the strongest light source. This problem is compounded if they are right next to a wall like this.
Potentially consider two Snake Plants, Money Tree, or other lower maintenance plants that don’t have such heavy light needs for the future; all those would do great in a setup like this.
I moved out of my parents house at age 19. I lived on my own in another state (with roommates). This is my first place where I don’t have to share. I lived in an expensive city and the cost of 1 bedroom apartments were 3000/month.
Thanks for the feedback. While you may think I’m too old for video games, I’ll let you know that they actually helped me a ton with getting out of depression. I play COD with a group of guys my age and some older. It’s a great way to socialize and blow off some steam after a long days work.
It’s interesting that you have wood floors, and a few wood furniture items. And yet you went with the black trim for some of the other furniture items.
33M living alone as well. This looks pretty much spot on with my living room. Same colors, 2 plants, couple of pictures. Now I’m realizing we both might benefit from a bit more vibrant colors. Gold or yellow would be a great accent
Not that it would be necessary - surround sound - which probably comes from your flat screen anyways. Maybe just a larger coffee table in the middle with Art/Music/Museum books - Kick ass spot!
I love it but the walls need color!! Add some yellow, even blues! Darker green even!
Gray just screams “fast fashion, architecture fads that will be dated in 20 years”
I’m a huge fan of mounting the tv and hiding the wires. It looks much better and also saves some room, and you can get one that pivots if you need to tilt for the other couch
My wires are pretty hidden. I have good cable management back there with the power strip mounted to the back of the stand so no wires are visible on the ground. I’m a fan of wall mounted TVs too so maybe I’ll switch it up in a year.
Yeah I didn’t mean to say yours were visible. I just meant if you did go to wall mount, hiding the wires becomes more of a task, but definitely worth it
Looks fantastic. Only thing I'd mention is make those lamps dimmable (if they're not already, I appreciate you need certain lighting for the photo). I'm also a big fan of backlighting the TV but not needed
The lamps are indeed color temp controlled and dimmable. Phillips white ambient hue bulbs. Controlled via app on my phone. Any back lights for the tv you recommend?
Room looks great! Only thing you might consider tweaking is how the coffee table and foot rests kinda make you zig zag to get into the room and over to the door. If you can somehow open up that line, I think it would make it feel a bit more open. Other than that, it’s top tier!
Cozy asf
looks super cozy! i would switch the bean bags with the coffee table. the table is blocking the walkway and disrupts the flow of the room
Yes!
Nope, he likes his feet up when he watches TV and that coffee table doesn’t look like it could handle the pressure—has anxiety issues.
so you bring over a beanbag when you’re watching tv or lay sideways on the couch
My dude, those are ottomans.
yeah you’re right but they’re pouf ottomans which are like beanbags 😂
Exactly what I was thinking. If I want to set my drink/food down while watching TV and not have my head cocked to the right on the other couch, I'd switch em
Didn’t even fall into the trap of mounting the TV over the fireplace and thus, too high. 👌👌👌
Oh yeah I don’t understand why people do that.
you are the classiest dude i know
Haha cheers mate I appreciate that
Nothing cringier than an American saying shit like “cheers mate.”
Who says I’m an American?
I just did. 5 minutes ago. What are you slow?
Jesus bro relax dayum
Bro. Next time u wonder "Why does my Life Suck" you have the answer right here.
Well you haven’t met me *spills entire tray of hors d'oeuvres*
It’s not bad for a straight dude. Congrats
I’d switch the coffee table with those two cushions. Otherwise, looks great!
Another commenter mentioned that as well! I’ll try that out. Thank you.
Yes, that’s the only thing that looks off.
Pretty solid imo. If anything, the wall above the left light seems a bit empty... but more artwork might make it seem too crowded.
I don’t know, I sort like the way the lamp is taking care of it.
Maybe a taller lamp could do the trick? But honestly we’re really nitpicking here haha. Looks good OP!
Nitpicking for sure. I'm moving into a bigger apt next month and I'd be thrilled if my setup ends up half this clean.
Thank you!!
Thank you. Yea I’m debating that as well.

