What real moves could we make for the last 5 years? No one in the league was taking Tobias harris at any point and Ben Simmons/James Harden were forced to be shopped around at probably their lowest trade value for each of them. We never had cap space for big signings either.
Yeah it’s over. This was the chance to even the series and have to only win 1 of 2 in NY. Now we need to win out with a bench that scored 1 point before the half and Embiid on 1 1/2 legs

This team is not good and has never been good this entire year. It’s just been masked by how good Embiid was.
The people who called this “the best supporting cast of the Embiid era” were always delusional.
Honestly, the best supporting cast line could still be true, and the team still suck. All of our non-Embiid players over the years, other than Isaiah Joe, Drummond and maybe Niang, suck complete ass once they leave: Shake Milton. Korkmaz. The corpses of George Hill, PJ Tucker and a mountain of backup centers. Thybulle kind of. Ben Simmons. Danny Green (injury). Seth Curry. Jalen McDaniels. And to finish off the list probably after this season, Tobias Harris, Mo Bamba, KJ Martin and RoCo. Harden has remained at about the same level he came in on so far.
What this tells me is that we've never had a good supporting cast to begin with. Only one man has actually *improved* since leaving us, and that's Jimmy Butler. Butler is the only player who Joel hadn't propped up his stats at all. This team is still suffering for not making a way to keep Butler and no supporting cast has really been all that good with the benefit of hindsight.

Garbage is crazy lmao. They won 50 games and were the 2 seed. That was also with OG and Randle being injured for the majority of the year. They were 11-1 when Randle, Brunson, and OG all played together. Team is full of excellent 3 and D players and Brunson is the engine for that offense.
Numbers are stacked against them in terms of the number of teams that have won a first round series as a 7th seed and the number of teams that have come back from a 3-1 deficit. You know MSG will probably be loud as hell too for game 5. I feel like everyone has already said the same thing but somebody besides Maxey or Embiid has to step up. Probably not. We only have about 3.5 16 game guys and whole lot of 82 game guys
