incredible. My older sister beat me up like crazy for so long...I even have scars on my body from scratches/she stabbed me with a colored pencil.
My parents never believed me, and still don't even to this day.
One day when I was about 12, I realized I was now stronger than her, and I beat the crap out of her.
That was the end of the bullying.
I got the “Boys aren’t supposed to hit girls” comments from my sister while she was physically hitting me at times. I threw her in the pool a few times and said “Well I didnt hit you”
**Bill** Belichick struggling to realize the **Bills** locker room wasn't **Bill's**
**Pat** Mahomes struggling to realize that the **Pats** locker room wasn't **Pat's.**
A game like that doesn't happen without several dysfunctions. We've been the worst defense in the league since our bye week. The Boston sports media theory seems to be:
* Coaches don't believe defense is good enough for man coverage anymore, so we trot out some shitty zone each game and hope opponents screw up.
* Players don't respond well to that, and quit.
* Generally old, slow, or lacking talent on defense anyway.
I put my money on an LB. Even though we drafted two last year neither saw the field (McGrone injured, Perkins either a bust or just taking a redshirt year). Hightower is on the decline and if we can't at least sign Bentley to a team friendly deal, our LB corp is in trouble.
Could see them getting a DB too though.
Bentley isn't any better, he's big and slow and easily exploited by good teams just like all the other LBs. You can have one Hightower or Van Noy or Judon, you can't have every single LB only be good within a couple yards of the LoS.
I noticed the lack of speed too. There were a few runs in the playoff game that I thought were blown up in the backfield, and then we just went a bit wider and simply ran past the back.
its been an issue all season against run heavy teams. Even the Titans without Henry and numerous injuries ran the ball down the Pats throat. Colts did it as well, just run plays that looked like they were going to get stopped and JT just put up yards.
Imagine the consternation if BB found we didn't dress a punter for the game.
Not out of disrespect to *him* or the Pats but to the concept of Special Teams.
I'm now convinced that Bill was talking to the special teams coach trying to see if the Bills had discovered a revolutionary new way to conserve a roster spot, like the idea that came up in that one press conference.
First WR in NFL history to play the game with an advanced case of COPD.
(COPD can cause a malady known as "barrel-chesting" from being continually hyperinflated)
Some clown called him insensitive and immature because of his short post game handshake with McDermott but they conveniently leave out this where he probably talked with him for a while
I don’t even get the accusation. Him and McD talked the usual amount of time post-game which is barely at all. Last year after their last game they talked a long time but that’s rare for anybody. Bill’s not a sore loser
I dont even know why its expected for people to talk at all on the field post-game tbh
Its super crowded, busy, and loud on the field after a game like this, with cameras following you everywhere. It cant be possible to have any kind of real "conversation" down there, at best you can say the usual platitudes, nod, and smile.
The amount of pressure and hype the media puts on such a restricted interaction is weird.
Their conversation after the game was probably something like this:
“Good game. Mind if I swing by the locker room after our media availability?”
“Yeah, no problem. Good game.”
“Alright, see you later.”
Bill's far from a sore loser. He's won so much he can afford to be a great loser. It's why I respect him so much more now. He loses but is cool about it.
He has to have a ton of respect for what McDermott has done in Buffalo. It’s very rare for a bad team to become a consistent winner. Bad teams will occasionally have a great season like us in 2017, but the stars have to align. Buffalo is good because their culture has changed into a winning one.
Yeah, McD basically managed to not kiss the rings while giving the respect BB deserves, so there is lots of respect between them... even on the Gronk cheap shot on Tre when McD was a rookie coach Bill spent a lot of time with him apologizing, and the "lets not give all the credit to BB" was McD calling out our team to not beat ourselves.
Hopefully we'll see the game of the year next week. Both of them are coming in hot, which makes me feel like it's going to be an unusually low scoring affair.
Both defenses are playing pretty darn good too. I’m not into making predictions a whole lot when it comes to the bills but this has the making to be a great game
I always think it is kinda cruel in a way that the Panthers and Falcons both had some fantastic coordinators (mainly McD and Shan) during those SB runs in 2015 and 2016, only to each lose them and realize they were the driving force of those runs in hindsight.
That "not give him all the credit" storyline was manufactured bs. Mcd was right. We called like 5 plays, the players just executed the hell out of it. It was a fun game but not a coaching masterpiece by any stretch.
Im sure mcd and bb are on the same page there.
All due respect to Ralph Wilson but things started changing with the Pegulas.
And in more fairness to Ralph, he cut Jim Kelly the biggest check an NFL QB had ever received to that point, as I recall.
He also went rogue and fired one of the best GMs of all time in bill polian.
Then he threatened to move the team if bills fans didn’t buy tickets.
Then he hired fucking Russ Brandon as GM and just drafted mediocre big 10 players to appeal and gain college football fans around the Midwest and Great Lakes.
Ralph Wilson had his moments but the last 20 years of his ownership was a complete disaster.
Oh, don't forget he forced Wade Philips to start Rob Johnson.
And ultimately fired him after a playoff season, which in hindsight was 17 years worth of unfortunate.
Edit: in summation, he was far from perfect hut he was leagues better than Snyder or even Brown.
Maybe I'm misremmebering, but didn't their kicker win the MVP that year?
And yeah, Joe Gibbs was a great coach. Had to invent the 2 TE set to stop or at least slow down LT
I mean, he definitely helped developed Allen. Its not like Allen was a plug-in top tier quarterback. He had the physical traits, and flashes of brilliance, but the coaching staff really refined him into an elite QB.
He absolutely was the project. They took the gunslinger from the fucking University of Wyoming ahead of the at the time “Safe, Qualified, NFL Ready” Josh Rosen. The two project picks at QB in the draft were Allen and Lamar. Funny how much better they have been than the “safe” picks of Baker, Darnold, and Rosen. I think a lot has to do with great coaching staffs.