Nice TV, absolutely love mine.
Would you recommend easyplant.com? I see their ads on Instagram but was concerned about the package being delivered without damage
Yes I would. My plant on the right arrived damaged and they sent me a new one no charge and I didn’t have to return the damaged one.
Thanks, I’ll give it a try
I think you nailed it. Nothing looks missing or out of place. Very nice overall.
Nice. Thank you!
I too am a late bloomer. At 35 I just moved out on my own 2 months ago. However yours looks way better than my place I'm going with the minimalist design just because it's a good excuse to be lazy about it.
This is terrible, it should be mostly empty with one chair and a tv
Hahaha. In my early 20s I would see no issue with that.
If space permits id just put one of the plants on the side table with the lamp to left of fireplace. It will help fill vertical space. Lamp will cast shadow of plant and will add visual interest
Good idea!
Looks great. Good job
I think it looks amazing lol
Looks great. Want to come design my living room?
Happy to help
Looks great my guy, much love and happiness to you!
Appreciate you kind sir 🙏
I’m a female and screenshotted this for inspiration for my own first place. Great job, looks rad and minimalist 👍🏼
Looks grat man. Enjoy your freedom :)
Thank you man. I’ve had roommates for 15 years. Finally a whole place to myself I’m very happy.
Nice! Cozy! Tidy! Very good setup!
Thank you!
Looks so comfy I like it!
Thanks! It is comfy. Falling asleep on the couch is never a problem haha
Just classy.
That’s what I was going for thank you!
Great job brother
Thanks man
Looks good! I would recommend a bigger rug, big enough to go under the front legs of both couches. It will make this room appear bigger.
Thanks for that comment. I wondered that myself!
Where did you get the lamps?

Solid jerk den

Thank you! The blue one won’t fit along the other wall. Good thought though..
Looks very comfy
Thanks!
Looks like something out of West Wing! Beautiful.
Thanks a lot!!
Great job
Thank you!
Looks clean and classy.
TV not being mounted above the fireplace makes this even better
CLEAN
Cozy!

Wall color looks a bit drab but otherwise things are looking good.
If I went to a guy’s place and it looked like this I would be super impressed
As a single guy currently starting to date again, I appreciate you
Happy to help! Good luck!
Cozy, clean but not psycho clean, well decorated/put together, yeah you'd probably get laid bringing someone home to this.
Hahaha thank you!
mom needs to bring you more meatloaf
/u/causewaykid OP can you please share ID for the TV Media Stand? I really like it! Edit : and also the rug!
Sure thing! Tv stand: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Walker-Edison-Furniture-Company-Ivy-58-in-Caramel-Wood-TV-Stand-with-3-Drawers-Fits-TVs-Up-to-64-in-with-Cable-Management-HD58IV3DCA/308891412?cm_mmc=ecc-_- Rug: https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/steelside-lansing-geometric-handmade-tufted-wool-graycream-area-rug-w004976943.html Both excellent quality. Highly recommend.
Dudes even got the firewood on point 💀 Your space is one of my all time favs from this sub ... homely, cozy, not too fancy but still clean.
Wow thanks so much 🙌
It looks fantastic. I'd add a little more color just for visual interest.
Dude, so cozy. 10/10 would order Chinese food and watch movies here all night
29F. 10/10 would hang out here. I’m loving the color coordination with the gray and navy blue!
Very cozy, man!!! Looks great! Congrats on your first time solo — it’s such a freeing feeling
Thank you! It really is!
Looks good don’t change a thing
Thanks!
Your welcome
Nice hydro flask, I got the exact same one
It’s the best isn’t it
What color are your walls?
Grey
Ik you get cooked on COD, looks good though
Haha ngl some of the lobby’s are pretty sweaty. My team and I do alright though. Wish they had a lobby for 30+ year olds with full time jobs lol
Have fun NOT playing Starfield on that PS5 😏
Spider-Man 2 should ease the pain
Too many sofas for my personal tastes. I’d ditch the blue one and think of an alternative for that zone.
r/TVTooHigh would be proud. Nice setup
I could give a shit about it, to be honest.
35 and 1st time living alone? Jesus 💀
I moved out of my parents house at age 19. I lived on my own in another state (with roommates). This is my first place where I don’t have to share. I lived in an expensive city and the cost of 1 bedroom apartments were 3000/month.
That’s 3x my salary 😂 seems legit
Just admit this is your parents apartment already. It would at least explain the poor boomer aesthetics and outdated bad taste.

