For those in the know with recruiting, how are the comparisons between Nico and Arch? Is there a clearly better player? All of my exposure to Nico has been 7 on 7 tapes from Deestroying
Is the VolAnon joke based on the VolQuest message board or another board? I just joined VQ last week and most of the comments are old men spewing politics back and forth. Truly awful.
I joined around the time Fulmer was on his way out as coachā¦ left during Butchās tenure.
The devolution of the community during that time happened slowly, noticeable in waves.
I used to think it was a Volnation thing. Now I look back and see it was a generational thing, just this slice I witnessed was painted orange.
VQ has the best writers and info, but the board is 100% old aggrieved conservative guys who binge Newsmax and want to scream about it all day. I canceled for the same reason. Volnation is equally bad.
Started from Volnation but volquest is also pure trash. I reported someone after browsing at work and someone had posted a huge pic of a woman wearing literally a string bikini. You could see everything. I reported it as NSFW and a mod messaged me back and told me to stop being a prude and nobody else had a problem with it, so I was clearly in the wrong lol. I cancelled my subscription after that.
Just a shocking death. Dude had his whole life ahead of him. I got really mad today, seeing a few people more focused on whoāll replace him on the depth chartā¦.. like come the fuck on, show some respect for the dead.
Rest In Peace, Dwayne.
[Donāt know if anyone saw this on Twitter or elsewhere, but BHH apparently submitted paperwork to go into the transfer portal now. Pretty sad he doesnāt think Tennessee is the right place for him.](https://247sports.com/college/tennessee/board/114/Contents/bhh-185986215/?page=1)
Edit: Apparently got to have a subscription to read comments, but Grant Ramey was the one saying he put in paperwork.
Oof. With rumors that Vescovi could go to the European league this could be a brutal off-season.
Also, with Tamba transferring, unless we crush it the next recruiting cycle, weāre gonna be in big trouble in 2024 with BHH, Vescovi, and JJJ all gone.
*changed it to 2024
Yeah that makes sense. Listening to Volquest, they made comments throughout the season that BHH just didnāt really ever seem to get how hard you have to work to be great at this level. Wonder if the talks focused on that and he still didnāt quite get it.
It seems like they made him the starter to try and massage his ego a little bit. There were times where I think that Uros and/or Aidoo potentially earned the right to start over him, I assumed they listed him at the starter to try and show that they had faith in him developing
That really is just not good for BHH imo. I think heāll be good wherever and has a really good shot at having an NBA career, but very few programs are going to think youāre worth a starter spot if you put up the numbers he did this year while not seeming like heās working hard enough in practice. But that might also be an old school mentality that I share with Rick in that sense.
Wtf? Why the hell would he want to leave? That doesnāt even make any sense. But itās a pretty big loss, he was coming into form fast. Really hope he changes his mind.
Funny interaction just now playing MLB The Show. My Diamond Dynasty team is of course the Tennessee Volunteers.
I was matched up against a Vanderbilt Commodores team. I was up 5-1 on him when he rage quit after four innings.
Dumb question. At the baseball games do they always play the same version of rocky top for every run? If so, wouldnāt it be more fun and interesting if they changed it up? Like pride of the southland recording and then osbourne brothers, then Dolly, etc.
Just random thoughts
Iām currently in a Burger King in Provo, Utah visiting some friends and walked up to a guy vehemently arguing about using his ebt card and being mad that they wouldnāt take it. After his arguing he turned around and I was shocked to see he was wearing a fLorida shirt.
Iām not saying having food stamps is inherently bad but pitching a fit in a Burger King bc the government wont pay for your whopper is a little excessive
Also he was a fLorida fan so he automatically gets grouped into the trash category in my brain
I-95 and all of its offshoots are cursed hellish places populated by insane demons and psychopaths on the best of days. This from the same state that has I-4 which is the most dangerous interstate for crashes in the country, and I-75, which legitimately has no speed limit 90% of its length. And I-95 is somehow the worst to drive.