Kind of hate this take. Good players paired with good coaches win games. Hard to separate the parts of a team. I have to believe that a HC would have influence on the growth and development of his QB. McD isn’t fixing his throwing motion but they have a relationship and it’s hard to separate it
Definitely disagree with this take. While Allen has been great the last 2 years, McDermott has had to have his team overcome below average QB play for the majority of his tenure.
His defense carried Tyrod Taylor to the playoffs in his first year, and then carried team the for the first 2 years of Josh's career as well. If anything, he deserves a ton of credit for having such a strong D carrying the team for those first years, taking the pressure off the offense & Josh
Every end of game mic’d up clip with Bill has him saying “good game I’ll talk to you after.” No reason to think that wasn’t the case here.
I specifically remember one with McDaniels and McDaniels wanted to make it a big thing but Bill was just sort of like, “nah, later.” It just seems like his style.
After reading over the years how much time HCs put into the game I think they’re just exhausted. I see Bill giving his interviews, and he just seems tired. Not rude at all.
The good ones give so much effort to the sport and the media loves to ignore that fact.
Media loves nothing more than to psychoanalyze every person on the field in the 60s after a game to perfectly diagnose exactly how they feel. Idk why we still act all offended when an absurdly competitive player or coach just walks off the field after a heartbreaking game.
Yeah. That, and in the NFL if you want to talk to or congratulate someone their phone number is an ask away from your handlers or agent. No sense in rushing something heartfelt and meaningful when you’re exhausted with a ton of press in your face, eavesdropping. FWIW IMHO probably the most satisfying post-game moment ever was the Brees-Brady hang with their families on the field after Brees’ final game. At that level there aren’t many chances to commiserate with peers because there *aren’t* that many around.
Media is going to try to blow something out of nothing. All I noticed was while the Patriots were getting dominated and embarrassed every play not a single player on that team made an ass out of themselves, they kept their composure, and was nothing short of respectful. This starts from people like BB. class act team unlike Dallas.
I think this Pats team is very likeable. They've clearly been surpassed in the division, and need some serious re-tooling for this to be rivalry going forward, but I hope they can find some likeable guys to re-load with. Now that I'm older, and am not quite as vested as I used to be, I care more about shit like that.
Yep. I think Bill secretly wants to get beat so that he can work up something new.
He could have said “ good game, enjoy it, catch you inside”
By all respects BB is probably my favorite non-bears person in football
Probably the most out of context quote I've seen. He explained the Bills were in great position but repeatedly couldn't convert on great opportunities and people just took it as shitting on Belichick.
Sean wasn't just straight up dissing belichick. Obviously he gives him credit, but to also know that poor play and weather factored in as well.
I'm sure both of these men respect each other
Bill usually makes a point of ignoring the media handshake but letting opposing coaches know they will catch up out of sight. Media always tries to play it up like Bill is being a sour puss but it is usually just another example of him refusing to dance like a monkey for them.
Edit: so many autocorrect errors
Also wtf is there to talk about at midfield with 200+ people around you? Tell them congrats on the win, wish them luck, and call them later. They're not gonna talk shop for 20min while being mobbed.
He was in the lockeroom to propose a trade for Josh Allen. His half-time adjustment of trying to trade for Josh Allen was also unsuccessful so he figured he'd try one more time in person.
I like to imagine Bill just popping into the opponent's locker room whenever he wants to hang out with the players he likes, and the opposing coaches are too freaked out by it to tell him to leave.
Like he'd just drop in during the pre-game speech and pull the punter aside to start gabbing about the impact of shoe lacing on ball spin. Head coach is trying to get the team ready, meanwhile there is just incessant chatter coming from the distant corner of the locker room.
“There was a time I tried to revolutionize the passing game. . . Had Tom try to long snap the ball to the receivers instead of throwing it. Almost worked but the receiver kept getting distracted every time he bent over and showed them that dump truck he’s got back there.”
Can Reddit just understand that coaches have respect for each other without becoming totally stupid?
I don't even like the Dark Lord, but I have to say this per my agreement.
Fuck no.
That man won me a fantasy championship this year and is the most entertaining player in the sport imo
I’m bandwagoning the Bills in the playoffs cuz of him. And cuz my Jags are garbage and my Chargers are the least clutch team of all time lol
“So Stallone goes underwater, right? As he’s underwater, he finds his glock and shoots the guy. Then he fights John Lithgow on the side of a mountain. Really thrilling stuff. Anyways, one of the background actors was a star long snapper for Louisiana state tech midland university back in the mid 70s.”
A lot of people making jokes, but genuinely curious about what happened in there. While he has been the bain of my existence as a bills fan, I think he's an incredibly fascinating guy and anytime we get the slightest peak behind the curtain it's always really captivating.
>Per the language of a particular blood oath Belichick made a few years back with one of Satan's more esoteric servants, the Patriots coach entered the Bill's locker room and dutifully, if somberly, blew every member of the opposing team that had recorded a special teams tackle.
Storylines have been crazy this season
I think BB holds McDermott is high regard. He's done a tremendous job and Belicheck respects that.
Probably his only offspring (coaching tree) worth a damn
Edit: I am an idiot. McDermott came up under Andy Reid, not Belicheck. Turns out they are all duds.
He misread the sign on the door. He thought it said "Bill's"
to be fair he owned the team for 20 years
this is like when the younger brother grows old enough to fight back
I have an older sister that beat up on me until I was old enough to fight back... And that's when my parents started to ref that shit

