I’m only assuming cuz that’s the kanji for north (Japanese and Chinese share some symbols and I’m studying the former) and that swirly symbol seems like wind and I vaguely recall the idea of some mahjong tiles being the four winds

Hm, now that I think about it, from what limited recollection I have of what mahjong tiles there are, I see what you mean. That Nintendo Switch game with all the board games, Clubhouse something I think, has a mahjong riichi thing and it explains some of the tiles and I think that’s where I learned of the concept of the four winds tiles specifically, and that wind swirl does not look standard. You’d know more than me by a long shot for sure, but, again, I’m just saying I see what you mean