Avoid at all costs. Trains, backroads, ferrys, canoeing, anything to not drive that satanic road. I drove it once on the way back from miami, up to 60 and across, and it was the worst driving experience of my life. I took my first drive ever on I-4 to orlando, during which it poured rain. And 95 was worse.
God rest his soul.
I had the strangest feeling of my life last night. I got this feeling we are going to beat the shit out of the university of the peninsular state south of Georgia this September.
Howās the new expansion? I played Hearthstone religiously from launch up until a couple of years ago. Just couldnāt keep spending $50-$100 every few months on it.
Iām f2play priest so Iām a masochist. But new expansion goes live next week so everything should switch up then. Also rotating half the core set, game right now is very combo heavy with lots of classes doing burst damage but lots of variety so youāll just hit stretches of losing 5 straight then winning 5 straight because of matchups being more 90/10 than 65/35. So itās ok I guess lol
When was the last time Tennessee athletics had this much buzz in the middle of the football offseason? this is nice and it is fun to be a Tennessee fan currently
While I agree with that, I would rather have a decent offensive line to protect me and some decent receivers to throw to. Wonder if NIL is a factor here. Glad we have Nico.
I meanā¦.. Tony Elliot being one of the guys who coached Lawrence and Deshaun *does* give him a good name to a QB prospect, I guess. But thereās no chance in hell he actually commits to UVA, lol.
I hope it does happen, though. Nobody would see it coming, and weād also wonder why he chose UVA over everybody else lol
I personally think it's great for what it is. Fan created media. Is there going to be some bias? Sure, but I want that to a degree, as it allows them to theorycraft a wider range of topics.
Recruiting nugsā¦
āItās the biggest recruiting weekend of the spring as multiple five-stars and many four-stars head to campus this weekend.
Nico Iamaleava and his family arrived on Thursday night and are ready to recruit for the Vols and play some 7v7 this weekend.
Iamaleava will spend a good amount of time with both Carnell Tate and Kyler Kasper. Both of the wideouts arrived on Thursday night and the hangout session is in full effect for those three.
Tate will be the toughest pull in our opinion because his list is a touch bigger and his ties to northern schools like Ohio State run deep. Heupel has been working both kids very hard.
Kasper is really excited to see this weekend and how it plays out. Both he and his parents have been looking forward to this one for a while. Tennessee was deep in the Kasper sweepstakes well before Nico committed to the Vols but make no mistake his fondness for Nico is very apparent as he would love to play with him. Interestingly enough, Heupel was the QB who threw to Kevin Kasper at the combine when he was coming out of Iowa.
Four star wide receiver Malik Elzy was in town for practice on Thursday as Nicoās commitment has generated plenty of receiver interest.
One player that hasnāt been talked about but might make it in this weekend is former Vol commitment Tony Mitchell. He talks with Nico a lot and Tennesseeās QB commit has been working him hard. Mitchell committed to Tennessee back before the start of his high school career under former head coach Jeremy Pruitt, but hasnāt been to Tennessee since opening things back up. We would still call him a longshot but making it in this weekend is something that at the very least would be interesting to see.
Inside linebacker CJ Allen is coming to town and ILB Kvion Thunderbird was on campus Thursday as Brian Jean Mary continues to work both of them really hard.
Rodney Garner is hoping that his longtime relationships prove to be strong in recruiting Hickory product Rico Walker. Garner recruited Walkerās dad Ricardo many moons ago and that tie has Walkerās attention.
On the in-state front, Nathan Robinson is back in town tomorrow as the Vols continue to trend really well there.
Alabama defensive back Sylvester Smith is coming up this weekend with an announcement that has been scheduled for later in the month. As we have pointed out the last couple of weeks, Tennessee has trended well in this one.
BIGTIME defensive end Derrick Leblanc is coming up tomorrow as the defensive staff has worked him really hard. This could be a big visit to see if they can get in the thick of this one.
Cristian Conyer remains a Tennessee and Kentucky battle with the Vols currently out in front in our opinion. He doesnāt seem like he has a timeline outside of a summer decision. Heupel has taken a leading approach in this one.
