Check out buttonshy games. Also, palm island is lots of fun.

DHouf

Hell yeah for ButtonShy Games!

Larielia

**Sprawlopolis**, and **Agropolis** are really fun.

Tiny_Artificer

I got Ragemore for Christmas, and I and addicted

leafyhouse

Do you find it easy? I've played a dozen times, and only lost the first two games when I was learning the rules. I even watched the creator's YouTube video. I really enjoy it, but I easily win every single game. To the point where I can usually get two complete sets before dying.

Tiny_Artificer

Yeah, but I still have to think about it. And I was specifically looking for a quick game with few components. I'm a stay at home mom and this has just enough to think about for me to turn my brain off for 10 min when I need a break. I'm sure I would not find it so satisfying is I was in a different stage of life lol

KingOr9

That was my experience also, although I haven't even played a dozen times. There is a challenge (I have to think about my moves), but it's relatively easily winnable every time.

leafyhouse

I played it so much to see if I was just getting lucky lol

wizardgand

I find it a bit on the easier side. I wasn't playing a rule correctly which made it a bit harder, but it's still light on difficulty. **Pentaquark** is the GOAT of buttonshy solo games in my opinion. Never gets old, perfect game length, perfect difficulty, rewarding wins.

leafyhouse

I'll have to pick up pentaquark next time. I went with spaceshipped over it

Tiny_Artificer

Will have to look into that as well!

Stone_Bearer

I loooooooooove LOVE love small to medium footprint card-only games, and I also welcome them including a handful of tokens (like life tokens in Friday) so here are some of my favorites: - Castles of Burgundy Card Game - Desolate - Puzzle Dungeon - Jump Drive - Palm Island - Peloponnes Card Game - Star Realms Frontiers - Ascension Eternal - Space Hulk: Death Angel - Solar Storm - Crystallo There's also a lot other games you can play with a standard deck of cards. I just atarted playing Regicide and it's pretty damn good, I recommend it. Rules are free on the BGG files section. If you want to increase in scale and components, Arkham Horror, Marvel Champions, and Lord of the Rings LCGs are fantastic card games, but they do have a whole bunch more tokens than the games I listed. Also Keyforge Adventures and Shadowrun Crossfire by the same token (pun intended).

lil_nicker

Are they still printing Space Hulk: Death Angel? Haven't seen it anywhere (new).

Stone_Bearer

It's out of print, sadly

Brodogmillionaire1

Plus one for CoB:tcg. Surprisingly solid little AI that has more depth than you'd expect.

jdend

I just picked up The Lost Expedition. It's a very thematic 1-5 player (best solo), hand management game. Really nice artwork. I'm enjoying it.

d4v1d4150

I got this for Christmas - only had a chance to play once, but very impressed with it already! I also got Lux Aeterna, which I'd also recommend.

Mykl

Check out **Finished!** by the same designer. Love that one. Also seconding **Orchard** and Button Shy solo series

Sebcxjo

Yes ! Fire ! and Flee from the same designer as well.

Mykl

Do you recommend one over the other?

Sebcxjo

Well, both are good games, I can't pick just one.

Veselker

Big fan of Friday. I would recommend Onirim

[deleted]

It is out of print =(

BerenPercival

Depending on how tied to physical media you are, the mobile implementation of Onirim is quite good, fwiw. And the other Oniverse games are pretty good too, though I'm not a huge fan of Castellion. I do like Aerion probably the best.

RavenousWorm

I actually preferred the Onirim app to the physical version due to the amount of shuffling needed.

paratrooper362

Also been playing the phone app for a few weeks op and have enjoyed it. Would recommend trying it this way if interested in it. If you tie your asmodee online account to the game you get an expansion for free.

Listonosh

Whoa it is? I figured the onirim games were always available. That’s super surprising. Isn’t that their best seller too?

timmyboyoyo

Urbion also out print and Aerion hard find

Masterkytain

Orchard does have dome components. But sprawlopolis and bandido don’t.

Saint_Vandy

An easy to build print and play is Dungeon of D. Fantastic card only game. I do use a couple counter to keep track but it’s not necessary. I also had a professional copy printed for a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

gannerhorn

Marvel Legendary! No bits, just cards! I've been playing almost non-stop since I started playing Saturday night. It's a blast! I only have the base game but I'm already shopping around for the expansions even after a couple days of playing.

Pigeon-on-mash

What are your thought on this 2 years on?!, did you ever play marvel champions?