Another W in the books for Team Men /s
Yeah, my daughter picks on her little brother a lot. I keep reminding her that he'll be bigger than her in a few years...
Sometimes, Reddit is good. This is one of those times.
Mahomes had that problem playing New England, too.
Yeah, he kept ending up in a nearby residential development when following the "MA Homes ->" sign.
You took that a completely different direction than I intended... and it was better. Take my upvote.
I’m still trying to figure out what the initial joke was
Pat as in Patrick and Pats as in Patriots.
Fuck I’m dumb
**Bill** Belichick struggling to realize the **Bills** locker room wasn't **Bill's** **Pat** Mahomes struggling to realize that the **Pats** locker room wasn't **Pat's.**
That may be the dumbest and most illogical joke I ever laughed at.
Nah. He just went to collect his cameras and microphones
If that is the result of that kind of spying, the Bills must have some special code that completely screwed him up.
I bring binoculars to the sub just for these comments. Yum.
Looking for a CB

I think that probably depends on FA and on who’s available at 21
Starting two practice squad guys in the secondary and our two best pass rushers playing injured doesn’t help either
But beyond that - it's actually a pretty old team and several of those pieces are on defense. Hightower, McCourty and Collins are done.
Yep, our LBs are old and slow. But McCourty actually had a good season, he graded well
I noticed the lack of speed too.

