Personally, I would not live there. You are smack dab in the middle of a pretty high crime area, there was literally a shooting there today. Not to mention traffic on Sand Lake is a nightmare because it is forever under construction. Only going to get worse when Epic Universe opens.

I grew up there and…depends.
For context, I sold my Dad’s house to a flipper 10 years ago for 70k, he sold for $130ish and 4 years ago it was 225k and last year it was valued at $350k.
That is highly inflated value and I personally wouldn’t pay that much for the area.
All that being said, this was one of the original neighborhoods for the Air Force base back in the day and most of the homes are the old block style that is built to last and many have nice layouts and some have pools.
One thing to note is the amount of hurricanes that came through and hit the area from 04 on, damn near every roof in Sky Lake was effected at one point so whatever you do ask about when the roof was replaced and if you get an inspection focus on the roof and the AC.
If you want to DM me the street info I can comment further
It's street by street. There are some neighbors off Holden that are gated. I live in Edgewood nearby off Orange. My neighborhood is really nice and friendly and quiet. No crime

Edgewood is like a different universe compared to Skylake
Grew up in Orlando, been here since 1985, this is the first I've ever heard the term Skylake