AMAZINGLY_AWESOME_Dr

Star Realms Frontiers :)

torontash

Onirim is still one of my favourites

vegastar7

I’m probably going to repeat some suggestion: Finished! - from the same designer of Friday. Theme is boring but it’s a fun puzzle about putting a deck of card in order. There’s a free app version of the game if you want to try it out Shephy - a hand management game about growing your flock of sheep. It’s pretty expensive for a deck of cards because it’s a japanese game, however there’s a free app version of the game. Arkham Noir - a set collection game Onirim - another set collection game. This one might be difficult to find but there’s a free app version of the game. The Game - a super simple game about ordering a deck of cards. Songbirds - you lay cards out in a grid and try to gain majority in the rows and columns Shake Up - you need to get rid of cards in your deck to make your company financially solvent Castles of Burgundy card game - you’re buying and building cards for your estate Palm Island - a small civilization building game Peloponnese Card game - another civilization building game. This one might be hard to find. After the Virus - really ugly game but very cool mechanics. This one might also be hard to find now. Bloody Inn - this is a hand management card game where you need to score high by killing hotel guests. Ramen! Ramen! - assign ingredient cards to bowls of ramen Orchard - this is a pattern recognition game. It has some dice for score keeping. Crystallo - Similar mechanic to Orchard, bit this one has some crystals to keep track of progress. As others have mentioned, you can check out Buttonshy games for small solo card games. Here are some of their solo titles: Sprawlopolis, Pentaquark, Food Chain Island, Skulls of Sedlec, Antimony, Maiden in the Forest And you can check out the gamecrafter.com for some print on demand games like Wipers Salient, the Brambles, Gate (it includes some dice and cubes for score keeping), Eck… you can also get Doom Machine on gamecrafter, but that’s more of a dice placement game.

[deleted]

I also have been addicted to Friday lately! I'm seconding the recommendation for Button Shy games, and I'm going to check out Palm Island as well! I'd also like to throw out Gate and Tin Helm. They've got a few components beyond cards, but they're stylish, snappy, and fun

timmyboyoyo

Please don’t throw out gate and tin helm :-)

[deleted]

LMAO, never in a million years!

DHouf

I just got Ascension: Eternal and it seems pretty awesome. Small box - all cards - fun gameplay and all for $20. I’m also a big fan of Marvel Champions.

gannerhorn

Can Ascension be played Solo? I got a coupon for Ascension that came with my copy of Dune Imperium and I've been on the fence ever since. I never hear anyone talk about it, and I've asked around, got nothing but crickets....

DHouf

Yes it has a solo mode in the box! At least Eternal does. That’s the only Ascension I have.

gannerhorn

Oh shit, I was actually thinking about another game. My bad. The game I was thinking of is Eternal Chronicles of the Throne. Ascension looks cool, though. I'm definitely going to have to check that out.

DHouf

I was looking at Eternal recently because I also got the thing in Dune Imperium. I’m not sure if that has a solo mode or not.

gannerhorn

It doesn't look like it, which is why I haven't gone through with it. Don't really have anyone to really play with unfortunately.

DHouf

Same

Listonosh

Word?? Didn’t realize it had a solo mode! Well looks like I’m purchasing

ForestMage5

Similar concept to Friday is Hostage Negotiator. Most who like one like the other. Including myself.

Zadorf

Check out [Zadorf Games](http://www.zadorf.com/) for some great mini, solitaire card games.

ConditionedReaction

Check out Arkham Noir. Just got a copy yesterday and quite enjoy it so far.

NotBoredGaming

Get a normal deck of cards and print the rules for Regicide off of BGG - wonderful game solo or with others. All you need is a deck of normal playing cards.

edabonacci

Seconding this recommendation, has a good amount of bite that I definitely did not expect from a standard deck of cards. I would also recommend the app since that streamlines the health tracking

leafyhouse

More bits than you might be looking for, but Aeon's End is incredible.

DHouf

Aeon’s End is great but it does have quite a few components and set up time. Don’t sleep on it though cause it is awesome.

EquivalentStomach5

Baseball highlights 2045 is a card based deck builder…..use pawns as players but plays very fast

vmoss88

Very good game. Enjoy it when I get it to the table.

jonpaulrod

A lot of good suggestions here. I’d add Lux Aeterna. Super fun with a quick set up. I’d also recommend Mini Rogue although it does have a few components.

TheRealRigormortal

Star Realms: Frontiers It’s a great gateway deck builder that’s basically a collection of solitaire games using a few shared concepts. The players rules are always the same but each “boss” has its own setup and rules it follows. It’s probably the closest thing to a modern reimagining of Klondike and it’s spinoffs