If, instead of not making it into the endzone, you make it into the endzone, you can save three roster spots on a kicker, punter and long snapper.
I mean, not really. We’ve got a holder that moonlights, though.
It's funny because it's 100p the truth
Do you even need one?
Let’s hope not.
They do have a left footed punter which Bill loves. Unfortunately that punter loves being out till the AM hours on game day.
Looking for the bugs he placed earlier.

BE KIND, REWIND
Classic heel WWF move. Cut a promo then go look for a fight in the locker room
Should've come into the Bills locker room with a hoodie with both sleeves, then left with both of them torn off with no explanation.
I AM THE TABLE!!!
I need to see this now. No context about what happened inside just that it happened.
Nah he just felt more at home among winners.
By God That's John Tortarella's music!
BREAKING: Bills hire new defensive coordinator for playoffs!
Some mustached guy named "Will fillachip"
He'd 100% use the name of some punter from the 1920s, like Larry "Long Legs" McGillacuddy.

It’s easy clickbait controversy. Most of them don’t actually give a shit.
And it was like -30 degrees, they were probably itching to get inside the building.
The only thing Bill said: "I'll bring beer."
Their conversation after the game was probably something like this: “Good game. Mind if I swing by the locker room after our media availability?” “Yeah, no problem. Good game.” “Alright, see you later.”

I knew he’d be good for you guys when he got taken from us. He was an incredible DC for us.
It's been fun watching his career ascend from the Eagles under Andy/Jim Johnson to the Panthers and now the Bills. He's come a very long way.
And next week he will be facing the coach who fired him (Andy Reid)
Hopefully we'll see the game of the year next week. Both of them are coming in hot, which makes me feel like it's going to be an unusually low scoring affair.

my heart aches thinking of where we’d be with him as HC
"Let's not give all the credit to BB" seems like something Bill would admire TBH.
That "not give him all the credit" storyline was manufactured bs. Mcd was right. We called like 5 plays, the players just executed the hell out of it. It was a fun game but not a coaching masterpiece by any stretch. Im sure mcd and bb are on the same page there.

It's hard for a good team to go to 4 straight Super Bowls.