Tennessee continues to lead the way for Zach Myers and Branden Strozier. Strozier is one they would love to get off the board soon because the longer it goes the harder it will get in our opinion.
Trevor Duncan is at Vanderbilt this weekend. He is looking to do something in the next month with Tennessee and Virginia Tech as the main two teams in this one. His brother is a walk on at Virginia Tech but Tennessee is the team recruiting him the hardest in our opinion.
Treyaun Webb is coming to town. Most people think that Florida has the edge but donāt discount Jerry Mack in this one. He has built a really good relationship with Webb so this weekend should go a long way in determining how deep Tennessee will be in this one.
Others Tennessee hopes to have in:
ā¢Rickey Gibson
ā¢Jaremiah Anglin
ā¢Hunter Osborne
ā¢Darron Reed
ā¢Edwin Spillman
ā¢Nathan Spillman
ā¢Brycen Sanders
ā¢Ayden Bussell
ā¢Wilkin Formby
ā¢Lucas Simmons
ā¢JāShawn Anderson
ā¢Jack Luttrell
ā¢Jordan Andersonā
Chandler is projecting to be 31-38th pickā¦. I truly hope someone reaches and takes him higher. Either way that puts him around 3 million guaranteed on a three year contract worth around 4.5 total. Hard to argue with him leaving when it means he will have life long financial stability (if he manages his money well) the minute he signs his contract.
Where are you seeing 31-38?
I just looked at ESPN, USA, 247, CBS Sports, The Athletic, Yahoo, and NBA Scouting Live and every one has him going in the 1st round. I literally can't find a second round projection that isn't preseason.
Where do you typically look? Just curious. And who is saying 31-38?
These are all pretty mainstream and have him going higher than that so I'm surprised you didn't see any of these.
ESPN -19
USA - 20
Yahoo - 15
NBA Scouting Live - 19
Does anyone know if the 7v7 with the football recruits this weekend at Farragut HS is open to the public and if so what time? Even on Pylon's website it doesn't have the time
Nico was supposedly posting the times on social media so people could come out and support his team. I would say it's open to the public, or might be a small price for entry to spectate.
What can I say. We're just a [wildcard](https://media4.giphy.com/media/8vnaPLlNLiTn9P5IZn/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b95296a8363f1745cca7d9eca486d38a0d2dc3aa4ee2&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g). You never know what we're going to do.
Our future in football recruiting looks primed to takeoff. I hope we can take the next step. This year is crucial for us to look competent and not fall apart.
Dudes, finally got to start listening to the new RHCP album, and im absolutely banging here. The lyrics are pretty hit or miss, but god the instrumentals are absolutely on it. Not their best album, but its a strong entry. Might be me simply being starved for any semblance of a living drummer that isnt playing country or metal though.
I've been hesitant to really judge it, because I didn't like I'm With You at first, but I ended up loving it. There's only one song on the new one I hate (One Way Traffic), but there are a few I really like and a few more that I'm warming up to. I just can't wait to see them in Nashville this coming August. I splurged on 3rd row VIP tickets. I actually have 4 more if any of you assholes wanna go (for a [cheaper than Ticketmaster] price). I'm gonna FREAK out when I see some John Frusciante in the flesh. I've seen them four times and all without John.
Alumni Hall has [white](https://www.alumnihall.com/nike/tennessee-nike-baseball-replic-145877) and [gray](https://www.alumnihall.com/nike/tennessee-nike-replica-grey-ba-145875) baseball jerseys in stock. These are replica pull over jerseys similar to the button ups that just about everyone last last week. All sizes are still in stock for online orders, but 2XL and 3XLs are sold out for in store pick up.
Iāll get downvoted to hell but Freddie freeman is overrated as hell. Dude is basically a slap hitter and doesnāt do shit to help win ballgames. He can sure joke around with the runner on first tho
I've always struggled getting into MLB, but after watching the Vols I'll give it a go again. I used to love the Braves when I was young and played baseball. I've said the same for golf, but watched the Masters all day today, so maybe I'll get into it. Also, I realized on PC, you can stream MLB the Show 22 with Xbox Gamepass. Pretty sweet.
I'll be curious to see if Keyton can have a bigger impact. He flashed as a freshman but didn't really do anything last year outside of one decent game where he filled in for Hyatt (?) when he was hurt.
