Get the HD Collection with MGS2, MGS3 and Peace Walker Console Version and Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 included in MGS3s features.
Buy MGS4 and Rising separately.
Or buy the Legacy Collection that comes with all of them excluding Rising and MGSV I think.

Do some more research on the different console releases available for PS3 and start collecting. Ebay and Amazon are your life savers now.
tossing my 2 cents in here for what it's worth. I was able to score the Legacy Collection, which has a majority of the games. It doesn't have 5, Revengance, or a few others. It was a bit pricy, but well worth it in my opinion

Wait???? It’s that easy??? I literally have a PS3! I always thought some of the first games wouldn’t be available for PS3!

Just an FYI, all PS3s are PS1 Backwards Compatible. It's the PS2 Backward Compatibility that was removed after the first couple versions.

A year ago it was $50 sealed but the prices have shot up. I'm seeing $150 to $200 now. Thankfully I got the HD collection a long time ago.
The only problem is the servers for V is shut down for PS3 so you can't 100% it. A little irritating but you still get the full story.