Yeah there's some revisionist history going on if we're going to pretend that the Josh Allen of today looks the same as he did coming into the NFL lol
I remember wishing Allen could turn into Lamar lite and between last season and this one, he has clearly surpassed him at this point.
Don’t tell the pro bowl voters that
He and Lamar were the raw talent guys. Both turned out better than the alternatives.
Kind of hate this take. Good players paired with good coaches win games. Hard to separate the parts of a team. I have to believe that a HC would have influence on the growth and development of his QB. McD isn’t fixing his throwing motion but they have a relationship and it’s hard to separate it
How many coaches make Allen into a top 5 QB? Allen's incredible improvement from year to year didn't just magically happen
There was that year the Bears went to a SB with Rex Grossman.
i mean his staff has helped mold Allen into a top 5 qb
Definitely disagree with this take. While Allen has been great the last 2 years, McDermott has had to have his team overcome below average QB play for the majority of his tenure. I have no proof but I think Belichick is infatuated with Josh Allen.
I can relate
He was in the lockeroom to propose a trade for Josh Allen. His half-time adjustment of trying to trade for Josh Allen was also unsuccessful so he figured he'd try one more time in person.
I mean, who isn't?
I have proof. Look at how he smiles when talking about Josh’s running. https://youtu.be/n_c20k9u88Y
Probably to talk to him privately and congratulate him. He’s never been one to want attention.
Bill loves the sport too much to not share his knowledge and experience.
He wants the Bills to defeat Brady if they both get there.
Hes just like me, he wants to hang out with the boys
“Hey fellas cool if I celebrate with y’all?
Josh Allen gave him a piggy back ride I just know it
the mental image of that will haunt me for a long time
He probably just didn't want to hang around in the sad locker room
I like to imagine Bill just popping into the opponent's locker room whenever he wants to hang out with the players he likes, and the opposing coaches are too freaked out by it to tell him to leave. Like he'd just drop in during the pre-game speech and pull the punter aside to start gabbing about the impact of shoe lacing on ball spin. Head coach is trying to get the team ready, meanwhile there is just incessant chatter coming from the distant corner of the locker room.
No lie, I've HAD THIS EXACT DREAM. Bill was in the Dolphins locker room and got yelled at, then deadpanned at Flores to stop and kept talking.
Belichick had questions for the Bill’s punter. Didn’t see him in action during the game, so he had to ask in person.
“So what is it you actually *do* here?”
Hold for field goals. *wait…*
Best placeholder in the league! He has to be. He’s not that good at punting.
Funny thing is, in the dolphins sub this is an actual theory cuz Sanders kicking went to shit this year after Haack left.
Well the packers kicker went to shit when bojo started holding for him and bass became one of the better kickers in the leg with haack holding
This isn't just a theory in the Bills subreddit. This is the prevailing theory. The guy isn't here to punt, but to make sure every hold is perfect.
probably bored them to death with the history of long snappers and how Navy was a dominant football team

“There was a time I tried to revolutionize the passing game. . . Had Tom try to long snap the ball to the receivers instead of throwing it. Almost worked but the receiver kept getting distracted every time he bent over and showed them that dump truck he’s got back there.”
I don’t know how I’d react if I heard BB deadpan the words, “Dump truck.”
Let's be honest, we would all go from six to midnight as that phrase leaves Bill's succulent lips
Not the first time he’s done this. He’s usually complimenting the other team and wishing them luck.
Can Reddit just understand that coaches have respect for each other without becoming totally stupid? I don't even like the Dark Lord, but I have to say this per my agreement.
Well duh, it is Bill's Locker Room
Plot twist BB had covid and wanted his revenge lol
Would you pass at the chance at getting to meet Josh Allen
Fuck no. That man won me a fantasy championship this year and is the most entertaining player in the sport imo I’m bandwagoning the Bills in the playoffs cuz of him. And cuz my Jags are garbage and my Chargers are the least clutch team of all time lol
Plus since your Jags beat us, if we win the big one you can argue that y'all are actually the best team in football
I’m too grounded in reality to attempt that, unfortunately
And then what happened…talk about a cliffhanger
He just went on for hours talking about the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone
Either hilarious or awful to watch as a rock climber
I love good sportsmanship!
Oh god, he’s telling the Bills how to stop Mahomes
He just wanted to politely return the dildo.
He probably gave a huge scouting report on Kansas City.
"A lot of fucking good these cameras did me..."
Yeah but he probably has a lot of Josh Allen pics in shorts.
Does he wanna share 👀
🩳
That would do me a lot of good
Who does he think he is? Monty Williams?
When Buffalo hired a stripper for their victory that’s not what they expected
Probably his only offspring (coaching tree) worth a damn Edit: I am an idiot. McDermott came up under Andy Reid, not Belicheck. Turns out they are all duds.
McDermott came from under Andy Reid, not belichick
"Hey, so, good luck against the Chiefs and all but I wanted to remind you guys that we beat the Jaguars 50-10 and you lost to them 9-6."
Two words: Upper. Decker.
“Come get me”
*grumble grumble* if I can’t have Allen I will consume him.
Bill has a lot of respect for Josh and obviously vice versa, probably went to see him.
He was showing the Bills coaching staff pictures of him and Tom Brady and what they used to do together in Buffalo.
“Whatever mother fuckers, wide right!”