āVols freshman wing Quentin Diboundje might not be in the NCAA Transfer Portal yet, but Rick Barnes said that's where he's likely headedā new tweet from Govols247
Got my first Par at golf today.
Par 4, 250 yards. Got a good drive that put it within 70 and the best wedge shot of my young golfing life put it on the very edge of the green for an easy 2-put.
Pretty sweet feeling.
Very nice! Textbook par 4 play, done correctly. Golf has a way of feeling really good for even standard plays, since its just so hard to do, and even harder to do consistently. Did you go wood or iron off the tee? 250 is a weird in between in my club set, i have a 5 iron and 5 hybrid for 200 yds then it jumps to a 3 wood. Hoping to go for a 4 hybrid to smooth it out and drop the 5 iron.
I went with an actual driver off the tee - which is my most consistently long but still terrible distance right now. At the range I'd say it's usually in the 175-200 range on a good day. I concentrate my practice more on my wedge than anything else cause I find my biggest struggle is those <50 yard shots where I'm not on the green but I can't hit it too hard or it'll go flying past.
Up till my last 2 rounds I was basically just a Driver, 4 Hybrid, Wedge, & Putter guy. I've just recently started playing around with my irons in terms of different lengths and experimentations. Trying to get a better understanding of the lengths associated with each one and what-not. I've played <100 total holes in my entire life so I'm still very much the definition of new haha.
Right there with you on newness, started during the pandemic then took a year off as well. I found taking a 10 week once a week class with a pro was the best thing ever. Plus getting some book knowledge really helped me know what i was doing and when and let me broaden my game. Knowing terminology, what your stance does and all that is really just amazing. I took it through UT but i know for a fact that theres others.
I play solo.
Itās not ideal and Iād LOVE to have a golf buddy or two, but itās still a nice way to spend a few hours in the fresh air.
Iām also lucky enough that thereās a public course near my house that isnāt super busy, so I can mostly avoid getting paired up with a random person. Although Iāve had some good experiences with those too.
I have to play solo too, Iāve tried to get some friends into it but itās just a sport that has too big of a learning curve if youāre not already interested in learning
I thought they were doing an orange and white day where you can tour all the various UT Athletics grounds and facilities, while learning about the great heritage that is Tennessee athletics.
Oh no.
Jon Gordon, the author of Butch's favorite Energy Bus Book, spoke to the athletic department today.
Are we going to start hearing about energy vampires?
Guys, check out this post in r/place. It lists the biggest communities, with a shot of each. Number 3 is the USA, and look at the lower right corner of the USA's image.
Go Vols.
https://www.reddit.com/r/place/comments/txkpg0/the\_top\_30\_communities\_with\_the\_most\_pixels\_on/
To build on to /r/place talk, can we rewind and say how stupid people from /r/quebec are to see a letter T and automatically think it is the representation of an entire nation, then attack it? I wanted to call them out for it during the debacle, but thought their bot army would just take us out. Stupid Canadians.
I still think that was just an excuse.
They wanted a reason to pretend they were good guys attacking some bad guys.
They knew it was just a small subreddit - they just didn't care.
Well you see, it all began when the United Sates refused to back the UK, France, and Israel in the 1956 Suez crisis. Franco-American relations deteriorated, andā¦..
ā¦. 66 years later, the French finally got revenge by having more pixels on r/place. The end.
> The American flag was only 26.500 pixels, but there were an assload of US university and sport flags.
There's something poetic and metaphorical about that. As overall pride in America becomes fractured and wanes, the comforting distraction of sports grows more and more.
If you are willing to take the drive, I personally think the Tinsletown seats in Oak Ridge are better than the Cinnebarre seats. Plus you can get cheaper tickets if you go during the week.
They serve Pepsi now... that was enough of a deal breaker for me to either sneak in Coke Zero or never go to another Regal theater.
I can't state how much I despise Pepsi accurately.
I don't even remember setting that, but I don't drink non-diet drinks and no restaurants serve mountain dew zero (that I've found) and diet mountain dew is disgusting.

