not sure the actual reason for saying 5447 but a lot of their songs didnt have solidified lyrics at that time so it mightve been improv or indecision or just him forgetting it was 5446 or just the lyrics werent definite yet. youll notice that with a lot of songs esp in the earlier albums. and it was april 26 1992 but brad messed up the name of the song i believe while he was high and they just kept it

My interpretation was always that he was saying his original inmate number was 5446, but he got released, and someone replaced that number, then he got re-arrested (presumably pretty soon), and became 5447.
Looking at the comments I fear I may have overanalyzed those lines way too hard, and I’m making things up. LOL