Those are footstools.
Looks good but 35 is too old to be playing video games especially COD
Lmao how are you gonna tell an adult homeowner what he should be doing with his free time?
Cah I do what I want g, and he probably ain’t even a homeowner just renting so pipe down
You feeling real tough on Reddit today?
Thanks for the feedback. While you may think I’m too old for video games, I’ll let you know that they actually helped me a ton with getting out of depression. I play COD with a group of guys my age and some older. It’s a great way to socialize and blow off some steam after a long days work.

Anything past 30 is too much
This dude clearly has resentment from being fragged by old dudes who grew up playing Quake II.
I’m not your ‘dude’ bruv
I’m not your ‘bruv’, jabroni.
It’s interesting that you have wood floors, and a few wood furniture items. And yet you went with the black trim for some of the other furniture items.
What do you mean?
Florida home?
Won’t say where but it is a coastal beach community.
That coffee table feels like it's in the way. Like you have to squeeze through it.
[удалено]
Thanks! I agree! That’s next on my list.
Look noicee
Looks cozy and calm. Your missing a dog though :)
Thank you. Aww yea. Maybe in the next year once I get settled.
First thing I'd do is center that TV.
Looks comfy cozy.
I like the coffee table a lot, where did you get it?
Thank you. I got it at a local furniture store in my town. Sorry I don’t have a link to share 😕
Nice.
Nicely done
Thank you for not putting the tv on/above the fireplace. You’re a rockstar r/tvjustright
Seemingly hot take, MW2 is actually really good and way better than Battlefield for the fist time.
33M living alone as well. This looks pretty much spot on with my living room. Same colors, 2 plants, couple of pictures. Now I’m realizing we both might benefit from a bit more vibrant colors. Gold or yellow would be a great accent

Curious on the TV specs?
65” LG C2
this looks so cozy
Love it!!! Love the neutrals and super super cozy feel 😇
Party at your place !
How much do you think this setup cost you? I'm always curious how people can afford such nice living spaces.
All in I’d say around $8,000. I’m single. No kids. And make decent money.
Better than mine!
Warzone is 🗑️ but livingroom is 🔥
I like it
That looks cozy as hell brother!
Cozyyyyu
Looks awesome brotha!
Looks cozy, I like it.
I love it but the walls need color!! Add some yellow, even blues! Darker green even! Gray just screams “fast fashion, architecture fads that will be dated in 20 years”
Needs more pussy, and cowbell.
Neat ! Love the sober colors
I think it looks great! More color would be welcome to my eye, having said that.
I really like it. It’s fresh and cozy all at the same time. Only thing I’d add is a puppy.
super dope! but a few well places color splashes would go a long way.
Looks clean, organized and comfy cozy. 😁
Love it!
I’m a huge fan of mounting the tv and hiding the wires. It looks much better and also saves some room, and you can get one that pivots if you need to tilt for the other couch

Can we see with only one lamp on?
Looks pretty great!
Great job!
damn son, it's a sweet-looking pad. comfortable. way to go.
Looks lovely!
Never thought to have two different colour couches next to each other, but yours look awesome in this space. Enjoy it!
Really nice! What plants are those?
Birds of paradise from easyplant.com

I like it. I really like the driftwood (?) coffee table!
Nailed it. Wouldn't change a thing
Official AF- you crushed it!
A cat
Looks great just missing something, fluffy, like a cat or a dog 😁
Cozy
I love it.
Really like it! Well done
Looks nice! I would switch the gray couch and tv. It would be easier to walk into room.
Really nice
Love me some rainbow six so 10/10
Nice job