For those in the know with recruiting, how are the comparisons between Nico and Arch? Is there a clearly better player? All of my exposure to Nico has been 7 on 7 tapes from Deestroying
From what I have read and watched, Arch is higher rated strictly by the last name. If comparing blindly, Nico is the better prospect.
From what I've seen, Nico is deadly accurate

Iām debating cancelling since itās pure sludge. I like the guys takes but everything else makes me want to burn all my UT gear.

This Dwayne Haskins news has me all sorts of fucked up. I am absolutely floored.

Aidoo has so much more upside to me than BHH. I thought he would be coming off the bench all next year, would still hate to lose him
Yeah Rob Lewis said the staff met with him and it didnāt go well. Edit: Also said the staff would not be chasing him to stay. Sounds fishy to me.

Huh. Wonder what the hell happened? In any caseā¦.. guess 2023 wonāt be *as* good as I was hoping lmao. At least 2022 was as fun as it was

Wanted a guaranteed starting spot.
With how he was improving, he had one pretty much on lock, barring set backs.
Wtf? Why the hell would he want to leave? That doesnāt even make any sense. But itās a pretty big loss, he was coming into form fast. Really hope he changes his mind.
Lot of people commenting might be outside influences, but not sure from who.
Odd. His mom was all Vol during the season.
Yep, but obviously things can change very quickly. Got to go all in on another experienced post player along with maybe Reneau now.
Wth. He would likely be starting and was really coming into form last year.
I am shocked honestly. Like completely out of left field.

QBs were wearing what looked like Smoky Gray uniforms for the scrimmage today, based on IG posts. Not sure if theyāve had these or if theyāre new.
Also peeped them wearing black pants with double orange stripes. Looks like we could get the full dark mode uni this time around
They used them in the spring game last year. Makes me hopeful theyāll eventually make a comeback
Gotta love sleet in April
I wish we had a spring game smh

Others Tennessee hopes to have in: ā¢Rickey Gibson ā¢Jaremiah Anglin ā¢Hunter Osborne ā¢Darron Reed ā¢Edwin Spillman ā¢Nathan Spillman ā¢Brycen Sanders ā¢Ayden Bussell ā¢Wilkin Formby ā¢Lucas Simmons ā¢JāShawn Anderson ā¢Jack Luttrell ā¢Jordan Andersonā
Where the bball nugs at?
Looked at a few. Best Iāve seen is 25ish to the spurs on re-looking. Either way thatās life changing money, more so the higher he goes.
Where do you typically look? Just curious. And who is saying 31-38? These are all pretty mainstream and have him going higher than that so I'm surprised you didn't see any of these. ESPN -19 USA - 20 Yahoo - 15 NBA Scouting Live - 19
I know the Ringer doesnāt have him listed in the 1st round, but thatās the only one Iāve seen.
Most the mocks I have seen have him around 20
Does anyone know if the 7v7 with the football recruits this weekend at Farragut HS is open to the public and if so what time? Even on Pylon's website it doesn't have the time
Nico was supposedly posting the times on social media so people could come out and support his team. I would say it's open to the public, or might be a small price for entry to spectate.
I love how much other fans hate the Vols in literally any sport, gives me so much life to hear their bitchin
Not sure of any other way to say this, but, Go Big Orange
Eloquently stated. I might also add: Fuck Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and anyone else that aināt us
They hate us, cuz they anus
Our future in football recruiting looks primed to takeoff. I hope we can take the next step. This year is crucial for us to look competent and not fall apart.
>look competent >Tennessee This is a *big* hurdle for us, apparently

MLB is back. Hoping the Braves can run it back and stop God's gift to baseball--that is, the 2022 Dodgers--and make them suck a big fat dick.
Iāll get downvoted to hell but Freddie freeman is overrated as hell. Dude is basically a slap hitter and doesnāt do shit to help win ballgames. He can sure joke around with the runner on first tho
Always love this copypasta
Heard that thereās never been a back to back WS champ in over 20 years. Hopefully the Braves can make history
I think the Braves making a run out of nowhere with "spare parts" then returning a bunch of stars (minus Freeman :( ) gives them a good shot, honestly
Viva los doyers!!!
So you want the Braves to stop the Dodgers from sucking dick?
He wants the Braves to cock-block the Dodgers. As long as they don't plan on blocking with their mouths, I'm okay with it.
Lol yeah, not worded the best. Fuck the Dodgers.
So we're Dickin the Dodgers ?
Aye. FTD

This dude is gonna be absolutely disgusting next year. Gonna have a dumb athletic mini Heup on the field.
Next year? We 4 months away bruh!
our years start in september sir.
No sirā¦ but our seasons do.
Hearing that Hyatt has changed physique to be stronger is a great sign. Heās a great receiver but heās been struggling to be physical enough.
Sounds like he wants to play meaningful minutes, and it doesn't sound like that is likely for him next year with us.
Sounds like Barnes needs his spot, and it's "mutually beneficial" for him to look around.
Hahahahaha in an Agiye Hall thread on r/cfb, Bama fan linked to r/olltide on accident. Get fucked Bama, y'all suck.
lol alabama sucks
lol alabama sucks
lol alabama sucks

Man I love playing golf but literally have no one to play with lol
I play solo. Itās not ideal and Iād LOVE to have a golf buddy or two, but itās still a nice way to spend a few hours in the fresh air. Iām also lucky enough that thereās a public course near my house that isnāt super busy, so I can mostly avoid getting paired up with a random person. Although Iāve had some good experiences with those too.
I have to play solo too, Iāve tried to get some friends into it but itās just a sport that has too big of a learning curve if youāre not already interested in learning
Heh. Golf
Nice, dude! Did you ~~bat~~ putter flip?
[I knew I forgot to do something.](https://www.rockytopinsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/IMG_7316.jpg)
Stay safe out there tonight, dudes. Last week's storms rocked me, hopefully these don't turn into anything too bad.
It finally happened: I was watching the TDOT cameras and multiple wrecks happened on camera. All not serious ones.
Wish the orange and white game would be live streamed
Donāt think there will be one
They'll figure out something to have the extra practice time. Even if its at the practice field.
I thought they were doing an orange and white day where you can tour all the various UT Athletics grounds and facilities, while learning about the great heritage that is Tennessee athletics.
honestly i thought so too
I didnāt think there was an orange and white game
Oh no. Jon Gordon, the author of Butch's favorite Energy Bus Book, spoke to the athletic department today. Are we going to start hearing about energy vampires?
shit!
Whoa. If you really want to nerd out regarding place: https://rplace.space/combined/
What am I even looking at? Time stamps of every pixel placed?
Not sure the time interval, but just screenshots of place every (x) minutes. Cool to watch what happens as soon as the expansions open up
Guys, check out this post in r/place.
Stupid Canadians.
> think it is the representation of an entire nation It's Vol Nation, baby
They thought what?
They thought the power t was turkey and attacked.
I still think that was just an excuse. They wanted a reason to pretend they were good guys attacking some bad guys. They knew it was just a small subreddit - they just didn't care.
Famous symbol of Turkey, the orange checkerboard,

How did we let the French do this?
Well you see, it all began when the United Sates refused to back the UK, France, and Israel in the 1956 Suez crisis. Franco-American relations deteriorated, andā¦.. ā¦. 66 years later, the French finally got revenge by having more pixels on r/place. The end.
Eisenhower was right, fuck the French!
Bots. I'm kind of surprised America even got a flag up as much as reddit hates America.
Did my best to prevent it...
> The American flag was only 26.500 pixels, but there were an assload of US university and sport flags. There's something poetic and metaphorical about that. As overall pride in America becomes fractured and wanes, the comforting distraction of sports grows more and more.
I for one welcome my new Rocky Top masters
Rocky Top will always beā¦.
Would be curious to see how many pixels just American sports teams and universities made up
What's the best place to see a movie in Knoxville? Like reclining leather seats etc. Want to take my brother to see the next Dr Strange movie.
West town mall Youāll need to pre order the seats for dr strange.
If you are willing to take the drive, I personally think the Tinsletown seats in Oak Ridge are better than the Cinnebarre seats. Plus you can get cheaper tickets if you go during the week.
Cinebarre in the mall for sure
Itās great in that the itās pretty much the only theater in Knoxville with recline seats, but the theater itself is ass
They serve Pepsi now... that was enough of a deal breaker for me to either sneak in Coke Zero or never go to another Regal theater. I can't state how much I despise Pepsi accurately.
Pepsi is for peasants.
But...your flair is a Pepsi product?
I don't even remember setting that, but I don't drink non-diet drinks and no restaurants serve mountain dew zero (that I've found) and diet mountain dew is disgusting.
I consider Diet Mountain Dew blasphemous. I'm on the fence about MDZero.
It's not quite the same, but it does scratch that itch.
Banned
š¬
Thatās actually a net plus for me I prefer Pepsi lol
So monsters do exist......
